After seeing multiple people with my insane hair I finally found a salon and stylist that I feel comfortable with. She did an amazing job and got it just as I wanted. I’m definitely coming back and I definitely recommend. Everyone there is absolutely welcoming and so kind. I love the atmosphere.

I had a really great experience here, Denise cut and colored my hair (balayage style) and I love how it turned out! I showed her a picture and she made it happen! Cool place, comfy chairs, good music, and fair prices. I’ll totally be coming back, and recommend to anyone overwhelmed by all of Oak Harbor’s salon options to give Allure a try.

I went in to see Amanda for a mani-​pedi today, and it was wonderful. The salon is well decorated, comfortable, and relaxing. Amanda took the time to make sure that she knew exactly what I wanted, how I wanted my nails shaped, and discussed health and beauty with me knowledgeably. She is very good at hand and foot massage, which makes the experience so much nicer. I hadn’t been to this spa before, so she also showed me around, so I would be familiar with all the services they offer. I couldn’t have asked for a more relaxing and welcoming experience. I will be back.

I am so impressed with this salon! I have been several times for appointments with Alyssa for either a cut, style, or color and I have walked away each time so happy. She does such a great job at understanding exactly what I have in mind and is personable and accommodating. The salon itself is very clean, reasonably priced, and maintains a comfortable atmosphere. Everyone has always been so friendly! I am thrilled to have found a salon I like and someone I can trust with my hair each time.

I was so excited to get my hair colored professionally for the first time so I did quite a bit of research and finally settled on giving Allure a shot. I have dark brown hair (with some grey mixed in) and when I made my appointment I let them know that I wanted a chocolate brown balayage with subtle hints of lighter brown. I was also very specific about not wanting any red/​or blonde. When I got to the salon I also showed the lady several pictures of what I wanted.
The result was horrible. My hair was brown/​red at the top and orange/​blonde at the bottom. I quickly called back the next day and asked to talk to one of the two managers/​master colorists to see if they were willing to fix it. I was hoping one of the two managers would be willing to fix my hair since the other girl messed up so much but they scheduled me with her again anyways. They got me an appointment right away. I will say that the staff is very very friendly and accommodating.
When I went in to get my hair fixed the lady took some toner and let it sit in my hair for a few minutes, then washed it out and styled my hair. When you get your hair colored you get a free cut with it and she did wonderful with that. She made sure to ask if I was happy with it, and from what I could tell it looked a lot better. I said thank you and went on my way.
Fast forward to a few days later and whatever toner she put in my hair was completely washed out and I was right back to having brown/​red/​orange/​blonde hair. So unhappy. I spent what I feel like it a very large amount of money to make sure I got a quality outcome, and it turned out to be absolutely horrible… to the point where it’s embarrassing. Shouldn’t you be proud to show off your awesome new look after spending $ 120 plus a very generous tip!!!

If all your looking for is a hair cut this place will do the trick, but if your wanting color I would NOT recommend it.

I can’t cay enough great things about this salon and the staff. Since moving here from sunny San Diego I was worried that I wouldn’t be able to find a stylist that could keep my blonde nice and cool/​icy; I hate copper or warm tones and it takes a seasoned stylist to color blondes (correctly) in general and my color in particular…
Leah (who is no longer there, moved to Hawaii), was wonderful, warm and welcoming. Her skills were on point with any stylist in any expensive/​overpriced salon in a metropolitan city. This proved to me that the owners really cared about who they hire and make sure the client has a proven, expert level team. Since Leah’s departure I was once again worried about finding a new stylist to fill her shoes; which were very big shoes to fill might I add. Wendy, one of the owners, took me on as a new client and just like my first experience with Leah, she exceeded my very high expectations. Not only is my hair healthy and the color perfection, these are two of the sweetest ladies you will have the pleasure of spending 2 hours in a chair with. How did I get so lucky to have not only one but two great ladies to make me look my best in this small unassuming town?! Also, this salon is very well decorated and roomy, and the products they choose are high end. Also, for you blondes, you must take Wendy’s suggestion and purchase a purple shampoo from her; it is inexpensive, smells fabulous and will keep your blonde looking salon fresh in between appointments!
Also, looking for a massage; Debra is FABULOUS, book with her, she does not disappoint. The room is comfortable, quiet and has a fireplace to keep you warm and cozy. The massage itself speaks volumes of this establishment in general; top of the line. Oak Harbor is lucky to have such a great full service salon.
Side note. Wendy is very popular and books weeks in advance so if you want the best in town you better get in her book now.
The prices are on point too.

