Clara is terrific. She worked with us remotely but was so responsive to all my questions and concerns. I can’t stress enough how much of a difference it makes when I’m working with a contractor, we encounter an unforeseen issue, I email her with an urgent question, and she replies right away. Of course, her artistic skill and design speak for themselves. I would definitely recommend her if you don’t want stress during your decorating process.

I am SO happy to have found Clara. My husband and I recently moved from a small apartment in Brooklyn to a cottage in the Bay Area. We barely had any furniture and the thought of decorating all of this new-​found space rendered me catatonic. I came home from work everyday totally frustrated and a bit guilty because I couldn’t figure out how to decorate this place on my own.
Clara came all the way to the foothills of Mt. Diablo for our consultation, where we talked about my design aesthetic, very small budget, and two cats who like to tear up rugs. She made a lot of great recommendations, created mood boards, and was very responsive throughout the entire design process.
In the beginning of the process I couldn’t put a finger on what my design aesthetic was. I love vintage items but find too much «stuff» makes me feel uneasy. Clara helped create a warm and inviting space while managing to keep my minimalist preferences in mind. I tend to obsess about details and Clara dealt with this very kindly (which i really appreciate because I know it’s frustrating!).

Clara of Banner Day Consulting got my family and me through an incredibly stressful move with such efficiency and grace. I was 9 months pregnant with our first baby, and on bed rest with a series of complications, when my husband learned that he would have to relocate from Southern California to Las Vegas for work. Barely able to get out of bed, I was in no state to coordinate a move, let alone furnish or organize a new home.
Enter Clara and her amazing sense of order, style and economy. With nothing but a couple of inspiration photos for direction, Clara took up residence in our brand new, completely empty, 4,000 square foot house and proceeded to fill it top to bottom with EVERYTHING our family needed to make it a home. She artfully decorated every room (3 bedrooms, a nursery, an office, 4 bathrooms, a formal living room, family room, kitchen, dining room, patio), selecting furniture, rugs, art, lighting and other decorative touches that were chic, perfectly functional for our lifestyle and expertly sourced at very budget-​friendly prices. Our home is in a new development; several visitors, including our broker, have commented that our décor outshines the model homes. Yes, I live in one of THOSE homes now — the ones that look like they would be in a magazine or on HGTV. As someone who has never had a strong talent for interior decorating, walking around our beautifully styled home still makes me giddy.
Though I am over the moon about how elegant our home looks, what really set Banner Day apart from other services out there was not just the decorating, but the incredible attention to detail underlying that décor. I’m talking about the real life practical stuff involved in moving into a new home. While I was still in California, Clara greeted our moving truck and unpacked our boxes, organizing all our household and personal items in our new home — from clothes, to kitchen utensils, to books, to family photos, to baby supplies, to all the other miscellaneous items that clutter up a house. Clara sorted through all of it, purging the old, polishing up the dirty and then making thoughtful purchases to supplement where we were missing basic household items. Two months later, I finally arrived in Las Vegas with a newborn and walked into a completely move-​in ready home. All of my belongings perfectly organized throughout the house, a pantry and fridge fully stocked with staples, bathrooms cabinets with extra toilet paper, soap refills and cleaning supplies, detergent in the laundry room and spare light bulbs in the utility closet. These sound like little things, but were so luxurious in a brand new home, especially with a new baby to attend to.
It has now been nearly three months since Clara moved us into our home. Even now, I still stumble upon little reminders of the meticulous care she took in assembling our new lives — baby clothes hung on tiny hangers in size and color order, lipsticks sorted by brand and shade, dividers and baskets throughout our cabinets and drawers so that everything has its own perfect little place. In the aftermath of an unexpected move with a newborn, our lives have actually become more orderly (and so much more stylish!!) thanks to Clara’s flawless execution.

As a first time homeowner, I had a lot of ideas and also a lot of anxiety about transforming my new coop apartment into a home. I had moved so many times and had such a crazy assortment of used furniture and accumulated stuff that I didn’t know quite where to begin when it came time to furnish and style my new, permanent space.
Banner Day helped me through the entire process from start to finish, from all the mundane details to the major decisions, from choosing paint colors to selecting the perfect dining room table, from hiding unsightly wires to organizing large storage spaces. And Clara dealt with every challenge expertly and patiently. She also kept us well within my budget, partly by cleverly and creatively re-​purposing items I already had. And she has a very good sense of where to save and where to splurge! She was also able to understand, and then enhance, my family’s style so I was left with spaces that really felt like us.
Clara is also a joy to work with — I never want to go shopping again without her! Her energy, good taste, efficiency, and sense of fun are truly unique.
I honestly don’t know where I’d be without Banner Day! Clara exceeded every expectation and transformed my home into a place I truly love and look forward to spending time in with my family.

