I worked with Peter for almost a year selling my parents home in Tappan. He was very patient and welcoming all along the way. Peter took care of the closing of an estate for my daughter which included a co-​op sale and dealing with all sorts of issues that were insurmountable to our first attorney. I hired Peter after the first attorney ripped off the estate and accomplished nothing. What a refreshing change when we hired Peter Klose. He is quick, smart, savvy and well versed in the laws pertaining to his cases. He was always available, took time to respond, helped us navigate unchartered territory and in general got us through a rough time.
I think he under-​charges, he’s worth his weight in gold. and invaluable to his clients. So much so that I recommended him to another family member for a closing on property. I have a feeling Peter will be referred by a lot of his clients as he is top notch. You won’t do better than Peter Klose.

As one can imagine the process of buying your first home is a scary undertaking. My husband and I wanted to make sure we would select a great attorney to help us along the journey. After an extensive search and reading many reviews, we selected Peter and it turned out to be a great decision! From the first point of contact with Peter we knew it was going to be the right fit. During the mortgage process a few issues with our lender came up but Peter acted quickly in advising us and was reassuring. Peter was prompt with all of his responses whether it was via email or by phone. At times he’d even respond before I got the chance to log out of my email account! Towards the nearing of our closing, the day before to be exact, things got interesting again with our lender but Peter was consistently there for us when seeking his advise. I used Peter’s services for the sale of my co-​op in Westchester County. He was unbelievably efficient, prompt and seemed to be thinking three steps ahead the entire time — which was incredibly useful, given all the hoops you have to jump through when closing on a co-​op, not to mention dealing with a mortgage company that has a history of losing paperwork and torpedoing deals. Just to make things interesting, I also had a baby a few days after we went into contract, and then our closing was scheduled shortly after Thanksgiving weekend. Despite all these obstacles, Peter had no trouble coordinating all necessary details without breaking a sweat. (He also has a great sense of humor!) I was in need of a local Rockland County, NY attorney to respond to a pending lawsuit but knew of none. I turned to the internet, was impressed with the reviews I read of Mr. Klose and reached out to him. I am extremely please with my decision to hire him to represent me. Mr. Klose challenged me, was very professional, knew the playing field; and to my surprise was extremely efficient with my time and his. When I received my invoices there was absolutely no ounce of fluff. When I made some suggestions I was surprised at some of his responses along the lines of «I can take your money but we don’t have to do that»; Imagine that? More shocking came months later when he reached out to me suggesting that the case looks like it was going no further, which was a victory for me and therefore he should return the balance of my retainer. Again, imagine that? I received my bulk of my retainer. While I’m delighted and surprised that I did, I cannot emphasize enough, Mr. Klose’s professionalism and communication with detail. Next time I need a lawyer, without hesitation, Mr. Klose is my lawyer.

We worked with Peter to sell our house in upstate NY. Sounds pretty easy, until you factor in the fact that the house is jointly owned by family members in different parts of California. Peter was easy to work with and was able to handle almost everything over e-​mail. Fair warning: Peter has a somewhat laconic way of communicating (e-​mail answers of «Yes» or «No» or «Working on it» were common), but when we needed him to focus on the matter he was immediately responsive and quickly provided us with updates. He personally attended the closing and called us from the conference room to let us know what was going on.
We highly recommend Peter, especially if you need to get some legal work done in NY and you aren’t able to physically be there. One final note: We are both attorneys, and we were pleased with Peter’s work. I think it says something when you are «in the business» and you have a professional respect for the services provided.

In my opinion, Peter is everything a lawyer should be. Normally I would use my sister who’s a real estate attorney in New Jersey to handle my real estate transactions, but alas she’s not licensed in New York. Nonetheless, I chose to go with Peter over other local attorneys because of his expertise in rental law (I’m purchasing a two family), positive reviews online, and having read some of his informative and well written articles that appeared in The Nyack Villager.

Peter was the easiest person to communicate with and as a major bonus, he’s very funny! He made everything simple, straightforward and easy even when we were stressed out, especially after the house was damaged by Hurricane Irene. He responded to emails at lightning speed and always picked up his phone. His fee was very fair and it was exactly what he quoted in the beginning, which we truly appreciated because he did not charge more even though the closing was postponed a few times first due to bank issues and later due to the Hurricane. We were first time home buyers so we researched everything including interviewing 3 lawyers and he was by far the easiest to reach and the best at explaining the process. If our close friends or family decide to buy a house, we would highly recommend Peter, and if we ever sell and buy another house, he’ll be our lawyer again, no question.

Peter represented me on a few real estate related transactions. My first home purchase being one of them, he was detailed, responsive, and courteous. He did not take for granted, that I knew everything and had the patience and foresight to go through things with me thoroughly. We have been searching to buy a commercial property for over 3 years. I worked with Peter for the last 2 properties. The first one, my mind was stuck on the property to buy it. Peter had me to do many research. Reluctantly I did and found out that the property had a major structural repair in the past. I backed out. The property is still out in the market not sold for over few years.
The second property which we ended up buying was much better. Only mistake was that I decided to get a mortgage from a major bank which we had business account for over 10 years hopping that will ease the process. Well, not so… they drove me crazy with all the paper works and requirements. Peter really eased all that and he stood by us till the end of the process. He always answered phone calls and kept good communication. At the closing table, he took control of the floor and was leading all the way. And myself being a cheap guy… most of all… he did not charge me a cent more than he projected and his fee is very very reasonable.

Shortly before going to contract on our new home in Westchester, my Manhattan real estate attorney informed me that he would not do transactions outside the city. I’d known him and trusted his services for years, and so I was very uneasy about having to find a new attorney in a hurry without reccomendations– especially after hearing about bad attorney experiences from just about everyone I know.
After reading about Klose & Associates online, I decided to contact Peter Klose. From the start until closing, I never had any doubts that we were in good, competent hands. Peter and his staff were readily available to answer all of my specific questions and concerns, and our closing went sikly smooth. Also, as the other reviewer mentions, it’s really nice to work with people that can take advantage of the internet to speed things up.

Peter was my buyer’s attorney on a residential real estate transaction. Above everything else, I am impressed with Peter’s availability to respond to emails and take calls. I was able to reach him on a daily basis, using email and phone calls, even while he was on vacation in Greece. It was easier to communicate with him than it was to many people in NY involved in the transaction.
All of the paperwork prior to the closing was done via email and fax (I probably have 100s of pages of PDFs), and Peter’s office keeps a very tight ship in terms of documentation. His assistant Cindy is on top of things and she is easy to reach as well. They have an excellent grasp of maximizing productivity through technology. I can’t overestimate how valuable this was, especially in contrast to other players in the real estate transaction who worked at a snail’s pace.
If there was one criticism I had of him, was that his answers to my questions tended to be terse. «Don’t worry» was an often used phrase, which is tough to accept when a couple hundred grand is being thrown around. Being stubborn and persistent in my questioning is necessary when I wish it needed not have been. But Peter had detailed answers when we got down to it. He also alerted me to some things that I hadn’t been aware of, and his office saved us a lot of grief by saving time and being responsive.
I also appreciate Peter’s prioritizing and defense of core issues important to me. If I say «we don’t accept this from the seller», Peter will put on his game face in front of the seller’s lawyer, and things are made right. If the seller stonewalls, Peter says «don’t worry» and calls their bluff. It’s those times when «don’t worry» provides me with confidence.
All in, do your Internet research and keep asking questions, and Peter will be a valuable attorney to work with.
