History
Established in 1994.
In 1994, this was one of the first Concept Salons in the Chicago area — certainly the only one south of the city! The Aveda approach: «To care for the world we live in, from the products we make to the ways we get back to society.» was exactly what Joan wanted her business to be. Business Owner
Joan Each Rowan is returning to her roots. After decades away, the stylist is coming back to Beverly, where her career kicked off in 1976 at the Beverly Beauty School. Post-graduation, Joan took her talents to the Magnificent Mile, where she earned a position at the new Vidal Sassoon salon in Water Tower Place. It was a pivotal moment in the industry — Sassoon had revolutionized hairdressing, moving it out from under the hairdryer and putting the focus on the haircut. Joan worked here for several years, learning from the best in the world and honing her skills in cutting and coloring. But after a while, she felt a pull to bring her newfound knowledge back home to the South Side.
She set up shop in a salon in Evergreen Park for a few years, and then decided that with her devoted clientele and stellar reputation — combined with the fact that she had two toddlers running around at home — it was the ideal time to strike out on her own.
