We are a small mom and pop shop that started in 1996. Since then, we have catered to many businesses in Downtown Oakland and served many BART commuters. We have seen the city go through many changes, but we remain loyal to our customers by offering delicious food at affordable prices.

Staying in Oakland for a conference and needed a place to have breakfast. Walked into this place on the way to this conference. Bacon and veggie omelettes hit the spot when we really needed some energy. Their lattes are super yummy.
The staff are really cheerful and kind and the prices were very affordable!

I work right by 12th Street BART and forgot to eat breakfast this morning. While walking to BK (bleeecchhh!!) I thankfully found this place next to the Goodwill Store. Good, cheap cooked to order breakfast — I got the croissant sandwich w/​egg, cheese, sausage for under $ 5 and it really hit the spot and spared me from suffering the intestinal consequences of BK Hash Browns.

This place is great. Ton of menu options, good vegetarian good, fast, inexpensive. I got a veggie sandwich with romaine lettuce, avocado, shredded carrots, Swiss cheese, red onions, cucumber, pickles, radish, tomato, celery, and alfalfa sprouts; and a small garden salad with a whole hard boiled egg. $ 8.65 and it took under 5 minutes for the entire transaction. This place rules!

greeted by a chinese emigrant speaking very good english. menu is breakfast, salads, soups, regular sammies. HUH? no itialian? there goes the neighborhood…

I’ve only been here once and it was a short and sweet experience.
I was always curious because this place is ALWAYS busy in the morning when I walk by.
I had a small chef salad, the salads are pre-​made but it was good it had a good portion of meat, tomatoes, cucumbers, carrots, and cheese.
I also tried their milk thai tea and it was one of they best for a decent price. $ 1.95 for a 16oz. No tapioca balls but it’s perfect for my thai tea fixes, I’m a fanatic so I’ve tried many of them and this is one of the BEST.
I will definetly try this place again and update if need be.

I really wanted this place to make a killer sandwich. Whilst waiting for my sandwich in the «sketchy-​as-​hell» diner, I imagined myself waiting a lovely review about how sketchy it was but totally worth it.
To my utter disappointment my sandwich was terrible. Inedible even. It was supposedly toasted, but the bread was old and stale and looked as if it had been toasted yesterday… the beef was dry and stale too. It had a million raw onion rings and I’ve been suffering onion breath ever since.
I do wish I was writing a little positive «ra-​ra local business» review. But I just cant bring myself to do it.
The second star I gave for the service, since I did think the staff were friendly.

One time I was waiting with my food for purchase and a second customer came up to the counter like I was not there and she waited on him first. Their salads are not fresh but worse yet is that the dresssing is watered down. One cashier/​employee is nice and happy while the other is angry and just plain unpredictable. The place never has many customers-​certainly not long term ones. I work in a building around the corner and very very rarely do any of us go there.

My bf was taking the bar in Oakland, and we needed to grab breakfast super early. Buongiorno is the only place open at 6am within a 0.5 mile distance from the Marriott, where the bar exam was being administered.
It’s conveniently located on Broadway, between 12th and 13th St, right next to the 12th St bart station. It’s next door to the Goodwill, for reference. It’s directly across the street from the Marriott and less than a 5-​minute walk to the Clarion.
It’s a standard express deli: coffee, tea, and beverages, breakfast sandwiches & burritos in the morning, sandwiches and soups for lunch, and some cold ready-​made salads. We ordered 2 breakfast sandwiches:
–sausage & egg on an english muffin: basically, a sausage omelette folded into an english muffin. It was kinda bland, but filled me up.
–bacon & egg on a bagel: much better than mine. I will get this next time.

My favorite lunch spot in Oakland, by far!
Order the Fresh Garden Sandwich and you’ll get a monster sandwich with lettuce, tomato, avocado, carrots, radishes, sprouts, cheese, mustard, mayo, cucumbers, and celery on whatever type of bread you want (i always get a toasted roll). For 5.50 you can get half of this or any sandwich, a soup, and chips or a soda. i do it almost every day.
Their breakfast meals are also huge and well worth the max $ 5 you spend.
The service is great. The two ladies that work there are incredibly nice, very accommodating, and do it all on their own.
It might not have a corporate polished look, but this place is definitely better than anything else around 12th Street.

One of the worst sandwiches I’ve ever eaten.
I got a pastrami on rye. Within two bites, the mustard and mayo were soaked through the bread, making it almost impossible to eat.
And the meat? Let’s just say pastrami shouldn’t be more than 20% gristle.

5 years working in this area and I never noticed this hole in the wall… took a few months to muster up the courage to check it out, and boy am I glad I did!
The food is great, and the price is even better! A denver omelete breakfast with potatoes and toast for $ 4.50? Get out of here!

This place looks like a hole in the wall.
I had a really good German friend who stuck around for about a year. He called this place his «ghetto café» but he refused to go anywhere else.
The coffee and pastries are low-​cost (a little over $ 1.00 or $ 2.00 for a latte) and they take cash only. The spare walls feature local art. A lot of them are prints of the streets of Oakland.
I like it here.
