Spa Winghaven

There is a reason you see an average of 1 star for this spa. Their management is awful. I’ve been coming here for the past few years and it just keeps getting worse. After being told today they charged me incorrectly for a package a month ago (½ through my treatment) I was told I now owe $ 120 more. I am a patient person, but I’ve had it and am taking my business elsewhere. If you do choose to visit this spa, there’s a high chance if you buy a package, you’ll have a new esthetician half way through it. The only reason the service is great, is because they have well trained employees working for them. However, their workers are smart and leave shortly after joining. Good luck to you Spa Winghaven. I sure hope you eventually get it together for the sake of your company. You may have changed your interior décor, but it’s your management and business practices that need an overhaul.

Had a gift card that was just over a year old and they absolutely, positively, would not honor it or the funds that were paid towards the card. BAD business practices! ONCE THEY GET THEIR MONEY THEY DON’T CARE ABOUT ANYTHING ELSE! BUYERS BEWARE! This is illegal as Obama passed the Credit Card Act in 2010. The new law places restrictions on expiration dates, another common feature of state gift card laws. It will prohibit the sale of gift certificates or cards that have an expiration date which is less than five years after the date it was issued, or the date that funds were last loaded on a store gift card or general-​use prepaid card. A certificate or card carrying an expiration date must clearly and conspicuously disclose the expiration date.

There are so very few times I can recall feeling cheated, and for those times the thought of posting a negative review never crossed my mind. Today, however was not one of those days. Having been a prior client of the spa with a glowing experience, I had anticipated more or at least a similar experience. It was requested that I arrive early for this appointment which I gladly performed. Was shown to the changing room and changed. Was greeted by esthetician and brought to the room. Changed again. It was 1pm when my service started. The service provided was pleasant and professional and up to the end of service was ALMOST as described in the service menu, except the menu said the service is supposed to be 75 minutes and a hand and foot massage was included. When I was told the service was over, after talking about products for 5 minutes, I asked about the hand and foot massage and was told I was given extra shoulder massage time instead. I accepted that explanation until I saw the clock as I entered the lounge which was only 60 minutes after entering the room. I spent 5 minutes in the lounge having felt cheated, so I dressed and went to the front and asked for a manager. The attendant said she was a manager. I expressed my disappointment and was told that 75 minutes is a guideline. So it was perfectly acceptable to provide the service, not as described in the published menu, and cut the time short. The attendant asked if she could have a manager call me on Monday. I thought I was speaking to a manager??? This is not good business and I will not return.

Terrible terrible terrible company. Awful experience. The manager was a complete a– hole and the employees couldn’t care less about their job. Oh and by the way, if you buy a gift card it will expire. Which violates the law even if they say it doesn’t. I’m surprised they haven’t been sued for $ 10 which is the sum of their employees.

This facility sells gift cards and puts an expiration of 1 year. This is illegal because of the credit card act that prohibits an expiration on a gift CARD under five years. The manager would not return my phone calls and the receptionist was extremely rude. I would not recommend this place to anyone! I’m a dissatisfied customer.

Happy to spread the word when a business does not meet expectations and fails at customer service! I cancelled my appt 27 hours out and was TOLD on the phone I would get my $ 25 reservation fee back. Today I was called about my appt and told them I’d cancelled already. I was then told the cancellation policy was 48 hours… not what I was told yesterday… and that they would be keeping my $ 25. In checking their website, I saw two places where it noted the 24 hour cancellation policy, but not ONE where it listed the 48 hour policy. «Oh, that was for the special…» Then why did the lady I spoke with yesterday tell me I’d get it back? Funny that they were too stupid to realize that keeping that $ 25 just lost them so much more! Not only from me, but anyone I know too… talk about poor business sense! WOW!

This business has been reported to the BBB and MO Attorney General’s office, and is under investigation, for refusing to honor their own gift cards; even when customers can produce their original printed receipt.

I’m am totally disgusted at this place. I had a gift card just a little over s year and they refused to honor it. First of all it’s illegal to not honor a gift card up to 5 years. It was for a significant amount too. I had not had an opportunity to use it since recently I had moved from the area. They were not willing to even budge an inch. I was tempted to get a lawyer but after the way I was treated I would not give them my business. Extremely bad customer service. DONOT buy a gift certificate from spa Winghaven.

So this review is only after having one service done, but I will say I really was impressed! This was the most I have ever paid to see an esthetician, but it was also the best service that I have ever recieved.
Something that is pretty annoying is that you can only tip with cash, and not on your card… I had to leave to go to an ATM and then return to tip. I just find this annoying and inconvient. Anywhere else I get my nails done, hair done, massages, whatever it is… I can always tip on my card. The front desk should definitely tell new customers that on the phone before they arrive. I wasn’t too impressed by the front desk, they weren’t that kind or informative…
I will keep coming back, but it is because of the amazing job Monet did! She was so sweet, accomodating, and really knew what she was doing! The inside is also very nice, and they offer complementary wine, beer, snacks while waiting. It truly is a very relaxing enviorment. Will be back to see Monet!