My facial was a first for me. Arika is great and my skin feels and looks so good! Even my daughter commented on how bright it looks now! She was so thorough and it was so relaxing. Then I had my hair cut and styled by Christina! She did an amazing job and really listened to what I wanted. She even showed me how she was styling it so I could keep it looking great. I cannot recommend this spa enough. I’ll definitely be coming back!

Pretty disappointed in the services I got at Allure considering this was one of the only places that looked promising upon moving to the area. I’ve been getting highlights since I was a teenager, so I know what I’m asking for when I go into a salon. Upon describing what I wanted, I had multiple stylists at once telling me what I needed «instead» of my highlights, and what would «fix» my hair (even though I LIKED the way my hair looked, I just needed my roots re-​highlighted) and proceeded to tell me that it would cost MORE than the highlights did for what they were describing I needed. It was extremely unprofessional to go into a salon and tell them what I want (and what I’ve been getting for 10+ years) and have them completely disregard it and try to talk me into something else. When my hair was done it looked the exact same. I had asked for brighter highlights for the summer with my root touch up and instead my hair had the same «old highlight» brassy color, although my roots were covered. I told my stylist and the owner that I wasn’t happy paying the price I was for my hair to look the EXACT same and all they did was convince me of how «much better» it looks and how great it is. It wasn’t bad, it just wasn’t what I wanted, which is the problem with paying as much as I was for it. The owner offered for me to come back in and get some more highlights on top and to make them brighter, which at the time, I was happy about. I came back and had my highlights done again and I no longer have highlights at all, I have one-​color yellow-​blonde hair that looks like I did it from home, no subtle streaks like I had before or anything. I don’t even want to go back for a 3^rd time to try to get this corrected, I would rather spend the money elsewhere and have it actually look the way I want.

I’m new to Unilocal,just learning how. I first went to Allure in January 2015. My daughter’s friend had been there and my daughter thought I’d like the salon. I walked in and was immediately offered a drink and some fabulous chocolates. My appointment that day was with Jessica. I knew I wanted a totally new style and color, but I didn’t know what I wanted. She walked be through all the options, really took the time to find out my likes and dislikes. Then she took me back for a shampoo.. Holy heaven! Scalp massage almost put me to sleep. She gave me the greatest cut ever and such gorgeous color! I went from frumpy to fabulous!

I went for a massage and it was very good! The massage therapist was friendly, engaging, relaxing, and really took her time attending to me. Will go back!

Amanda does the most amazing nail art! She is friendly and very, very professional. I sent a request in early to see if it was possible to have Starry Night with and exploding TARDIS done. She spent time practicing before my appointment. The end results was fantastic!

Amanda saved me from a horrible set of «strip mall «nails. She spent FIVE hours working on them without a single complaint.
I now have nails that look amazing! I will never go anywhere else ever!
She shared information about nails, products and techniques. something no one has ever done before. I wish I had known, now I do I am her newest loyal customer.
I highly recommend having Amanda do your nails!

Excellent place! Went there to get a major change of hair style and loved the results! The lady that helped me was Denise and she did an amazing job! The price was fair. And the salon is so cute and cozy. Had an awesome experience! Definitely going back!

Went to Allure today to fix a choppy/​bad haircut I got at another salon here in town… and they made me look like a million bucks when I walked out! I had Denise cut my hair into a cute asymmetrical bob that was super stylish and just what I wanted. Totally going back in the future! :)

Update on my previous review:
After my last visit I received a voicemail from Jessica, the owner of Allure. She was very apologetic and concerned about my less than stellar experience and offered a complete redo of my package in attempt to change my mind. The repeat definitely changed my mind.
Facial: I had the pleasure of having Wendi as my aesthetician this time around. Right from the get go it was a complete 180 from my previous experience. She greeted me warmly and walked me back to the room. She had me put on a different top in order to give a proper facial. She had music going and didn’t disrupt the ambiance filling the awkward silence with chatter like before. She did a fabulous job, I can’t say enough good things about it. She killed it with the scalp massaging as well. I was able relax and bliss out for the hour long service AND my skin feels/​looks great. Side note: every single time I get a facial I always have mask left under my nose where they miss washing it off because they can’t see it from above your head, it happens with everyone. This is the first time in many many many facials I have not been left with this. Extra points.
Massage: I was booked with Deborah (again) who recognized me and remembered some key points regarding my preferences during my last visit, which was impressive. I don’t know if she upped her game, or if I was just so relaxed from my facial this time but the massage was so good. She once again listened and delivered exceptional service.
I left in a daze of relaxation which is what I am always looking for when I book a 2 hour service of a massage and facial combo. I grabbed both of their cards on my way out as I will be making future appointments with both of them. I am so happy that Jessica took the time to reach out to me, I am highly impressed with her customer service and the pride she takes in her business enough to offer the redo. I will be back.

