AAMCO Transmissions & Total Car Care

So, Less called me and my husband after I posted the review. Says, «What can I do to get you to remove the negative post?» We said, you tell me?
He said I’m sorry, blamed it on his tech. Well, I will send you a check in the amount of $ 100.00. We said OK. When we receive the check, we will remove the post.
Here we are a month later. NO CHECK. Obviously Less doesn’t care about the bad review or the bad service he provided.

This place is a RIP OFF. They inflate their estimates. I took my car in for a transmission issue. I was hit with a $ 3,000.00 estimate. I asked them to fax over an estimate which the manager did not want to do. I showed their estimate to another shop and to my surprise the repair was ¹⁄₃ of what AAMCO tried to charge me! I wish it were possible to give zero stars because this place will scam you!!! Beware!!!

Had my trans rebuilt and the car was back in their shop twice within 1−½ years. Bad news. I’d prefer to give this zero stars, but it’s not an option. Also spent over $ 600.00 on rentals and a tow, which is out of my pocket!

By far the worst customer service ever. Rude, disrespectful. I went in to check my 2004 BMW 530I, because the check engine light came on the older gentlemen in the front desk had the worst attitude, after I left I called back to ask him to please call my warranty to see if it cover the repairs because I was going to take it back to Aamco to service it. He said «YOU DO IT! YOU CALL, I AM NOT CALLING! he was demanding and yelling..

**This was my first time to this location, so I can’t attest to any changes/​improvements with the new management.**
Had a Groupon for $ 14 oil change with a 36 point inspection included, so even with the poor reviews here, I gave them the benefit of the doubt and I figured maybe with the new management, the service had improved to at least decent standard.
Called in for an appointment, but was given the impression they weren’t terribly busy on a Monday around noon and told to drop in. The groupon said it should take about 30 minutes; when I got there, they told me 45 min. Fine, I came prepared with a book and hung around their waiting room. After an hour, I found they were still waiting for the oil filter to be dropped off? Apparently they don’t stock the oil filter for my car (which is particularly surprising since isn’t the corolla a top selling car in america?). Sick of the mix of cigarette smoke and drywall in the air, and tired of being cold (the heater in their waiting area was broken), I walked down the street to the dunkin donuts for a warm drink and free wifi.
Got called about 15 minutes later saying my car was ready. After signing the receipt, I had to ask about the 36-​point inspection to which they responded that everything was fine. Still I’m slightly suspicious they didn’t actually conduct this because usually garages will give you a checklist of what they checked with a red/​yellow/​green rating as to things that may need to be looked into soon. This garage had this sheet because I saw it on their desk, but I wasn’t given a filled out report. Suspicious? Very.
Went out to my car that was parked near the street, and the doors were all unlocked. Not cool.
So overall, not particularly impressed with this experience. I’ve definitely had better. Given the discounted price, it’s difficult to compete, but for the regular price of $ 35+, I likely won’t be coming back.

Well this is my first official Unilocal review & I’m sorry to say its a BAD one.
I went to AAMCO to get a ‘free’ (advertized) diagnostic as my engine wasn’t running smoothly.
24 hours later I had a bill for $ 150.00 and I was informed that I needed the ‘pro’ tune-​up, an EGH valve and probably a new transmission, Around $ 2650 in repairs.
I took my car to Milex over on Belmont and Joe did a free (really) diagnosis, and then did a tune-​up, replaced the valve, and my rear brakes for $ 660 incl. tax.
My transmission was of course fine.
Don’t trust these guys, they are new owners more interested in making a quick buck that building customer relations.
