The purpose of Jenny Hanlon Consulting is to provide support and guidance to professionals who work with children and to parents of children from birth to the early teen years. Through over 15 years of experience working with children, parents, teachers, and raising her own kids, Jenny provides tools and resources to empower children so they can grow to be genuinely happy and confident.

Jenny Hanlon offers consulting sessions for parents who have questions and/​or concerns about their children ages birth to the early teen years. These questions and concerns may include, but are not limited to, behavioral struggles, power struggles, strong-​willed children, persistent children, parent-​child relationship struggles, troubles in school, etc. Jenny meets with parents in the privacy of their own homes, at her office in Oakdale, MN or, if outside of the Twin Cities metro area, via Skype, Google Hangouts, or phone.

In addition, Jenny offers classes (in person and online) for parents on a variety of topics. These topics include, but are not limited to, families and technology, raising confident girls, girls and body image, challenging children, finding self-​control, children and motivation. These classes are offered privately, but Jenny can also be contracted to come lead them at a location of your choice. Jenny also offers some classes specifically for children.

Jenny also offers workshops to organizations that work with children.

History

Established in 2009.

Jenny Hanlon had been offering classes to parents and teachers through the schools she had been working in since 2000. As she continued this it was obvious to her that parents wanted more. They began asking if she’d be willing to come to their home to offer private parenting sessions. After much thought, consideration, and discussions with others in similar fields, Jenny launched her company with a large focus being on the one-​on-​one private parenting consultation sessions.

The company was originally named Parent & Teacher Support Services. In 2012, Jenny changed the name to Jenny Hanlon Consulting right as her new book, Your Family Compass: A Parenting Guide for the Journey was released.

Jenny Hanlon has a B. S in Child Psychology and a M.Ed. in Family Education along with licensures in both early childhood and parent education. She has been working with families for over 15 years in a variety of settings.

Jenny published her first book in October 2012, Your Family Compass: A Parenting Guide for the Journey.

Jenny teaches parent-​child classes at The Children’s Farm in West Lakeland, MN and is the Director of Summer Staff Relations. From 2007 – 2013 she was also the Summer Program Director, supervising and training the summer intern teachers and overseeing all other aspects of the summer program.

As one of the Founding Teachers of Dodge Nature Preschool, Jenny taught preschool, lead parent workshops, and was also the Assistant Director from 2000 – 2004.
