If you want a nice clean cut come here at blitz barber shop and ask for Chicago. He’s their latest barber, but he has plenty years of experience as a barber. I been getting my cuts from Chicago for about a year now and ya boy still hasn’t made a mistake. He’s very consistent with giving clean cuts.

This is my new shop for me and the boys. Tre is the man: professional and detailed. Prices are right, and the shop is clean with a relaxing atmosphere. 5 stars all the way.

went here again today. i still love this place. the wait is never too long. there is always plenty of free street parking on Sunday. I’m not sure why it isn’t packed all the time (but i’m glad). Finally got my hair cut by Jonathan again. He is the BEST. He is the one who taught me «shadow fade.» He also took time to explain the difference between a taper & fade the first time I got a cut from him. I don’t have to explain how i like my haircut, he just does it. Like he understands how it is suppose to be cut. It is like he is a professional barber. I like that I don’t have to worry when I sit there that my hair is going to be messed up.

Great customer service and really good with kids. My 6 year old will go here regularly now.

I’ve been going here since I moved into the fruitvale at the beginning of the year, and Tre has always taken care of me. Before I used to have a comb over and this time I went with an undercut. He did both better than I have had just about any other barber do. It took some time but he really puts the effort in. I don’t think I will bother with another barber unless I move.

What a wonderful way to start my day. I received an excellent cut by Tre and had a blast hanging out! Very nice young men and they know how to treat a lady! Yes. I will be going back!

This was the first haircut inhale paid for in 25 years. Usually I just hit it with the #1 guard on my clippers and call it a day. I decided to try having a pro do it and was pleasantly surprised. Rock did a super clean job on my beard and a nice taper up top. The real magic happened when she put some pomade in. The only downside is it looks a little puffy without the pomade, so needs maintenance now that I have never had to do in the past. Not Rock’s fault, just need to keep growing out the top :)

I like this spot. Has a laid back vibe. Go on Sunday and visit Rock. She’ll hook you up with a nice cut and her conversation is good. When I walked in there was just one person ahead of me and I was out of there rather quickly considering. I will definitely be going back to Rock, she’s my new barber no doubt.

My son has been going to this shop for five years. He has seen a variety of barbers and they all have been wonderful. When he was 2 – 3 years old they made a point to cut his hair along his pattern and not line his front since their hairlines grow in later. As he has gotten older they cut his hair to give him a great style. He is 9 now and also is privy to their deep conversations pertinent to the black community. As a woman, I can discuss his issues as a young growing male and be given great advice. They drive home parent issues and concerns while leaving young men with a great sense of pride. He walks out of the shop every time feeling handsome and confident.
Their prices are super reasonable. His cuts are $ 12-​$ 15.

This is my go to barbershop since moving to oakland from Fairfield. It’s always hard to find a new barber when moving from a new city. You have to find the right spot and right barber. Located in the laurel district, the area is nice family owned business area. Ro is my barber and very personable, his cuts are clean and sharp and timely. The whole shop is clean and the other barbers are engaging. The shop has a few tv’s with cable, so you can watch the game while getting cut. Prices are reasonable, the same as every urban shop in the bay but the experience is worth it. Blitz is the spot

I was most impressed by how fast Tony is. I stopped going to my last barber because he took an hour to cut my hair. It takes Tony 10 minutes to cut and line me up. He’s consistently good and I look great when I leave.

Pretty chill barbershop. Got a haircut yesterday and received great service for an affordable price. I got cut by tone and he was super quick and didn’t leave any scars the following day after inspection. If you’re looking for a quality barbershop check this place out.

I’ve been going to Q for almost 10 years. First when the store was called Buttercutz and now Blitz. Q has always given me the best haircuts with no hassle and he is willing to fit you in whenever his schedule permits. I would recommend anyone in Oakland looking for a nice family-​oriented shop to stop by Blitz.

Yesterday i got a haircut and honesty i felt like i got ripped off for payin 25 dollars for this, first of all it he did not use a hot towel on my face before using a blade so that my face wouldnt get irritated and as a result today i woke up with scrapes and burns on the back and front of my neck… the cut wasnt so bad but i felt like he needed to b more aware of what hes doing and on the process of using his blade. he cut himself and completely stop using it after. I had to ask him to continue what he was doing in order for him to start again. he also did my beard a little uneven and said hd was done like everything was perfect i had to ask him to fix that as well. i though he would give a discount for all the little screw ups but i thought wrong. 25 dollars isnt a lot of money but i have never paid that much for a line up and beard trim. Some people really seem to like it here. I guess it depends who you go to but it isnt for me. All these cuts and burns arent worth it.

Seems like a nice, family-​run shop, which is always great to see. And it also seems from the reviews that some of the barbers there really know their shit. But the cut I got was easily among the worst I’ve ever had. I’m not fixin to put anyone on blast, (but I could, and I could add pictures) but damn.
I was trying to get a quick temple fade and lineup for a date. I called in advance and asked how long it would take, they said 20 minutes. Shit took 2+ hours, so I was late. Then when I’m actually in the chair, dude leaves cuts to my skin around the line up, didn’t ask how I wanted the sideburns so he took em from fat to skinny and the fade blend wasn’t nice. Like it wasn’t bad, but it wasn’t dope. Then I told him to leave my mustache and goatee connected, but instead he cuts it into two pieces and doesn’t even get all the stubble from my cheeks and neck. The whole time the guy is constantly talking about his life and shit. And then as insult to injury charges 23 bucks and doesn’t have change for 30.
I will definitely never go there again.

Quincy or Q has been my barber for over 11 years now and I wouldn’t go to anyone else. Infact, I used to live in Oakland so it was a convenient 5 minute drive away; now I live in fairfield and I STILL will only come here for a cut!
I’ve never had any complaints in all of the time I’ve been getting my cuts here Q really takes pride in both his work and his shop and all of the barbers create a great flow and a fun environment. He is ALWAYS willing to accommodate my busy work schedule, often coming in early just so I can get my cut.
People have suggested that now that I’m farther away to find another barber but no way! No matter how far I go, I’ll always come back to Blitz Barbershop and recommend you do to.

I’ve lived in Oakland for 4 years now. for the 1^st year, i tried so many barber shops, i cannot even count. I also shaved my head so many times after getting a cut, that my wife said i was going to go bald from the stress of dealing with a bad cut.
Then i found Q and Blitz Barbershop! I went in after reading a few reviews. One reviewer, telling everyone he is White, made me slightly nervous. Only because i am white/​mexican, and thought i might be ignored as well. That was, thankfully, not the case. I was welcomed with a hello, whats up, or yo from everyone in the shop. I felt instantly comfortable.
I sat in Q’s chair and left with a clean cut! walked back home and the wife knew instantly i found my new spot… 4 years later it’s still the only place I trust in the bay!
