Wesley Nursery School is a traditional preschool program for children aged 3 – 5 years old, and must be toilet trained. Our philosophy is that children learn through play, and we contribute to the learning process with language experiences, opportunities for creative expression, discovery, music, and movement. All teachers are fully certified. We offer flexible hours and enrichment programs, but we are not a full-​time daycare center.

History

Established in 1984.

Wesley Nursery School is a mission of the Oakhurst United Methodist Church, and welcomes children of all faiths. The mission is to provide quality preschool at an affordable price for all members of the community. The school began in 1984 with six students and one classroom and has grown over the years to serve between 75 – 90 students per year.

Joan B.

Manager

Joan received her undergraduate degree from Brown University in Providence, RI. She did graduate work in Early Childhood Education and Preschool Administration at the College of New Jersey, and spent nine years as a preschool teacher at Curiosity Corner in Asbury Park before joining Wesley as its director in 1998.
