I ate here several times and enjoyed the food. Last time I went to wash my hands in restroom and saw dead roaches on floor. I was so grossed out. I will not be returning here ever again.

Hot braised chicken– a favorite of many people & for good reason, it’s absolutely delicious! Great service as well.

Stopped here on our way back from vacation. We had hot and sour soup, sweet and sour prawns, and cashew chicken. The hot and sour soup was great. The prawns do not have pineapple; you have to ask for it, and if you want a lot of that, ask for a lot. The cashew chicken, we weren’t sure why they called it that because it had only a few cashews and we’re used to that being one of the main ingredients. They should put more cashews and charge slightly more, IMO. I should have just asked for more cashews as a side! All of this being said, the ingredients were very fresh and the food was excellent. We’d go back.

Ordered Orange Chicken combination plate with pork chow mein noodles, fried rice and a egg roll. Also side appetizer fried prawns. Everything was hot right off from the kitchen. If your ever passing thru town of Oakdale stop by at China House. And enjoy some hot food or to go.

Stopped here on the way back from Yosemite. The service was fantastic and the food was good, but not the best I’ve ever had. Still, for being in a small town in the middle of nowhere, it was pretty impressive. They don’t have a combination listed for sweet and sour chicken on the menu, but they let us substitute chicken for pork without any problems.

Best salt and pepper shrimp I have ever had!!! Great and fast service. I called it in on my way to work and it was hot and ready when I went to pick it up.

Not sure if they have a new cook, but our food was horrible… across the board. The pork was full of gristle, the chicken was undercooked in the Kung Pao chicken, the sweet and sour soup was bland-​even after adding chili sauce. I’ve lived in Oakdale over 40 years. I will not be back.

Very good. The entrée was huge. Enough for two normal appetite. We were 4 only one did not like her entrees. We tried the basic combinations. We recommend

Delicious food! Not a big fan of the kung pao but the sweet n sour pork was soo good. The waitress was very patient with the kids and even came over n played a little game with them. Brought paper n pens

The best Chinese food in Oakdale! Hey the peanut butter chicken salad on the side! You will love it! So good! They do not disappoint! They do togo too.

This is the first time Unilocal has let me down. This place is so unhealthy, beyond unhealthy it makes Panda Express look like a healthy high end food spot. Don’t go here unless you like super greasy, greasy weird tasting Chinese food.

The servings here are huge you could easily share it with another person. It came out piping hot and was really good. It was a little strange looking at the size of the town. Truly a gem. I will definitely return when I’m in the area!

We stopped in for dinner on way back from Jamestown today partly based on Unilocal but mostly because it was open on Mon and our first picks from Unilocal were not. Turned out to be a great choice. Service was great and food was surprisingly good. Would stop in again if out this way.

Fantastic food and service. Went with the family (8people) and we were all delighted to have our delicious food arrive in a timley manner. Totally will be back soon

We came here on our way home from Yosemite. I wish this restaurant were closer to my house because I would love to be a regular here.
The food was excellent — great quality ingredients, big portions, awesome flavor, perfect seasoning, and not greasy. The attentive service was the cherry on top! You can tell the owners put a lot of care and effort into the restaurant.
Hot & sour soup — best I’ve had in a long time. It was chunky because they used so many ingredients.
Mushu pork with crêpe skins — my favorite dish of the night.

Great chiness food. I shared the family plate totally go there and has good service. Great price.

You know when you’re driving through a random small town and you want chinese food, but, you’re terrified that the offering will be god awful? China House is the restaurant that makes that gamble pay off.
It’s a small-​ish family-​run restaurant in Oakdale, right off the main drag. The real estate was probably a fast food joint, but, it’s bright and clean and they’ve done the best they can with the décor given the the fast-​food set up.
The food is great. Not «OMG this is the best Chinese food I’ve ever had» great. But, «as good as most places you’ll eat in the Bay Area if not better» great. The pot stickers area made fresh and the sizzling rice soup is delish! My husband ordered beef and broccoli spicy, and it was HOT! A rarity! Such a treat!
Best of all, we had our 19 month old with us and they were so kind. The server brought out a little bowl of rice as soon as we sat down, didn’t bat an eye as most of it ended up on the floor. And the owner of the restaurant came by to chat and coo over him (I’m a sucker.)
If you’re heading home from Yosemite, this is a great pitstop. Give it a try! And if you’re a local, support this business!

I’ve been here a few times and it’s always been good service and even better food. It’s reasonably priced and big portions. The chow mien has huge noodles. I love when it asparagus season, the make the best fried asparagus. The fried zucchini is yummy too. Like I said service with a smile when you arrive and you’ll be smiling when you leave. Oh ya, the deliver too!

China House has the best Chinese food I’ve ever tasted. I’ve tried a million places all over and none compare to the consistency in taste. I lived in Oakdale for 10+ years and it’s the only restaurant we faithfully visit. The owners, Joy and her family, are amazing! Always kind, joyful, and they treat us like family.
I have to admit, my favorite thing here is their chow mein noodles! They’re huge, love it! My dad and I go here about once or twice a month for a father-​daughter lunch. I’ve never not had a great meal here. And Joy lets me customize my meal however i’d like. Hold this. Add this. Extra chili paste ;)

I’ve stopped there on my way back from Yosemite, picking the place quite randomly.
It was a really nice surprise. There is a lot of room, food is very cheap and rather tasty and the staff are amazing. Extremely attentive and helpful.
