I’ve been a customer of Broadway Liquors for many years. They always have great prices, wonderful customer service, and the store is in a prime location near Lake Merritt and down town Oakland.

This place always has great prices. If you can’t find something usually the owner will order it. Best liquor store in Oakland.

I avoid buying beer now when I’m in the grocery store, and make the extra pass by Broadway Liquor to get mein suds there. A fine establishment. Keep up the good work!

amazing selection of beer

Looks like a nice bottle shop, but no customer service for a faulty product. Bought a 6 pack of Golden Monkey, because it’s one of my favorites, and not many places stock it. Paid 14 bucks. Get home, chill them, open the first bottle, and a fountain appears. most of the beer is gone and what’s left is seriously skunky. Thinking this was just one bottle, I opened another. the same thing.
So I go back and try and return or exchange the bottles I have left (not even wanting a refund for the skunky bottle they sold me. Person behind the counter says he can’t authorize refund or even just let me exchange the bottles. He says I can come back that evening and speak with the manager if I have a problem. I don’t think I should have to make a third trip to the store, just to get made whole on a 6 pack. I’ve probably spent a thousand dollars there this year, and referred them to my friends who wanted a not shady liquor store in Oakland, but no longer. This place wants to be a nice bottle shop, but they don’t have the customer service to back it up.

If you’re a beer fan, this is nirvana.
I stopped by on a tip from the internet that they had BCBS. Was not disappointed. Got two 4 packs (two varieties) for only $ 5 more than I paid for last year’s BCBS at my Safeway.
Owner was awesome and is obviously interested in keeping a beautifully stocked cooler. I also managed to pick up a rare bottle from Firestone Walker that I’ve been searching for for months. I will definitely be back, and soon.

I’ve left these guys a negative review in the past. But, I have to say that they were very concerned and did everything they could to make the situation better. They always do everything they can to turn any negative experience I’ve had into a positive one. That’s more than I can say for most businesses. Everyone deserves a second chance. And, they’ve definitely gotten me back as a customer.
And, they also have the best beer/​wine/​liquor selection in town!

After going to 3 different liquor stores in the area looking for a specific drink we were told to try the liquor store on Broadway. Walked in totally forgot about the drink we wanted and ended getting something better and at a better price. The store was really clean and all the liquor was organized and easy to find. The guys in front happily answered our questions too! I’m not from here but whenever I need some liquor I’ll be sure to stop here before anything.

I just moved here and I have to say I was impressed. Just being here a little over 2 weeks this is the first liquor store I’ve been to being its close to my home. Great liquor selection and my husband is impressed with the craft beers. The staff here are also friendly, will answer any questions you have also. Was amazed at how the gentleman at the counter actually engaged with me upon checkout as opposed to most places that might not welcome u or even ask how your day is going.

I left a negative review on this liquor store a month ago. I just stopped by the other day and started discussing with the owner. I happened to mention the problem I encountered before and he convinced me neither he nor his staff has done anything wrong intentionally. This guy [the owner of this business] is real good at approaching disgruntled customers in a professional way. I recommend this place for good selection of liquors.

This is my favorite liquor store in Oakland as far as I know. They have to pretty much every kind of booze you can imagine– and a lot that you don’t think to imagine. The men who work here are all extremely friendly and polite & know where everything is.
If you continue making a request for an item they don’t have they will eventually stock it, which is probably how they got their eclectic selection.
This is my go to place for ginger beer.

Broadway Liquors is a big store with separate sections for the soft drinks, beers, wines, and lotto station.
didn’t have much time to peruse since meter wouldn’t register my quarters. just flashed «fail» notice.
drink: limon nestea: .99+? =1.23
–no real lemon juice, natural juices with high frutose,
–semisweet

–just grabbed drink before meter people arrived
–4 stars for having 2 friendly cashiers
–will return when i figure out where to park.

This place has a great beer selection at a decent price. Their bottles of Rodenbach are about $ 10 which is less than Whole Foods or the Trappist. They also have a handful beers that I haven’t seen before. Moe, one of the clerks, is super nice.

What a beer lovers gem! I grew up in Oakland all my life, and it wasn’t until my last trip home that I found this place.
They had a really great selection of hard to find craft beers, at very reasonable prices. They also had a great selection of local bay area craft beers. If you are a beer lover then this place is just waiting for you to discover it.
I almost want to give this place bad reviews so it doesn’t blow up and it can be my little beer secret every time I go home. Sadly though it just has to be shared with the world!