I’ve been to Allure Spa twice now. The first time my experience was enough to make me try it again but after the second time I will not be returning! My first visit I had scheduled a keratin treatment with Jessica and I was not even seated in her chair for 35 minutes past my appointment time. I was not offered a robe to wear, she did however put a cape on me to protect my clothes. The treatment turned out really well, but I had to prompt her for information about washing and home care.
I decided to try the salon again for a haircut, hoping for a better experience. When I sat down Jessica put a cape on me, again did not offer a robe. Asked me if I wanted my hair washed. I told her I had washed it at home, but knew that should come standard with a haircut. She asked what I wanted and I told her a trim and shape up my layers. She did VERY minimal cutting and shaping and was done with the full haircut in less than 10 minutes. I could hardly notice any difference when she was done and needless to say I was unhappy. She then charged me full price for a 5 minute appointment! Knowing Jessica is one of the owners I did not feel comfortable talking with her about the services I received, but will not return.
In my opinion, the spa is very over priced for the services offered and customer service.

My experience was nothing short of excellent! Here is my story: I have been dying my hair JET BLACK since I was an 11 year old (what was my Mom thinking?) and yes it was Ion’s Jet Black. Maybe one step above black box dye but still considered box dye. After 14 years of having the same old straight jet black hair I decided to give myself a little makeover. I wanted to change my hair, however I was so discouraged because everywhere I went the stylists would tell me there was no way I could do anything «cool» with my hair, it would take years to get the hairstyle I wanted. I felt trapped, and upset with myself. After being shot down so many times and feeling discouraged about my black hair I met Brittanee Lee in the sauna at the gym and I asked her what she thought I should do with my hair. My gosh she was full of so many ideas and was so excited to do my hair! A week later I came in and she went straight to work. We were almost done when she realized my hair was a bit copper. I was extremely happy, but she was not. She knew my hair would fade and I would not like it after a few washes. So she toned it, and toned it, and worked so hard on my hair. She knew if she dyed it anymore, my hair would be so damaged, she kept it nice and healthy. She did what was best for my hair and did not harm it at all. She was honest the entire time, she didn’t build me up with fake promises like some stylist do, she seemed very sure of her work which made me feel confident. I can tell this girl has awesome work ethic and integrity. She finally finished around 4 hours later and my hair was amazing. I felt/​feel like my hair is so beautiful! She gave me a nice ombré of brown, light brown, and a hint of a beautiful maroon. It all blends so nicely and not uneven. I am going lighter and lighter soon. I could tell her thank you a million times over and over again for giving me confidence again and bringing life to my hair. It may sound cheesy but it changed my life. And has restored happiness and improved my self esteem. Thank you again Brittanee and Allure Salon.

Update from my last review awhile back. I have been twice, didn’t like the results both times for shellac nails BUT the manager called me after reading my bad review & she gave me my money back ($ 50). That totally counts for some good customer service! Thanks!

I’ve seen Wendi twice now since I’ve reviewed last & she’s still been amazing both times.
The second time I came in, I wanted a pixie cut & Wendi told me to go for a long bob before the pixie to see if I really wanted to go shorter. The bob was beautiful & super easy to take care of. I’m glad she had me do that first.
Yesterday I was ready to go shorter so I asked her to do the pixie & showed her a picture of what I wanted. She had a coworker come over & make sure my hair would be alright for it. I’m 100% ok with her getting a second opinion because I’ve known of hair stylists just going for it & the results were a disaster. The point I’m making is that if Wendi didn’t think it was a good idea, she wouldn’t have done it. I love that she has integrity & was honest with me about my hair.
My pixie turned out amazing, is ridiculously easy to style & it looks chic & youthful. I’m so happy with it! I was VERY nervous about getting it cut so short, but if I didn’t think Wendi couldn’t have handled it, I would have never asked her. If you’re wanting to do something drastic with your hair, she’s the girl to go to!

Wendi rescued me from 4 INCHES of roots, including scary grays. No lines of demarcation AT ALL. Added lighter highlights for dimension. It FEELS amazing even! And the cut moves BEAUTIFULLY. I have found my stylist. And Jess, the other stylist there, had a blonde client I saw come and go — ALSO amazing. These ladies love their work and it shows. Very friendly, the newly remodeled décor is classic Hollywood w/​a very fresh & clean feel. This is a great salon. Pic is my ACTUAL color — in the sun it’s striking. Thanks, Wendi!!!
