I have to echo Sarah’s sentiments that are so well written. I have been with Dr. Bartner for quite a while and I have found him to be a profoundly competent and caring doctor. My issues are deep and complex, and he has stayed with me through a lot of difficult times. He communicates with my psychiatrist and hospital staff when I need inpatient care, and does not charge me for those calls, which he could. I am getting stronger and healing with his essential help. He is not inexpensive, but will work with you on a financial arrangement. He is highly skilled at what he does, and so the money is worth it. I feel blessed to have found him.

Robert Bartner, PhD is a favorite professor of mine from CIIS. He invests deeply in his students, I had a great experience of him as my clinical supervisor as well as attending his consultation group.

It took this guy a full week to return my phone call looking to see if he was accepting new patients. I had called him a total of three times within this time period with a few days in between each call/voicemail. When he did return my phone call, he was barely apologetic. For me, that is not someone I would feel comfortable going to for therapy. Overall, I’d say choose another therapist.