Clara was an integral part of my move into our new home. Prior to the move, she gave me lots of tips to stay organized and efficient on moving day. She suggested I number each room so the movers knew where the boxes were going, instead of dumping them all over the house. She also came and looked at our new place and gave me suggestions on how to maximize storage and also some décor ideas that are toddler & dog friendly.
On moving day, she came armed with signs with the numbers assigned to each room. She also had a sign for the entry way that directed the movers in the direction of the numbered rooms. Even though our movers were 2 hours late, Clara stayed with us and unpacked my daughter’s room. She went over furniture placement with us, unpacked her dresser (with drawer organizers that she bought) and made her bed and laid some toys out!
A few days later, Clara came back armed with bags of goodies for me. She brought over baskets, bins, kitchen organizers and shelves. In this new house, I had to combine our linen closet, medicine cabinet and extra toiletries. I gave her all of the boxes that belonged in there and she made it pretty and organized for me. She grouped things together (dental, eye care, medicine, baby, etc …) in the bins and even labeled them for me.
On top of being so organized and neat, she’s also great with her décor advice. She gave us lots of suggestions for new pieces of furniture, rugs, etc … that she thought would work here. We exchanged many emails and she even helped us source some things. Thankfully she also talked us out of a lot of exiting trends. She really has her pulse on design. We LOVE the jute rug that she suggested for us and we are happy that we listened to her and got a coffee table. What I’m even more impressed by is that she was able to sway my husband on décor items, which is next to impossible. He’s very opinionated about furniture and she made some suggestions that I never thought he’d go for and he did!
Basically, the way my house looks is in large part due to Clara — either directly or indirectly. I’d love to bring her back soon to help me with our master closet!

I moved into my townhome 10 months ago and still had not done much to my living room and dining room areas. I recently saw Clara’s FB posts of previous and current projects and was very drawn to her sense of style. I sent her pictures of my space as it was and she asked me a few questions to get a feel of the look I was hoping for… subtle mid century modern. She gave me some suggestions to expand and improve on my space and was able to put together a mood board in which I fell in love with immediately.
She listened and was very accommodating to my lifestyle bc I have two toddler boys and wanted everything in my living room to be functional, practical, and kid friendly. Not only did she deliver on kid friendly and functional, she made the space very stylish. She also made my dining room area look very chic. Everything tied together well… neutral with mid century touches.
Clara was very patient and easy to work with. She was warm and open to listening to all my particulars. She was very thoughtful in all her ideas and design choices. I trust her choices and am extremely satisfied with the results. My family came over a few days after Clara’s final touches and they were quite impressed with the change in my home. They said the home felt warm and was beautifully decorated. I am one happy client!

Banner Day Consulting exceeded all of my expectations, and I love the new look of my house! I initially asked Clara if she could help with reorganization and styling of a few bookcases that needed some serious help. Clara recommended several options that were well within my budget, and came up with some other ideas to help spruce up my home (still within budget). She recognized immediately that I was too busy to deal with a lot of little things that were making my home look a lot more cluttered and disorganized than I would like.
After leaving Clara in my house for a few hours (hassle free for people who have to be at work all day! another huge plus!) I came back to a home that felt like mine, but so much better! Clara had thoughtfully and beautifully organized my overflowing bookshelves, created a fantastic gallery wall out of my mismatched art, and left a lot of little surprises that make using my kitchen and office a treat (hello, organized grill tools)! Clara was recommended to me by a good friend and I’m so happy I found her. I had been using my office as a catch all for my junk. She helped me source affordable storage solutions and worked with my budget. She even drove to IKEA to pick up a heavy bookshelf for me and shopped at other stores to find me cute décor pieces. When she came over, she single handedly built the IKEA bookshelf that I picked out.
I had so much fun working with her. She has such a cheerful, flexible and easy going personality. Who knew cleaning and organizing could be so fun? I was very impressed by her professionalism as well.

She came over and we had a great initial consultation where she asked me a lot of questions about what my goals were and how I currently use the space.
