I’m from out of town and looking to purchase a mobile wifi hotspot. No sales is necessary — I knew what I needed, and I even wanted something top of the line. From the beginning, the salesperson(seemingly the manager) was strangely hostile and questioning. When I stated explicitly that I was not interested in a contract, I was forced to explain myself.(I spend a lot of time overseas, and wanted to be able to cancel my mobile service if I wanted to) Once we got through to the transaction, it took another hour before we spoke about price. Little did I know that this store charges MUCH more than other Verizon stores or what you can get from Verizon directly online. Online, I found the unit for $ 199 — this store wanted nearly $ 300 for the same unit. To make it even worse, the guy tried to sell me an obviously used unit as new. Despite multiple objections, he INSISTED that it was a new unit. The box was crushed and scratched, the unit had no plastic and had scratches on it, etc. Once I found out they wanted nearly $ 300 for the unit(when I could get a certified used one from Verizon for $ 120) I declined to continue. At that point, the manager was flummoxed and kept asking me if I was sure. Yes, I’m sure I don’t want to pay 50% more for a used item. So, what do I do? I run down the street to the other Verizon store in town, and purchase the unit for *SHOCK* $ 198 — LESS than it was online, in fact. When I arrived, I explained that I had started the process at another store. After a bit of research, they found out that the individual from the previous store had submitted TWO applications!!! Everyone at the store agreed that it sounded fishy. Why would he be submitting two separate applications under my name? Thank goodness I declined — but I’ll still be looking to see what might come of the phantom app in the future. Once I received the new unit, it was clear the other one had been used and returned. The unit had a plastic sleeve, and plastic all around to protect the unit. As well, the battery had a plastic piece to prevent damage to the battery and from charging down. I’ve always avoided resellers for this specific reason — but being hawked a patently used unit for 50% more is ridiculous. Use caution.

Not the best wireless store that existed. If you want to pay CASH for your bill, this location will charge you $ 3. In 24 months, you’ll have spent an extra $ 72. That’s a lot of gas! As to customer service, it’s nothing special. Never got a smile, just a hi how can I help you with a sighing breath. Accessories are way overpriced. If the clerk here had offered a lowered plan, I might have took it. Oh well, Verizon and Ensignal are losing a customer… I was also told by a sales associate that my S5 was not GSM and unusable on other networks. I called both Verizon Corporate, ATT, AND t mobile. The verdict? Bullshit. My S5 is GSM and usable on other networks. Who hoo, because I almost spent $ 400 on a new phone.
