My fiancé and I began our search for a home a year and a half ago. Since East Bay Modern was just a few blocks from us, we regularly visited their website as it usually contained the most relevant listings and was always up to date. We signed up and received Ary as our real estate contact and I’m so glad we were.
Ary took us to look at a few properties initially. He understood right away what we were looking for and suggested a few different properties that we fell in love with. We didn’t end up purchasing anything at that time, but kept in touch with Ary until we were ready to seriously start looking about 8 months later. He was wonderful about occasionally getting in touch with us without seeming overbearing or like he was just trying to make a sale regardless of how happy we were.
When we started looking again, we looked at a property almost every weekend for about three months. We put in half a dozen offers over asking, but were continuously outbid (nothing Ary could do about that, he was very knowledgable about the market and gave us great advice). Most of the properties were ones that we had found and asked to be shown, but the property we ended up purchasing was one that Ary suggested and we instantly fell in love with. He could tell we were disappointed about being outbid multiple times and so he brought us to a newly redeveloped community where the prices were fixed and we could choose some of the finishes. Ary understood the style of home we were looking for and the types of finishes we wanted and he was able to give us all of that in our limited budget.
To sum up our experience with Ary I would HIGHLY recommend him to anyone either selling or buying. We will be clients for the rest of our lives. Ary not only made us feel comfortable, but we walked out of a difficult experience with a friend. He understood right away what we were looking for, was willing to wait until we truly fell in love with something, and walked us through the entire home buying process (which was great as we were first-​time buyers). My husband and I worked with Ary on a 1031 Exchange, selling a condo in Williamsburg and purchasing a same value condo in San Francisco. It was challenging in many ways: First the complexity of the 1031 exchange process itself, second finding the right San Francisco property within a very short timeframe in an extremely competitive market, then securing a loan and finally completing the purchase electronically both within and outside the US (my husband was abroad).