We purchased several gift cards to spa Winghaven for my mom for Mother’s day, her birthday and Christmas. She planned to use them during a recent booking. However, now they are stating they are no longer valid after 1 year. There is a federal regulation stating that gift cards cannot expire. Why aren’t you honoring your own gift cards?

I like this place, friendly staff and great atmosphere. They have several areas where you can relax, sauna, showers, and even free drinks to help you relax. Go!

Very nice staff. Usually have no trouble getting an appointment with a stylist. Prices are not bad.

I had a prenatal massage yesterday and it was just what I needed! I had never been to Spa Winghaven before but it’s the closest place to my house so I thought I would give them a try. My message therapist was Tim. He was great; very professional and made me very comfortable. He spent a good amount of time on each side and applied just the right amount of pressure. I’m pretty easy going when it comes to massage, the only thing I expect is that they don’t try to make conversation and Tim was quiet except to ask if I was comfortable. I have not had any other service here but as far as prenatal massage goes, I would definitely recommend this place.

I called to get a quote on having hair and makeup done for the bride for a trial session and also the day of the wedding. When we checked out after the first session, the price was much more than I was quoted on the phone. I paid the bill but called afterwards to ask why. I was told I must have written down the wrong price. I had been keeping a detailed, typed list of all the expenditures and knew I was correct. That didn’t seem to matter to them. I cancelled the next makeup session because after the first session, it looked very overdone. The hairdresser was ok, but nothing to rave about. This spa is ridiculously overpriced for the talent there and would recommend anyone spending a lot, get them to send you an email confirming the price. Will not be back.

Be VERY weary about purchasing a gift certificate from this place!
I received one as a gift and due to the horrible St. Louis winter I had to cancel my appointment, could not reschedule and their HORRIBLE customer would not extend the expiration date. Why does it matter to them? They received their money.
Great HORRIBLE customer service! They got their money but was it worth the horrible word of mouth and reviews? If they handle situations like this with horrible service how do they handle other situations?

I had a great Swedish massage with Cara today, my sister had a foot massage with Tiffany which she enjoyed. This spa is huge compared to the other spas I’ve been to. They have Starbucks coffee, lemoned water, steam room, locker room and I can’t remember what else. This is my favorite place now to get massaged.

Imagine my delight when I found out that instead of golf, I could spend an afternoon at the spa during our national sales meeting. So… for the 2^nd year in a row, I booked a 90 minute, hot stone massage. 90 minutes. Hot stones. Oh mama.
2 years in a row the hot stone massage was amazing. The stones felt like hot butter melting into my skin… the first year I chose medium pressure, the 2^nd year I chose firm. Both were perfect. 90 minutes of bliss. Why don’t I do this more often?
The spa itself was under construction so wasn’t in tip-​top shape this year. I’ll be anxious to see how it looks next year when I return… for another 90 minute hot stone massage (of course). I’m already looking forward to it!

I had a horrible experience at this place. Before I went on a vacation I made an appointment for a color, wash and style. After starting, the stylist advised that the color didn’t come out right and that she didn’t have time to fix it, and not only that but she didn’t have time to blow dry or straighten it, which I still ended up paying for. I could not believe that I was leaving this place to go directly to Myrtle Beach on vacation with a wet tangled orange MESS! At the urging of the lady at the front desk, I made an appointment to have it fixed when I came back. I ended up getting it fixed while on vacation, but forgot to let Spa Winghaven know about it until the day of my appointment with them. They were very understanding on the phone, then a few days later I got my receipt in the mail. They charged me $ 120.00 for a missed appointment to fix my hair which they wrongly colored and never styled. I called immediately and the lady at the front desk said that they would NOT refund my money and that it was my fault. I asked to speak to a manager she said she was one. This was the worst hair and customer service experience I have EVER had. If those are the people managing the place I am glad not to go back.
$ 240.00 — to learn that this was not a good place. Customers beware!

I wanted a nice relaxing pedicure after a long week of finals. When I entered, I was amazed at how inviting the establishment was. I was greeted by a friendly receptionist and had a seat in a nice comfy chair!
My appointment was for noon, but I did not get in until ten after, but that was still ok. I was taking to a nice area and my nail tech was amazing. This was the first time that I ever had a pedicure done and really enjoyed it. I received a double bonus when she threw in a mani as well!
I do have to say that this was a great experience and I will keep going back!
