Stuart’s of Novi

Love going, just wish they would get my order right. Or at least be able to tell what they actually mixed into my ice cream. Currently disappointed with questionable crumb vanilla soft serve.

I was brought to Stuart’s by parents, who said this place had amazing yogurt and ice cream. At first, I was a little skeptical, but oh how wrong I was! Stuart’s is a hidden gem in Novi. This location contains so many varieties of yogurt, mix-​ins, sugar free, flurries, shakes, cones, ect; no one in your family can leave saying they had nothing that I wanted. The staff is courteous, and fast.
My recommendation is the S’More Flurry, which was very tasty. I would defiantly order this again. Also, don’t forget your frequent stamp card, it will come in handy.

I was craving ice cream and saw the reviews for this place while I was in the area. The two stars goes for the many options and tasty ice cream. My boyfriend ordered a large boston cooler and I ordered a junior oowy gooey brownie flurry. The large boston cooler seemed pretty small, my junior was a good size. The total price was just over $ 10. I got my flurry and I didn’t see the chocolate sauce or any brownie so I went and asked about it. They girls seemed annoyed that I said there wasn’t chocolate sauce and I couldn’t find any brownie. They told me that its blended in the flurry. I just want to say, that when I see that brownie as an ingredient that is going to be in my ice cream, I do not think of tiny brownie crumbs. Very disappointing. I would have loved to appreciate that their brownies are homemade, but since I just had crumbs, I couldn’t taste it. Bummer. Also, the spoon i got cut my lip the edges were too sharp.

While searching for ‘ice cream near me’ on my phone, Stuart’s was the closest option. Never having been there, I decided to check it out. They’ve got a great small business vibe, with so many delicious options, it’s hard to choose! The serving sizes were pretty large, but hey, can’t complain about that! We definitely got our money’s worth. The service was quick and friendly. There are picnic tables on either side of the building to sit and enjoy your ice-​cream. Perfect for a warm summer’s afternoon. I will definitely be coming back to try out more of the delicious options.

They have both soft serve and hard scooped ice cream, and frozen yogurt, which is great. The hard scooped is really delicious. My only complaint is that the person making our desserts was clearly not paying attention. We ordered a banana split and a caramel sundae, and she made them for us — first, forgetting the bananas in the banana split, second, forgetting the caramel sauce for the sundae. When I retuned to get the caramel sauce, I learned they don’t actually have any, so I got a runny salted caramel topping. I wish they had told me they didn’t have caramel sundae sauce at first, as I would have just bought a scoop. More training on what products they have and attention to detail needed!

This was my first time eating at Stuart’s, though the rest of my family has been here before. I’m sure they’ve had good experiences and I can understand why this shop is a local favorite, but I was disappointed with the service and the product.
The shop seemed fairly slow, but I’m okay waiting if I know people are still working hard and not just slacking off. I ordered a junior Salty Dog flurry, which includes vanilla soft serve, salted caramel (which turned out to be more of a liquidy topping), brownies, and pecans. I ordered it specifically without pecans and asked to have hot fudge on it instead. Even the cashier confirmed this with me.
When I got the dessert, however, there was just a bit of the salted caramel topping on top and I didn’t realize until I got outside that there were indeed pecans in the ice cream and no hot fudge, like I had asked. Luckily I’m not allergic to them, but imagine if I had been!
I didn’t want to go back and complain really because there was a pretty long line and I didn’t want to disappoint more people.
Another thing I noticed – and I don’t know if this is a certain style of making ice cream, but some places tend to blend the mix-​ins TOO much till there’s no telling what is what in the concoction. This is one of those places. I was looking forward to nice chunks of brownies, and so was my brother, but we really only got crumbs of brownies blended into the ice cream, and it was a bit disappointing.
So now I’m sitting at home, only partially enjoying this ice cream, so I’m much less than satisfied.
I hope my next time going here will be better! This time wasn’t too great of an experience, though. I’ve looked through some of the other reviews and can see that some of my concerns are shared with others. Hopefully Stuart’s sees this and fixes their mistakes.

