Divine Consign is full of Upscale Resale Furniture and décor. From antiques to brand-​spanking new pieces, you will find everything to furnish (or re-​furnish) even the most swanky of places. All of our pieces are sold at prices we all can afford. We are not a musty old thrift store or a snooty antique store. We carry all of the major A-​list brands without all of the major prices. You want a $ 6,000 Bernhardt sofa? We got it — for $ 799 (Nope, we are not kidding). There are bargains all over the store and we get more everyday. You will learn quickly~ If you love it grab it because it won’t be there next time. Our turnover is incredible because or prices rock. We are open 7 days a week and have 7000 square feet of showroom space. We offer layaway and have a three day return policy — have you ever heard of a resale shop that has a return policy? We have delivery services and even an online store. We also accept consignments — Seriously, you will become addicted to this place!

History

Established in 2009.

Kellie Scott is making it happen in Oak Park. Divine Consign has filled a void in the Chicagoland area. We all now have a place to consign our unwanted or unneeded furniture and décor and to purchase quality pieces at fantastic prices. After graduating from DePaul University College of Law, Kellie Scott spent most of her career as an attorney but her passion was for design. She designed two projects showcased on HGTV — her last design project was a $ 2M dollar rehab of the William Stennet Home in Oak Park which won a Historic Preservation Award. Scott believes that great design shouldn’t be restricted to the wealthy — and thus, Divine Consign was born. Divine Consign offers an eclectic mix of furniture and furnishings consigned from all different sources, including Interior Designers and furniture stores. During this eco-​conscious time, consignment is the best way to «recycle» while still getting the best deal for the highest quality pieces. Resale– There is no better way to go green.

After graduating from DePaul University College of Law, Kellie Scott spent most of her career as an insurance defense litigation attorney, but her passion was always for design. Before opening Divine Consign, she designed many projects, two of which were showcased on HGTV. Her last project, a $ 2M dollar rehab of the William Stennet Home in Oak Park. won a Historic Preservation Award. Scott believes that there has been a fundamental shift in the way people look at shopping and furnishing/​decorating their homes. Based upon the theory that great design shouldn’t be restricted to the wealthy — Divine Consign was born. The secret — working with the economy rather than against it. The public has really embraced the concept. The turnover is incredible. «Sometimes, I don’t even recognize the place. I leave for an hour and — bam — tons of new stuff. Everyday is like Christmas. Often the guys will bringing a piece through the door and someone will buy it before it hits the floor.»

People who say this place is too expensive are whack. If getting merchandise mart leather bar stools from their show room (translation: never used) for $ 150/​stool is «expensive», try going to the merchandise mart! Mark downs from original pricing are insane and they don’t accept anything in bad condition. People, you get what you pay for!

I let several friends know about this place and I regret it only from the standpoint that
they do not answer the phone and do not return messages. If it were just one friend
complaining, …but it is 4 friends who live a considerable distance from Oak Park.
They are probably doing quite well… and do not care about phone inquiries for whatever
reason. They are high priced because the 50⁄50 ratio is very unfair. Am looking for a
more professionally managed place.

I bought a vintage mid-​century bar cart here and it’s the piece everyone «woos» over. The store have a lot of stock stuffed into the store, and it’s anywhere from low quality plasterboard to nice quality, vintage pieces. Most prices seem reasonable. The stock seems to turn over quickly so I go back periodically. Divine Consign is one of the best furniture consignment stores I’ve found in Chicagoland.

This place is so freaking expensive. Definitely should not come up in a thrift search because there is nothing thrifty about this place. On the plus side they have some very nice merchandise. And they staff was very nice!

This place is wonderful. We go in all the time for all the fun and unique finds. Staff is very friendly and helpful; other customers can be cut-​throat! Word to the wise: you can put things on hold there if you call the day-​of. If you like something a lot, don’t risk it, just pay the full price for it rather than be disappointed when it disappears.

