Tres Jolie Salon and Spa

Tres Joile had a deal on Groupon for a Brazilian Blowout, and cut. So, I thought what the heck, it a great price let me try it out. My usual place only has this discounted price on Fridays and I didn’t want to wait until then. I also wanted my roots colored. I called Tres Jolie to see if they had anything available same day. The gentleman said sure, «what time would you like.» I said, «I can be there in 1 hour.» He said, «great see you then.»
As I walked up to the salon/​spa the décor had natural and warm tones. Which made me feel comfortable. I was asked which service was I interested in today. Then I was offered water or coffee
Hal was very nice and explained the process step by step. Even though I knew these steps already since it was my third or fourth time getting the treatment. It still is a great practice to keep in the service industry (always inform your clients or patients of what is going to happen). So there is never a misunderstanding. They made me feel like a VIP. I got a lot of extras I don’t get at my usual salon. Wash sinks are higher, chairs have leg lift, even before we started the treatment he set up a exhaust fan to pull the smell aways from me. How considered.
My hair came out beautiful, soft and best of all FRIZZ free! My color came out great, he only trimmed a little, which was fine with me.
Great service, great surrounding, nice people, I would recommend Tres Jolie to anyone and I will travel 30 minutes again.

I tried out this salon about 18 months ago with a groupon for a Brazilian blow out. Amanda did a nice job and explained every step of the way. I later sent my daughter over there to have it done too. I am not always comfortable at fancy salons as I am a jeans and a t-​shirt kind of girl, but Amanda gave me a call and I remembered how I liked her personality and she did a nice job on my hair, so I decided to go back and get a cut. She made me feel at ease and gave me a great cut and style. I will go back. Amanda is fun, sweet and a hard worker.

So glad Amanda is back here doing hair. She actually listens to what I’d like done with my hair and gives great service!

Too much drama at this salon. Hal is the owner and his wife calls up because she suspects her husband is cheating and says «he is not allowed to do any woman’s hair» and they are going to shut down the salon. He lacks professionalism and so does she. He will try to hit on you while you are in his chair. He does a good job of a blow dry but not the color or cut. Now, I am going to a new salon that acts in a professional manner.

Hal, the owner, took care of my haircare needs like no other hairstylist I’ve ever had. From the first phone call to the completion of my services, I have been truly impressed with his customer service and expertise. I have finally found my home salon and go-​to stylist. Thanks, Hal. You’re the best!!!

Do not be fooled by the fancy French name; go elsewhere! I came to Tres Jolie for a shellac manicure and a pedicure for my wedding. I don’t know the nail tech’s name because she never introduced herself. I rarely get my nails done and am certainly not the type to use a nail tech as a «therapist», but this woman wouldn’t engage in any friendly conversation with me. We all have our off days, so I grabbed a magazine and resumed typical self-​absorbed customer behavior. She hurt my nail beds throughout the process. The worst part, however, was that she put my nails under the UV light for 45 seconds for each shellac layer to dry. However, the layers weren’t drying, and she thought that I must have moved my hand. Despite noticing the wet layer, she tried to paint over them as if there was no problem. Of course when she was «done», half of my nails looked horrible and were only mildly admissible because of the neutral color. As I was getting married that weekend and shellac lasts several weeks, I asked her if she could redo the deformed nails. She complied but was noticeably frustrated (as I probably would have been, too). I had to wait 10 minutes for the shellac polish to come off in order to be repainted. Afterwards, the nail tech AGAIN put my nails in to dry for 45 seconds (instead of the standard 60 second button). When the nails didn’t dry she became even more irritated at me as though I had magical powers that were inhibiting the machine from drying my nails. She had to take the polish off again and redo them. After an extra 45 minutes of shellac, one nail was still noticeably blemished. At the point, it was good enough and I paid and left. There was never an apology, just an awkward 15 minutes of her texting and tapping her foot nervously while avoiding eye contact with me. I will never go back here. There are plenty of salons in Novi; take your business somewhere else where you will be treated professionally.

I recently came to Tres Jolie for a color and a hair cut. I haven’t been able to find someone who really gives a good hair cut for long curly hair. Until NOW… The hairdresser who colored/​cut my hair was Amanda. Very pretty girl, bubbly personality and amazing SKILLS! She gave me the best haircut I’ve ever received. Still was able to keep my length, meanwhile she gave my hair some depth by adding a few long layers. My color is absolutely beautiful! I wanted to go much darker than I was used to and she made it look AMAZING! This girl is extremely talented. I would highly recommend Amanda at Tres Jolie.

So bummed to have to change my review to 2 stars. I have loved going to see Charity for nearly the past year. But, when I called to book my appointment today, the gal who answered the phone was extremely rude. She told me Charity was no longer there. I asked where she went … but the girl would not tell me. Nor did she offer to book me with another stylist.
:(Now taking recommendations for someone who is good with color, I just need my roots done about every 6 weeks.

Kristina did a great job styling my mom’s hair! She was patient and friendly. It’s difficult because my mom does not speak English. But she tried her best to understand and my mom’s hair came out wonderful! However the hair products used in the salon was not very good, in a week, she developed heavy scalp.

My wife and I both have tried various local salons, chain hair places, and even recommendations from friends over the past years — we have found no where better than Tres Jolie. Hal Sultani is the owner, and we always have an excellent cut, everytime we go. We cannot speak of the spa part of the business, but we have not had a bad cut yet, and we have been going since the place opened!

Waited an hour past my scheduled manicure appointment time before I gave up. The gentleman manicurist was not only rude, but was completing the client’s friend’s nails (who did not have an appointment) during my appointment slot. I was Never offered an apology or an explanation for the wait. When I complained I was given 15% off, but won’t be going back to use it. Try tres jolie for anything BUT a manicure.

I really like this place. I’ve come here for mani and pedi. They only have two technicians. But they both do a great job and the owner is really nice and friendly. The facility is quite good, too. I’ve not had my hair done there yet. That is why I gave they 4 stars. But I highly recommend going there.
