Slim’s Bagels & Bialys

Been coming here for years. They got a great new layout. Bagels and food has always been great.

Hands down the BEST ice coffee around. Coffee lovers this is for you — must try! However, this place has really gone down the drain. The bagels are good, but the prices are outrageous. If you’re buying a sausage or bacon, egg & cheese bagel and a coffee, be prepared to spend at least $ 10… Prices like these you can go to the diner. Slims also went from being 24 hours to being open until around 4 pm. This used to be my local spot within walking distance, but now I would rather drive out of my way to get a bagel else where. Sorry, Slims!

Slim’s has some of the best bagels in Bayside. They’ve been around since i was at 203 and lasted throughout my years at Cardozo. Sadly i am now 25 and no longer live in the Bay, but whenever i am back to visit family I’m all about a brunch and 18 bagels (because when you buy 12, you get 6 free)! Very fresh/​large variety of bagel and cream cheese flavors.

Good bagels and staff is nice and quick. This is especially important when you are running in the morning.

Bialys are huge! The bagels are good!
The staff is friendly and the place is clean. If you want a good bagel in the area stop here they are good! Get a coffee and bagel or bialy and you are good to go!
You will be pleased with everything and most likely want to come back! These beat McDonald’s anyday!

Love going in when the bagels are nice and fresh with that chewy texture. My fav is the everything bagel with lox spread!!! So yummy and satisfying.

Freshest bagels ever!!! Their sandwiches and sides are all on point. If you are lucky, your bagel is bagged straight from their ovens

I’m a huge bagel fan I usually get everything bagel toasted with vegetable cream cheese. It came out perfect although I did ask for well done Nd it was a little too soft they need to toast there bagels more. Other than that everything else was good and prices are also good. I’ll definitely be back!

BEWARE!!! My husband went in to purchase a bagel, against my advice, because he needed something on the run. I was hoping that maybe things got better with the attitudes of the employees and price inconsistencies. Unfortunately, prices went up even more. Since my last review, the price went up 25 cents putting a bagel with bacon at $ 4.67. This is totally ridiculous considering that other bagel stores in the area, with better tasting bagels, are half the price. Save your money and travel another 5 minutes to Bagel Oasis which has far better tasting bagels for half the price.

Pretty solid bagels. If it wasn’t for the lack of seating inside and lack of parking outside I would definitely be going here more mornings. The scallion cream cheese on an everything bagel was delicious though

Oakland Gardens, I work here; it is like being held hostage by the food taliban. Usually I pack food and beverages for my work day as if I was embarking on some long arduous journey but for those days when I forget my lunch or a coworker wants company for the 15 minute walk to civilization, we usually go to Slim’s. The coffee is good and the bagels are fresh. The have standard sandwiches selections with Boars Head cold cuts. It passed my Tuna Salad test which involves a rigorous standard of evaluation based on a four scale rubric– freshness, taste, texture, Mayo factor. The fresh salads made to order are also appetizing. Now, if I could just figure out how to cross Horace Harding expressway without risking my life, I will be back soon because I am grateful this place exists or I would be at the mercy of the local food monopolies: McDonald’s and the corner Halal truck.

I would have given this nice little breakfast spot five stars, but my coffee was so cold I didn’t even drink it. Besides that their bagels are going to be my new morning pick me up.
I personally love their blueberry bagels, and cinnamon cream cheese.

It’s the best bagel joint in the area (Bagel Club is in another territory). Quick service and excellent bagels. Their BEC is tops in my opinion. Not a big pastry selection if you are looking to pair your bagel with something sweet. But the coffee is excellent (so is the iced one) and lots of other drinks to choose from. It’s a place I have to drive to, so it doesn’t always make the cut. But it’s worth it when in the mood to get into a car for me. The guys who run it are very nice and so are the guys taking the orders. Easy parking in the back too.

SLIM’S is MY go-​to place for bagels. You go in, get your order and you’re on your way. They offer no seating inside which keeps the line moving and almost every bagel is warm when packaged.
We drive to New Hampshire to see younger family members and each time they ask for Slim’s bagels and bialy. I call ahead and the order is ready when we get there. The car smells SO good all the way north.
There are at least 10 bagel shops in Great Neck and many more in surrounding villages on Long Island but a better bagel cannot be found.

Food: I had a salmon cream cheese on a bagel. They give you a crap load of salmon. You can’t help but stare at it for a while. Just take a look at my picture. It was really salty though. On the bright side the bagel was very soft.
Service: Love talking to the people here. Great friendly staff. If you ask them how they make their bagels, they will tell you and even show you the oven they use. I don’t doubt their authenticity for homemade bagels.
Environment: Its a bagel shop, you come in and you come out.
