Established in 2003.

Surface Solutions International, Inc. is a uniquely qualified decorative concrete service that is owned and operated by artisan Chris Stewart. He and a skilled team of craftsmen work to produce unique, one-​of-​a-​kind projects throughout Central California, the Sierra Foothills and the San Francisco Bay Area, from Fresno, Madera and Merced to Yosemite to Marin. The company is defined by its willingness and desire to serve as a creative concrete solution for both restoration and new concrete projects. Surface Solutions prides itself in the ability to collaborate with architects, designers, builders and homeowners to achieve the best possible outcome for each project. The use of up to date technologies, ownership involvement and true passion for the concrete medium drives the company’s success.

Meet the Business Owner

Chris S.

Business Owner

Chris owns & operates Surface Solutions International, Inc. He began his career in San Diego, CA working in basic concrete construction. There he was introduced into the world of decorative concrete while working with the first company to successfully challenge & defeat a patented concrete stamping process.

In 1979 Chris started his own decorative business in the San Diego area. Eventually he decided to join the network of Bomanite Corporation licensees which gave him exclusive rights to San Diego County. He continued as a Bomanite licensee for 15 more years where he created processes to evolve the decorative concrete industry. In 1997 Bomanite invited Chris to be a part of the ownership successor team where he would serve as VP of Technical Services. He was responsible for developing stamping tools, staining & dying techniques, concrete overlays, micro-​toppings, Grasscrete & related processes.



In 2002 he parted ways with Bomanite and Surface Solutions was born in 2003.
