Ditka’s gives new meaning to bad service. Since the food is pretty much ordinary, and the ambiance is non-existent. We arrived with four adults and three young kids for a Father’s day brunch. We were early, and the restaurant was only half full at the time. Little kids means order quick — we did. Ordinary stuff. It’s brunch after all. Eggs and bacon. The the wait began. From the time we put our order in until we got served was nearly an hour. Finding our server required getting up and wandering around. The manager came by and said«it will be out soon.» He definitely needs a refresher course in customer service too. The food arrived — finally — and was passable. It’s pretty hard to ruin eggs and bacon. The price — in appropriately high. The service — attrocious Would I go back? Not ever. I suggest you don’t either. PS. It didn’t look like anyone was getting served any faster.

I just came here today for Father’s Day and the food was great, complimentary valet parking was great — everything was great except the waitress. Didn’t bother refilling our glasses which I was hoping she would get a hint since they were purposely placed on the edge of the table. Overall my experience was great.

We have been going to Ditka’s for many years. We made a reservation for dinner and specifically requested a table in the front area of the restaurant. My husband is disabled and is unable to sit in a booth. Walking longer distances is also difficult for him. We arrived at the restaurant and the host, who probably never even read our reservation, proceeded to take us to a booth in the front area. There were lots of open tables in the area. In fact, the restaurant was mostly empty as it was only 4:30 on a weeknight. I asked if we could have one of the tables and the host said that they were being held for reservations. He then offered us a booth in the bar area. I told him that we needed a table not a booth. He then led us to the back area. The back area was also empty but then he suddenly remembered that it was being held for reservations. I then reminded him that we did have a reservation and he said that he didn’t make the table arrangements and that the reservations were for larger parties. He led us back to the front of the restaurant and offered us a booth in the bar once again. By this time my husband was limping from walking back and forth, and I told the host to just forget about it. I reminded him to make sure our reservation was canceled in the computer as we were walking out. He had already moved on to another task and didn’t seem concerned that he had lost customers. As of this moment our reservation still hasn’t been canceled, hopefully this gets taken care of because I don’t want to have to contact the reservation service. Very disappointing!!!

I wish I was writing this review giving Ditkas a 5star. I walked in expecting to be blown away. We arrived promptly for our reservations and had a bit of a wait which was no issue. The hostess staff was great as we waited at the bar. Ordered appetizers and they were fantastic. Some of the best calamari I have ever had. After the appetizers the waitress accidentally dropped a glass that got me wet and left broken glass on the floor and the table. They cleaned up the glass on the floor and the manager came over to make sure I was okay. I was a bit wet but I understand accidents happen. We ended up cleaning up the glass on the table and asking for new plates because I wanted to make sure I wasn’t going to eat glass. I feel they should have cleaned up the glass on the table. Next comes our meal. My meal came, I put the sides on my plate including lobster that reordered for the table and was excited to cut into my medium-rare steak. My steak was well done. A different manager came by to ask how the meal was and I let him know my steak was not cooked to order. Three of us in the party ordered medium-rare and all were medium to medium-well, however I was the only one that sent my steak back. They did offer to bring me something while I waited but I declined thinking it would be quick for them to cook another steak the way I ordered. Most of the table was finishing up their meal when I got my steak back. They did fire new scallops which I appreciated however they did not return or bring me the sides back so I missed out on those(including the lobster that was originally on my plate) The new steak was cooked correctly however the temperature of my meal was lukewarm. They did comp a desert for me and I appreciated that. We had a party of six and the only person that raved about their food was the person that ordered salmon. For a meal that cost us $ 628, it should have been fantastic. I had previously heard rave reviews so maybe the kitchen was a bit off last night but because of that I probably wouldn’t choose to come back.

This was my wife’s first mother’s day and the service was excellent. Our child spit up on her and the floor and a servers was right there helping her. Most people run from spit up, but the server did not. The food is always good here.

Came here for my niece’s birthday. It was a night where it was low key and quite. Which was perfect actually. It was nice for all of us to be able to hear each other. The food was great and our host was very pleasant. The food was great. However it says what it is. It is pricy.

The filet mignon salad was pretty good! The service was okay. The drink selection looked good. The map from Apple through Unilocal seems to take you to the mall. It’s across the street and attached to the office building.

Very disappointed. I had such high hopes for this place, considering all the great reviews. My bf had always wanted to eat here, so I surprised him for his birthday. He ordered the kick ass paddle steak medium well… it came charred on the outside and rare on the inside. I ordered the bbq ribs, and it tasted as though they’ve been out for a while, the temperature was barely warm… definitely not fresh. The bbq sauce was thick & chunky as if the first couple layers of sauce dried out and they just put more on top. The fries were cold and hard. We did get fresh fries, but over all the food was horrible. The service and the free flour less cake they gave us for my bf birthday were the only things that were good. We do not plan to visit again, not worth the $ 100 bucks I paid that night.

Very very good fish. Tortilla encrusted halibut is the best and you will always be treated with respect in the bar. Great place.

There aren’t many spots I would deem spots for celebrating. Ditka’s tops the list! From the elegant atmosphere of dimly lit and intimate seating to the immaculate dining areas, Ditka’s does not disappoint. The wait staff is amazing. They are lively and helpful, always ready to make a great recommendation. Every time I have ordered, the food comes out piping hot with barely any time to wait. The food is absolutely delicious. I have had several dishes here that I would try again any day. Chicken piccata is great, the crab cakes are divine, and the king salmon is tasty. They’ve got a great wine list and the visit here is always so enchanting. My next celebration with definitely be here, maybe even sooner since I heard they serve breakfast on the weekends!