Have bought three pieces in two weeks! Staff is very helpful and even hooked me up with same day delivery so I could surprise my boyfriend with our new pieces. Delivery men were very nice also. Highly recommend checking this place out before buying new.

I love me a good consignment shop! The prices are definitely higher than a thrift shop, but you’re also seeing more curated, high-​quality items. If you’re willing to hunt through the store, you can find some nice knick-​knacks and décor in the $ 10 – 50 range. Most of the furniture costs more, but it’s still a good value if you consider that you’re paying IKEA prices for real, higher-​quality pieces.

It is a nice store with lots of pretty (high priced) stuff. As a shopper it is a cool place, but as a consigner, not so good FOR ARTWORK. I recently took a huge like new print thinking Their stuff is marked high, I will be glad to split the sale with them. After I dropped it off, they sent an email saying the asking price would be 50.00. That blew me away, it was an expensive print. But ok, I guess I will take that, I signed the contract. It got close to the end of the time they allot before you can pick it up again, so I went in to get it and it sold the day before (ugh!). They sold it for 32.00, my cut is 16.00. Holy Crap! It must have been a secret sale. I will never take anything there again. I’ll sell it my self on Craigs list. The lady says, «Well artwork does not sell very well here. It’s just not a good place for artwork.» I guess she’s right! Lesson learned.

Really enjoy this place, their selection is excellent and turns over quickly, the staff is friendly and you can’t beat the prices.
I bought several pieces here — couch, chairs, desk, lamps, faux plants, outdoor furniture and accessories. High quality pieces at a fraction of the original price.

This new location is amazing. I am not usually into consignment stores but there is not a time I walk into this location or even the older location that was north of madison on oak park avenue where I didn’t find a great piece. We have bought framed art, decorative pieces, porcelain pieces, and more. They are constantly updating their inventory with items. The owner is usually always there who apparently is/​was lawyer. I recommend this place when you are looking for unique décor for whatever or even gifts. You can’t go wrong.

Found a great dining set here –6 chairs and a mahog table with a leaf for $ 800. A steal! The top of the table had some blemishes, Elisa gave me a name of a guy, Jose, who refinishes a lot of stuff for them and their customers. He was very reasonable and did an amazing job. We can’t stop looking at it! And best of all, he did it under a weeks time. Best guy ever.

Perhaps I visited on an off day, but when the Salvation Army down the road is better merchandised than a consignment shop, it has me a little worried. Furniture was packed in so tightly that you couldn’t see more than half of the inventory. I know that if I were to try to sell something here, I’d be more than disappointed if I found my piece 20 feet from a walkable aisle. Maybe next time, guys?

Items seem to be overpriced by about 75%. If you can do a search on Craigslist or on Ebay (for local pickup) you can compare for yourself. Sales staff seem very friendly when selling, but seem like they could CARE LESS when it’s time to deliver your item. Delivery was slow and undependable, and when I called to find out where my items were, the staff came off as snippy, inconsistent with their facts, and tried to somehow put the responsibility on me to contact their own delivery person.
If you have the means to move items yourself, save yourself a lot of trouble and head over to the Brown Elephant or local flea market. You’ll get a better deal, and you won’t have to deal with erratic delivery people and poor customer service.

The people that work at this store are just rude. I have dealt with them once to try and get help with custom drapery. Not only was the woman at the desk not nice, but the actual designer was not helpful. I had to chase her down to get a quote, which turned out to be ridiculous.
And the some of their signs can be just obnoxious.