Love this little hometown ice cream parlor. Make great flurries! And the creative menu options will have you debating what to pick.

Loved this place. I had death by chocalate. It was huge. Being a huge chocolate fan, it was a treat on a bright sunny saturday afternoon. They have nice fresh handmade icecream options, all of them
worth a try

pros: Stuarts is a great locally owned place that has a lot of variety on their menu. I was extremely pleased to see they added vegan soft serve (soy based) on my last visit. My co workers love going for their gourmet hot dogs during lunch time. They have a text alert system for coupons and deals.
Cons: Bees galore! Every time I visit there is a huge bee problem, making it uncomfortable to sit and enjoy your snack. (Isn’t the the whole point?) I really wish they’d solve this problem, everyone I talk to also has this problem with Stuarts. Also, parking is an issue if it’s during any of the peak times. Decided to park across the street at the PNC bank after hours last time to realize that it’s a tow zone, so I wouldn’t recommend doing that. My husband also isn’t a fan of their regular soft serve blizzards, I think it’s a lack of the candy making it a blizzard– it’s generally made with minimal candy.

I absolutely LOVE this place! Not only do they have the best flurries in town, but now they have the best ice cream cakes as well! I got my boyfriend an ice cream cake for his Bday and everyone loved it! On top of that it took less than 48 hours, very reasonably priced and it was so well made! They are constantly updating their menu and store in the best ways possible. Even better, they are dog friendly and my dog loves going there too! Definitely my go to ice cream place, check it out!

I hate to say it, but their quality has taken a nosedive over the past year. While they’ve added a lot of flurry flavors that sound awesome, they always end up disappointing. Why? Because they include about a teaspoon of the ingredients advertised. Case in point: The brownie flurries used to have huge chunks of fresh, delicious brownies in them. Now they have a sprinkling of tiny black specks of brownies which add almost zero flavor at all. The end result is a flurry that’s really just a cup of soft serve vanilla ice cream. Lame. I’ve been disappointed by their promising-​sounding flurries too many times and will not be returning to Stuart’s.

Loved the choices and the ice cream was yummy! Will be back whenever we’re in the area

Hand packed ice cream in the speciality sprinkle cone was a big hit with our kids!
A brief spring shower erupted overhead as we were munching our cones but we were protected under one of the two available umbrella picnic tables.

I LOVE Cone Zone! I mean Twist and Shake! I mean Stuarts! Seriously this place is great. Whatever it’s been called it doesn’t disappoint and they have added so many choices to the menu since becoming stuarts. Very fair prices too for the amount and quality.

I have been going here since I was a little kid. Back then, it was Twist and Shake (the second name of the place).
I went back yesterday for the first time since it became Stuart’s. We were waiting in line, and it looked like it was one of the managers walking around behind us with his dogs. I jokingly said «I wonder if that’s Stuart» referring to the person. The guy comes up and asks if we wanted to meet Stuart, the owner of the ice cream shop. Then he points down at the dog. Turns out, the place is named after the family dog, who is also proudly displayed on the sign for the place.
Anyways, the place is super clean now, and has a ton of options for such a small place. The cookie monster flurry is delicious.
They also sell lunch, but I have never had it.
Also, the guy said that they’re looking into opening a bakery what will be named after their other dog, Flash.
If you want soft serve in Novi, skip DQ and go here. It’s locally owned, and much better.

This place is fun, this place is quaint, this place is somewhere you can walk to with your family. They always have fantastic treats for everyone at great prices. Always loved coming here, even when I was a kid. Never a let down. Better than those corporate hoohas! Go!

I absolutely LOVE this little ice cream shop. Staff is always friendly (except the girls who work there at night seem annoyed all the time) but the ice cream is so damn good I don’t even mind. I take all of my friends here and my boyfriend and I come here entirely too much. Definitely favorite place in Michigan ever. EVER.

This is your local Ice Cream shop… the new menu signs are awesome… we love this place… The owner is so friendly and we love to go here…

Service here is always friendly and I love the fact that I can get fat free no sugar added frozen yogurt.
