Lunch visit to one of my favorite local Mexican restaurants. Had the carne asada tacos and they were outstanding. Tacos come wrapped in flour tortillas and folded in aluminum foil. The carne asada portion size within the taco is not extremely large, but it is just right for me. I added in some pico, salsa and beans to the carne asada and it was excellent. Chips and salsa prior the meal were free. Customer service was outstanding.

I was here about 2 months after it was open & it was extremely bland. To the point water more flavor.

Awesome food and awesome service. Went here with family on a Sunday afternoon and they brought our food out really fast.

I ordered fajita nachos. They came out cold and I did not want meat and they came with chicken. Then when I said that my order was wrong they then brought out the same plate just heated up still with chicken. They did not listen to my order.

Food was decent but the prices were a bit high for the size of the portions. I also found it strange that my Mexican rice had peas and carrots in it like Asian rice would. Mi casa still wins out hands down.

Really great food… some of the best Mexican I’ve had in Illinois… BUT, the service was slow. We were there at 1:30 on a Saturday afternoon and came here because Mexican restaurants typically can serve you faster than other restaurants. We were there well over an hour for two burrito meals.

Nice place to grab dinner. Fantastic job in the décor here, they really put a lot of thought into it. I Sat at the bar and service was fine despite the fact the bartender was running tables outside the bar as well. Food was good and chips/salsa was up to par. I was here in business otherwise I would say I would return.

I wish I could give this place zero stars! We have eaten here several times and no issues, but tonight is the last time I will ever eat here. After being seated the hostess forgot to get my little boy a highchair, fine she was busy. After we ordered our food it took 45 minutes to get to us! We watched 4 – 5 tables be seated and get their food and were finished eating before we even got ours. I confronted the manager whom obviously didn’t know what he was doing not care about the fact that we waited that long. Needless to say, their service is horrible and I will never waste my time going here again.

Best Mexican we had since moving here. At first glance it is just in a strip mall, but once inside it is super cute! Nice and clean! Food was great! We will return!

This is, by far, the best Mexican food I’ve had since moving to Illinois. We ordered the enchilada special. The portion is very large and is enough to take what I can not eat home for dinner. The food arrived hot and lovely to look at. The chicken is fresh and shredded. Beans and rice are also included. The restaurant is beautifully decorated. I would highly recommend La Casa Mexicana.

We have dined here at least once a week since discovering this place about 9 months ago. This place has the best Mexican food in the area, we always received great service… even when the place is packed. Which is nice to know they have enough staff for extremely busy nights so you aren’t left waiting forever. Everything on the menu has been fantastic so far and the pricing is right. Love the outdoor seating.

I ordered the Lunch Combo #4(Tamale, Burrito, and Rice) today. It was a very large portion for a $ 7.50 lunch. I thought the tamale was very good and the burrito left a little bit to be desired. The rice was good too. The salsa had a nice amount of heat to it but not too much. My lunch companion enjoyed the Enchiladas Yolandas very much. In short I would definitely return if I was in the area at lunch time and I was craving Mexican food.

Very good Mexican food. Love the white cheese dip and salsa. The taco salad(chicken or beef) is also a favorite. Excellent food for the money with above average service. We frequently go here and it has never disappointed. Recommended

The place has a beautiful décor, but I simply can’t take the smell of the inside. They use some kind of cleaning agent that is strong that it feels like someone dowsed the entire store with left over mop water. It’s a very strong and piercing smell that will stick onto your clothes even when you leave. It’s seriously disgusting; and I will never dine in again. They need to improve the fragrance or use a different kind of cleaning agent. Their menu is extensive, and the La Mexicana burrito was a very sensible portion, not too much yet not too little. The lunch special is good. Salsa is fresh and they kindly refilled mine. Staff is generally nice.

This wasn’t the first time I’ve eaten here but it was definitely the last. A direct result in the declining quality of food and service we’ve experienced during our numerous visits. Tonight was a Friday night and in the past on a Friday at La Casa, you could easily expect to wait 30 – 40 minutes for a table. Tonight? No wait at all, which leads me to suspect that I’m not alone in my abject disappointment in how far their food and service standards have fallen. Our waitress appeared disinterested; she rarely returned to our table to see how we were fairing. At checkout, she turned up at the register and actually refused to check us out and called someone else over to complete the transaction. The food? I’ve ordered the same dish each time I’ve eaten there, more or less, because I truly enjoyed it… until tonight. Tonight, my Pollo Fundido supposedly«smothered in cheese» barely had enough cheese on it to claim it as an ingredient. When I mentioned this to our waitress, she dismissed my comment by telling me «all of the ingredients were pre-proportioned». I’d have bought this explanation if I’d never had the dish before but no deal, hon. I’d been doled out exactly three peppers– one slice each green, yellow and red. Similarly, there were only two or three onions to round out the dish. Throw in some cold refried beans and dried out rice as my sides and my meal was complete. Luckily, I had my banana margarita in which to drown my sorrows. In true La Casa fashion, I had ask for someone to please bring the additional pico de gallo I always ask for and without fail they never remember to bring out with meal. We even told the young lady at checkout about our experience after she asked us about our meal. Sadly, you could see the exact point where she tuned out… I suspect she’s heard similar complaints recently. I don’t give up easily. The service and food is either a hit or miss or is declining. We’ve gone in when it’s busy and have had the hostess ignore us for 15 minutes before we finally walked out. We weren’t the only ones to leave frustrated that night. Sorry La Casa, gonna be drinking my margaritas somewhere else from now on.

We ordered Topshelf Margs. and they were NOT topshelf! We know what we are paying for. I got fish tacos and they were breaded fish sticks you would buy from the frozen section of the store. They were cut up in tiny chunks. The order came with three and when I got them I had to combined two tacos just to have a normal size taco. Seriously, I thought they forgot an ingredient. We also ordered the fajita salad. When it came out there was just a tiny bit of lettuce. Again we thought they forgot an ingredient. On the positive side, the service was good. We mentioned something about the lettuce and he said he would of given lettuce to us if he would have known. Would not suggest this establishment.

Food was good but inadventurous. Any fish is overlooked. Shrimp very much so. Get it off the grill if already cooked. Any pulled chicken or pork is the best in the area. The food is amazingly. I love it & I’m a regular. The food is real. The have salsa verde.

Great décor and good food, but deplorable service. I don’t knock a place for one bad instance, but we’ve been here several times and I decided today would be our last. Service has been consistently slow and inaccurate.

For the money it was not a bad meal. I especially thought that the ambience of the restaurant was very well done considering it is in a strip mall. They really took the time to give it the feel of an authentic restaurant with a Mexican flair. As for the food I thought that it was good and that it was no better or worse than most Mexican places in the area. My major concern was the wait time. I arrived at 11:30 with one of my buddies from work and it took us over an hour to eat and pay and we ordered off the lunch menu. We were not in a hurry so it was not a big deal but it just seemed odd to me that it took almost 35 minutes for food to arrive after we ordered. I ordered the beef chimichanga and it was surprisingly good. The beef was marinated in some type of sauce that really gave it a distinct flavor. The chimichanga was crispy and the cheese sauce was also very good. I also thought their guacamole was good as well. Overall it was a good Mexican restaurant. It didn’t tip the scale to a 4 or a 5 star rating but it was a solid three-star maybe 3 ½ star Mexican joint in Illinois.
