History

Established in 1946.

In 1946, L.M. «Lefty» and Mildred «Millie» Wolfersberger, along with Othmar J. Meyer, purchased the Schwarz Brothers Funeral Chapel & relocated the business to its current location at Lincoln and Washington Streets in 1948.

First constructed in 1877 as the residence of Mrs. Elizabeth Penn Scott, the property passed through the Porter, Schaefer, and Allen families before settling into use as Wolfersberger-​Meyer Funeral Home in 1949.

The building was designated an historical landmark in 1973 by St. Clair County and in 2005 by the City of O’Fallon.

Jim and Kim Sabella & family own and operate the funeral home establishment, while also calling it home.

Family owned and operated by Kim and Jim Sabella. Kim has over 25 years experience as a kind and caring professional. Jim is a retired US AF officer, adding his integrity and leadership to Kim’s expertise.
