Meet the Business Owner

Basil G.

Business Owner

Basil grew up in Berkeley, playing in tree houses and studying classical piano. He spent his summers in Provence at his grandfather’s house– a haven of artists and writers, pastis and foie gras, rigorous discussion and beautiful settings.

He attended UC Berkeley where he studied French Literature and Film. He then trained as a photographer in Berlin, working in a studio focused on portrait and product photography, where he learned both classical techniques and innovative approaches to the craft.

He has worked for Siemens, Yelp, the East Bay Leadership Council, as well as various local startups, artists and private events. His ongoing goal is to make every shot unique and stunning. A playful approach, a sharp eye and dedication to technique define his style.

He is also director of photography at Last Wave Film and Heartwave Media, with which he collaborates creatively around the Bay Area and occasionally the world. His mantra is: you have to know the rules in order to break them.
