History
Established in 1991.
Established in 1991 We opened The Custard Stand in 1991 as a take-out dairy bar in Webster Springs, WV, and incorporated a nearly century-old family recipe for the hot dog chili. Customers kept asking where they could buy Custard Stand Hot Dog Chili (CSHDC). They asked so many times that in 2003, we converted the three-bay car wash behind the Webster Springs restaurant into a state of the art, USDA-approved production facility and opened our second business, Custard Stand Food Products.
These days, you will find CSHDC at independent grocery stores, Wal-Mart, Sam’s Club, Kroger, ball parks and athletic fields, restaurants and convenience stores in more than 13 states. Our second restaurant, The Custard Stand-Flatwoods, opened in early 2009 in Flatwoods, WV (I-79, Exit 67). In 2010, we introduced Custard Stand Chili Soup with Beef and Beans, a more traditional bowl chili.
