History
Established in 2000.
As a former newspaper photojournalist, I am hard-wired to look for that decisive moment that can tell a story, carry a feeling, or ask a question. My creative impulse is not about projecting my ideas onto the subject but rather looking for ways to capture their voice instead. This type of photography creates unique and authentic imagery that is constantly driving me to look further and work harder.
Steve Babuljak is an advertising and editorial photographer working with clients, publications, and creative agencies to produce storytelling images for organizations, businesses and institutions that exist to educate, help, and inspire others.

I graduated from San Francisco State with a degree in photojournalism and developed my skills working for different newspapers around the country. I’ve also traveled abroad to Central America and Asia for charitable projects which influenced my goal of conveying through my images the human truths that cross boundaries and borders. I’ve also expanded my skill set working for commercial clients over the years.
All of these types of work sharpened my ability to grab onto moments in time, to preserve and share them. In addition, my background also shaped my sense of professionalism, my respect for deadlines, and my adaptability to the changing circumstances of every photography project.
