Granny’s Donuts & Bakery

So far I’ll give this place 5 stars. They get 5 stars because of the variety! Such a good selection of pastries I have to go back to try more. Also, they’re very organized and clean. My apple fritter and chocolate éclair is great and tasted fresh. I will be returning soon.

Stopped here on a whim after picking up some barbecue nearby. What a treat! Everything was totally fresh, even late in the afternoon on a weekend. Great selection and reasonably priced.

Yep… simply put… as good as it gets! :) Lots of choices… fresh and delicious!

Had been on quite the hunt for delisiousness and your run of the mill donut joint wasn’t cutting it. Not only were the Apple Fritters amazing but our little guy had a hay day with the choices he had. From red velvet to cream filled donut holes all the way to maple bacon and banana cream filled donuts! Yes, some where better than others but we were more than pleased! All in all 6 months in a new state and we found a winner! I want to meet this Granny!

Awesome freshly made doughnuts & fritters, just as good as their store in High Point, they have a store in Kernersville also, but I’ve never been to that one.
This store is a bit hidden, it’s in a row of strip shops behind a gas station which pretty much blocks it’s view from Hwy68. I’m in the neighborhood right often & I would have never known it was here had it not been for the Unilocal app on my phone while I was across the street at Tractor Supply over the weekend… I been missin’ out.

We live only a few minutes from this wonderful doughnut shop. My husband stops by there nearly every weekend to pick up a couple of our favorites. Currently I am in love with the cinnamon crumb dusted cinnamon roll. Previous favorites have been the buttermilk, Boston cream, blueberry, and old fashioned cake. No matter what your selection it will be fresh and delicious.

We just recently moved to Stokesdale, leaving behind an amazing doughnut shop. I was pretty sad about it, because it is hard to find a truly outstanding apple fritter the size and price of the ones I had become accustomed to.
As we were driving around, my husband and I noticed Granny’s Donuts & Bakery. On a whim, we pulled in, figuring we might as well give it a shot. We could always leave, right?
We walk in to a very clean establishment with two big cases of all kinds of delicious looking treats! I skipped over the stuffed doughnut holes, the red velvet doughnuts– even the maple and bacon doughnuts couldn’t hold me for long– and then there it was. An apple fritter. A huge apple fritter! I immediately ordered one, while my husband decided to go rogue and get himself a cherry fritter.
What I am about to say is going to be a very mixed blessing.
This apple fritter was BETTER than the one I left behind. About as big. Same price… better.
Pants, forgive me for the strain I will be putting on you as I fight the urge to eat these daily.
Seriously, the fritter is very light and FRESH FRESH FRESH. It isn’t weighed down with grease, it isn’t dry and it sure isn’t small! My husband’s cherry fritter was very good, but my heart belongs to thee, Apple Fritter.
There is only one other review for this place as of today (7÷30÷14) so I am going to go ahead and declare this the best kept secret in Guilford County :). Go try it!
By the way– yes… it’s not a trendy little hot spot where you sit around drinking your $ 12 fancy drinks and sucking up wifi. It’s a doughnut shop. You go in, you buy your dougnut, you sit down and eat it, or you go home. That’s it. That’s ok with me :).

Really good donuts! It’s basically just for donuts, too as it’s not really a hangout spot for coffee (though they do offer various coffees and have a few tables)…it’s just a good place to get delicious donuts… if you’re in the mood for Homer Simpson’s favorite treat.
One side has cake donuts, the other side has yeast donuts — so there should be limited complaints for varieties as there is plenty to offer.
Not sure what else to say… it’s a donut shop!
