History
Established in 1980.
In 1980 Glen Moore and Sandy Baker, of Oakhurst, started what was then a yard sale of items that they had collected over the years. They sold right along highway 41 on a commercial piece of property that Glen owned for ten years. They then rented the building that became available across the street from them. They have have been in two different locations since moving into the first building. We are still on highway 41 right next door to Best Western Motel. Glen and Sandy have built a very successful and are a well known business worldwide. We have had travelers from all over the world come into our store and become good friends with many of them. Glen passed in 2012 and Sandy is semi-retired, but their business is being well taken care of by their granddaughter that they raised, Natashia, and her husband, Robert. They plan to carry on the business for many years to come and carry on the legacy of the 41 Trading Post that Glen and Sandy created.

Business Owner
Hello! I grew up in the 41 Trading Post as it grew to be one of the most successful businesses in the mountain community of Oakhurst. At 8 years old I started running the register in my grandparents’ shop. I greeted and helped customers, learned how to do inventory and eventually did some of the ordering and bookkeeping. By age 12 I had my own business within the shop where I sold items that I picked out and bought through catalogs and trade shows that I attended. After my grandfather’s passing in 2012 I inherited a percentage of ownership of the business. My grandmother and I own it and my husband and I run it. We have and always will be family owned and operated. I still carry all of the same items we always have and still order from our awesome reps and vendors that we created relationships with years ago. They have seen our business and I grow together and I hope to someday pass it along to my children and grandchildren.