Came here for my B-Day, had a reservation and was seated promptly. The staff was very friendly and courteous. I ordered the pork chop. Not the best pork chop I’ve had but still enjoyed the perfectly cooked chop. It’s also kid friendly and very family oriented steakhouse which is always a plus.

Excellent options for parking… garage or valet. Food was delicious. I had the chicken. Pinot Noir was great. Staff wonderful. I think I like the Oakbrook location better than the Chicago. Very nice!

I brought my parents here for a special occasion and everyone enjoyed their dinner. We started off with the pot roast nachos, which had a good amount of melted ooey gooey cheese. I was happy with the coffee rubbed delmonico and the bf surprisingly finished his 16 oz new york strip. My dad also enjoyed the new york strip and my mom ordered the pork chops, which was a huuuuuge serving. The lobster mac and cheese was so-so and everyone liked the spinach and mushrooms. Overall, the meal was good. What I wasn’t happy with was where they sat us. We had proper reservations and they sat us in the booths next to the bar. What they didn’t mention is how loud and noisy that section would be. We could barely have a conversation without yelling across the table and leaning on the table. Not very considerate of them, especially when my parents are senior citizens! It really did kill the mood and dining experience. I would have definitely given this place 4 stars if it weren’t for the poor seating choice.

I got a $ 100.00 gift card to here. $ 70’00 for 2 burgers, small brisket nachos, 3 Guinness, 1 martini. Expensive? Yes. Worth it? Yes. Strange location. Our server, Jen, was very accommodating, and friendly. Would I go back? Yes, if I got another gift card. I just can’t afford it.

Went there with another couple on a friday night and we had a grand time. Were going to be seated by the bar but we asked for a different spot so we could talk to each other without having to raise our voices and they accomodated. I had the Maryland crabcrakes as an entrée and I didn’t know that it came with rice which was a nice surprise. We had calamari to share and had the lobster mac n cheese as a shareable side between the 4 of us. The hubbies had their fill of steaks which as made as ordered. My girlfriend had the chilean sea bass which was cooked perfectly. Our server, Jen, was attentive and frequently checked on us. We ended our night with me getting the mango sorbet and the other couple sharing butter pecan ice cream.

This review is for brunch. Made a rez for a Saturday morning. Service and décor are great. There are a couple tv’s, which is always nice… But not so many that you feel like u are at a sports bar. I had chicken and waffles. Half a fried chicken on top of a sweet glazed waffle. I did not know the waffle was already sweet… So I do what I always do… Poor syrup all over everything. This was a mistake. I would honestly prefer a plain fluffy waffle. But the chicken was great! Huevos rancheros was delish. Definitely a little spicier than what you usually get from a non-Latin restaurant! Chipolteriffic. Pot roast hash did not disappoint.

We went Xmas eve and as usual it’s crowed and loud which is expected. This time I ordered the crab cakes. Worst meal I’ve ever ordered. They were way over seasoned. All I tasted was salt, or some kind of salty seasoning. As much as I like Ditkas, I was extremely disappointed. So I didn’t eat my dinner, thank god I got a salad or I’d have starved.

Pricey and relatively unimpressive is how I would describe Ditka’s. The best thing on the menu is the nachos. They are served with this awesome slow-roasted pork, green onions, cheese, tomatoes, and other things. If I were to ever return here, I would just get these and some alcoholic beverages. I had lunch here with a bunch of coworkers, and I ordered the two sliders with a salad. Let me tell you, the salad portion was sized for an infant. The sliders provided some substance, but their flavor was unimpressive. The burger quality was mediocre, like I could have done a better job on my grill at home with burger bought from Jewel. One of my coworkers asked for chicken to be added to her salad, and they charged her an extra $ 5! That made her lunch $ 18 + tax + tip!!! YIKES. I know Ditka’s is trying to be an upscale place with finer dining, but there are so many places in the Oak Brook area that can do it better. I hate leaving a place feeling like it was a waste of money.

The reasons for going to Ditka’s, my boyfriend saw the nachos and had to have them and he also wanted a steak. We were in Oak Brook for a wedding and found Ditka’s on Unilocal. We arrived pretty early for dinner as neither of us had eaten all day. We were sat immediately and our server was very quick to take our drink and food orders. The wine list did not disappoint and neither did the beer list. We ordered the nachos, half without meat since I am a pescetarian. They were good but I don’t think 17 dollars good. We also expected them to just put all the meat on one side, meaning the meat that should of been on my half, went onto his half. They did not do this and because of that I feel a little cheated, especially since these nachos were pricey. When dinner arrived, I had the Halibut. I have to say the Halibut was amazing! Highly recommend the item. My boyfriend on the other hand, was just eh about his steak. It was not as good as he was hoping for and actually said he would have gone for the Halibut if he knew his steak was going to be so disappointing. We also the trio of sides. The spinach was very salty. The lobster mac and cheese was very good. Happy we got the trio just to try it, instead of paying the 18 dollars for the side. We also had the sweet potatoes that were just ok. Nothing amazing, and I’ve had better and other steak houses. Overall, Ditka’s was an ok place. I do not live in Oak Brook but if I ever go back, I’ll probably try someplace different.

Came here on a business lunch since it was located in the office lobby. I cant really say anything super good or bad about this place. I had the salmon which came with an Asian sauce on a bed of stir-fried veggies and some sticky rice. I thought it was perfectly good although possibly a bit overcooked. This is your typical modern american restaurant with the dishes you’d expect for the most part. It is a bit on the pricey side, probably to take advantage of business folks in the building expensing their meals. If you work in this building or coming here on business, give it a shot why not. If you dont, I wouldn’t recommend wasting time.
