The 2 gyms (Oakhurst and Mariposa) would be excellent with the right care and TLC.
Oakhurst is definitely the cleaner gym than Mariposa.
With Oakhurst, WiFi works and after hours, computer is unlocked to use Spotify.
Mariposa? Nope. All locked up and WiFi SUCKS. Why have TVs if they aren’t on? Come on, at least give me bandwidth for the Alex Jones show?
Oakhurst; Slightly cleaner than Mariposa. Newer equipment. Bathrooms can use better upkeep.
Men; Be careful with the lockers near showers. It’s unbolted, I damn near broke a lot of crap making sure my stuff was locked. Oops.
Mariposa? Don’t even bother bringing a gym bag. Their lockers are surplus school lockers.
Oakhurst; I mentioned there’s ample equipment. Both gyms is cardio upstairs. Oakhurst has a tanning booth, which I will never use.
Mariposa; OLD, OLD shotty equipment. I think Muscle Beach in Venice has newer equipment. No exaggeration. See pics.
Price; See various prices inside I guess. Pretty high for access to only 2 gyms.

For a small town, this gym is adequate. Weight room, aerobic machines, two racquetball courts, two tanning booths. Locker/​restrooms are fairly clean.
Front desk attendants are helpful and friendly.
It desperately needs better ventilation and many of the machines remain out of order for months.
I’ve repeatedly asked them to NOT play Fox News on the tvs as it is personally offensive to me but I never receive a response.

I stopped in after Yosemite and asked «how much for one workout». $ 7. This is a fair price. I was on my chest bicep day. They have 2 flat benches, one incline and one decline. They are fully stocked on dumbbells to well over one hundred pounds.
The weights are the older steel style that is harder to get off the racks (okay — this is not a big deal). The gym was quiet when I looked in Friday at 2 PM. I worked out 11 AM on Saturday to 1 PM. There were 4 of us in the weight area. The two locals knew what they were doing. I like this b/​c when you’re benching 275 you want a couple of chaps around who can save you if you mes up.
There was cardio upstairs. It ain’t 24 Hour Fitness Super Sport. I only wanted to do 20 on the bike b/​c I had hiked 6 miles and was slated for a 7 mile hike tomorrow.
Straps were missing on the bikes. Grrr… But well worth my $ 7 (trust me the $ 75 another gym wanted in Tahoe for a workout and the $ 60 for one workout at the Steve Nash gym in Vancouver).
Chap at the front desk was friendly. We chatted about how people here read books as opposed to e-​readers.
FYI — my pecs hurt. Good workout.