A few weeks ago I would have given a 4 – 5 star review of working with Divine Consign, but not as of today and the delayed responses I’ve gotten in my past 2 interactions with them.
If you are local when dealing with them this may be an entirely different story, but as I“m no longer local and my interactions have been via email (always followed up by me calling them as I get zero response from my emails… until today).
I placed furniture with them, which wonderfully sold almost immediately! +1. I was given two separate checks to cover the amount due to me. another +1. However, neither check was correctly filled out with an authorizing signature, which my bank sent back to me noting the error. –1. Now, yet again I had to call to get a response, the person I spoke with was empathetic to the error. +1. I did get an email response stating that they were sorry for the mistake on their part and that they’d send me new checks just as soon as I return the checks that I have. –0.
My problem with all this… it’s their responsibility to make this right for me as well as any other consigner’s this has happened to (I can’t imagine I’m the only lucky soul this has happened to, not once, but two separate times). BUT, they haven’t said a word about sending me a check as soon as possible, etc, only that I have to first return their checks to them. –10!
Very frustrating store response, when I don’t live around the corner to drop the checks off for them to correct, but instead need to wait another couple weeks in order for their old checks to get to them for them to resend to me!
This may be a great place to shop, but as a consigner there’s definitely too much run-​around.

It’s getting to be ridiculous how much furniture we have bought here :) It’s a consignment store so everything is used, sometimes gently, sometimes barely, sometimes a lot. All of their items are in impeccable shape though, and since it is all consignment, and given the area, you’ll find a lot of unique, gorgeous, vintage items. They have also often have pieces you could categorize as funky, retro, mid-​century post modern blah blah blah — just go see the variety for yourself. Honestly, any time we need something for the house, we end up there because who wants crappy pre-​fab, over-​priced furniture that anyone with an internet connection could get. And since we bought a 100 year old prarie style home, most modern stuff wouldn’t look right anyway. This was the best find we have made in Oak Park so far!
The best part is their «Secret Sales». Ocasionally we’ll walk in and they’ll have items that have been around for a while DRASTICALLY reduced. We got super lucky with a few pieces, like a 1920 buffet for $ 149 that had been $ 600. We also snagged a 1940s vintage vanity that had seen better days for just $ 39. With some help from a friend and $ 30, it was sanded, refinished and fitted with new hinges, and it’s GORGEOUS.
They often have newer items too, like Mig n Tig warehouse pieces, Pottery Barn items from the current catalog, you name it! Even if you’re not in the market for anything, stop by and browse. They also have art, lamps, cutlery, mirrors, vases, serving bowls, and now they do custom fabric work in case you don’t like the gold velvet flowery fabric on a must have chair :)
Lastly, the employees are just great! Very friendly, knowledgeable about the pieces and willing to work with you on layaway, ocasionally negotiating on pricing, and keeping an eye out for things you are looking for so they can give you a heads up when something comes in. The owners is pretty much always there and is happy to help you find just what you need too. They have guys on-​site most days to help you load the car and deliver is just $ 50, no matter how many pieces. Definitely worth it if you get older wood pieces that are often super heavy and large.

Absolutely love this store, but I find I don’t go frequently ever since the owners now have a split focus on furniture and clothing (at Trends).
Yet, the prices are really reasonable and everything seems to be in good, used-​condition (although there are some new items too). Before I buy anything new, I will always check out what Divine Consign has first. Great way to pick up pieces at a fraction of the original price or to get something really unique.

I only had a few moments to spend at Divine Consign before time ran out on my parking meter, but I will definitely be back soon with hubby in tow. If your tastes run to the classic, there are antique-​y antiques with an impressive pedigree. If you are a modern sort, there’s stuff for you too. And there are lots of paintings, accessories, and objets d’art to round out the look. The prices are pretty reasonable (if you need cheap, head over to Brown Elephant) and the store is full without seeming too cluttered.
Everything at the store is consigned (duh!) from individuals or furniture stores, and the prices are reduced the longer it sits on the sales floor. You can add your name to a «wish list» so if you have something particular in mind, the store will notify you if it appears.
I don’t know if they coined the phrase «eco-​chic,» but there is definitely something «green» about the concept of re-​using what is here rather than having China make us new stuff all the time. So if you have the heebies about buying a couch someone else sat on, just get over it.
And bring plenty of quarters for the parking meter.
