I offer architectural design services to residential and commercial clients throughout the Bay Area. My practice is distinguished by careful listening, thoughtful and creative design, and dedicated service – from initial designs to the exciting day you move into your new space. I constantly seek the ideal balance between all the goals and constraints of my projects: your needs and wishes, the existing context, and your budget and schedule. As an environmentalist, I encourage my clients to «think green» and often offer ways to lighten the project’s impact.

History

Established in 2007.

I began my practice out of a desire to be involved in all aspects of working with clients, and understanding the practice of architecture in a holistic way – seen not just from the vantage point of my desk, looking at a computer, but also in meetings with owners, engineers, and builders; in city planning and permitting offices; and at the job site, before, during, and after construction. Of course, there are rewards to creating beautiful designs on paper, but I find that being a part of the entire process leads to the deeper satisfactions of working as a team and seeing the improvement in people’s lives.

Business Owner

I’ve been practicing architecture in the Bay Area since 1999. I’ve worked at a number of excellent firms and gained experience in many project types, from small residential remodels and accessibility projects, all the way up to large commercial, retail, and performing arts buildings. I’m originally from the Midwest and have also studied literature and law; I find that these experiences are a great help in communicating, and in understanding the legal framework of building and planning codes that apply to building projects.
