Dr. Don and his staff are the best. I had consultations with other orthodontists that told me that having braces would not make much of a difference. Dr. Don said he could do what I was hoping for and make improvements to my teeth with braces. My teeth look better than I could have imagined. He is a great orthodontist. He makes sure you are happy and your teeth are perfect. Dr. Don and his staff are always professional and friendly. I was a little sad when I had to get my braces off because they made it a great experience, always making sure I was well taken care of. Thank you Dr. Don.

We’ve had a great experience with Dr. Don from start to finish! Love his energy, professionalism, perfectionism and he has a great way with kids while keeping me involved and informed the whole way. He made special effort to squeeze us in so my son could get his braces off in time for the holidays! The office staff is outstanding as well. Everyone there seems to love what they do and they always have a smile on their faces… and nice teeth! I’d highly recommend him.

I was always interested in getting braces and wasn’t sure the extent of work needed.
Dr. Don Wilson was recommended to a me by a friend whom told me had a great experience at his office as well.
Talking with Dr. Wilson explained to me the options in detail and made the entire process extremely easy and they always are upbeat and friendly whenever I am in for my appointments.
I have to say, the entire team there had made the experience extremely easy and I highly recommend them for braces or even advice on options as they have been extremely helpful with the transition to braces.
(Not to mention my teeth look great now!) The before and after pictures surprise me every time I see them as it looks like a totally different person from the beginning.
Bottom line: Excellent Service, fun and friendly service (Dr. Don Wilson will throw in his jokes at no extra charge)
Definitely 5 stars, my only regret was not going in for braces earlier!

All around 5 star for great office, wonderful staff and of course Dr. Don who not only is knowledgable but also friendly and welcoming at all times. The result is of course great as well. Good job guys.

If I Could Give 10 Stars, I Would…
Please know that I am a very tough critic. My background has been in customer service for the last 30 years, and I feel that REALLY GOOD customer service is very hard to find these days. When I have something good to say, though, I like to shout it from a mountain top… so here it goes!
When looking for an orthodontist for our son, we agreed to interview three. All of them had RAVE REVIEWS, and we would have felt confident going with any of the doctors we interviewed. We met with Dr. Don Wilson first, as he was recommended by some very good friends in Tiburon. We also live in Tiburon, so we were not excited to make the drive to Novato for check ups, but they gave him such a glowing recommendation, we felt we needed to add him to our list.
Dr. Don made a commitment to my son on day 1. He took preliminary photos of his mouth (the others did not), and started treating him as his patient on that same interview day (where the others, although qualified, did not make us feel like we were «family», like Dr. Don and his staff did). His staff called Jake by name, was truly happy we were there, and the energy was such that we knew it would be a great experience. I trusted Dr. Don and his staff immediately.
We went through with the other two interviews. Both orthodontists were ready to start on Jake right away. Dr. Don, however, said, «Let’s give him another 6 months to see if his teeth straighten out naturally a bit more». I LOVED that he didn’t «slam ‘us’ into the chair». Thank you, Dr. Don.
This orthodontist was worth making the longer drive to see!
Throughout our 18 month relationship, we never had a bad experience. The staff greeted us by name and with big smiles every time we walked in the door, the energy of the office was always «top notch», and the care given to my son was exemplary. Dr. Don’s team really has it together, from Cat in the administration office, to the receptionists, to the other staff members, some who never even touched Jake’s mouth. We truly felt like this office works hard, and IS happy… and that felt good… that ALWAYS FEELS GOOD!
My son’s teeth were «okay» when we saw Dr. Don on our first visit. Many parents may have assumed that my son’s teeth were «just fine»…and they were. But his new smile is GORGEOUS and his self-​esteem is «off the charts». I could not think of a better investment in my son’s future and well being. Thank you Dr. Don for adding that «little bit of perfection» to an already great kid!
On our graduation day (braces off), I called in early to ask Dr. Don if he would play a mean prank on my son and tell him he’d have to keep his braces on for a few more months. We came to Dr. Wilson and were immediately impressed with his enthusiasm and energy. You can tell he loves his profession and making smiles beautiful. I have found that the staff is always friendly, easy to get ahold of, and it’s super easy to make appointments. We make the drive to Novato from Petaluma to see Dr. Wilson. I was concerned about this in the beginning, however, it hasn’t been bad at all. We only need to go for scheduled appointments. I was expecting to have to go into the office frequently in the event that a bracket or wire broke somehow, but this has not been an issue.
I believe Dr. Wilson is trustworthy in his recommendations. He did not try to sell me two sets of braces like many of my daughters friends received from other offices. When we had our initial consultation, he recommended a palatal expander instead. We had some baby teeth removed and waited for the adult teeth to finish growing in. In short, he made sure the timing was right for my daughter before placing the braces. He clearly explained why my daughter needed braces, not just for esthetics but for function as well. It has been about 8 months now and my daughters smile is already more beautiful.
I also want to express that the office is clean. I work in the dental field and can tell you that from what I have seen while there, the office clean and sterile!

If going to a dentist can be frightening especially for a child, going to an orthodontist can get even worse. My family experience with Dr Wilson is that there is nothing to worry, and it feels like «Cheers» — where everyone knows your name. Dr Wilson and his staff are very knowledgeable in what they do, and it is not hard to feel confident. I appreciate the flexibility and all the work that they have done for us.

We have 5 kids that we have «put thru» doctor Don. Our oldest is all done with his treatment and just graduated from High School and we were very happy to see that he won ‘Best Smile”. It is amazing to see how much not only all their teeth have changed but also how much their faces and jawlines have changed. I had braces when I was young and didn’t wear my bottom retainer as I should have — I am going to go to Dr. Don to straighten those 4 teeth as well. We are a family who believes in the work he does plus he has such a great personality my kids enjoy their appointments.

Dr. Wilson was an integral part of my treatment for a very complex case with tons of crowding and four teeth to be removed causing sagging of the face later in life. Dr. Wilson is a skilled perfectionist, extremely knowledgeable, patient and dedicated. Dr. Wilson took the time to make sure I had the beautiful smile I wanted and because of him I didn’t need to have any teeth removed. I had my braces for about three years and the wait was worth it. I cried when I got my braces off because they were so beautiful. I constantly get compliments on my smile. Every appointment is on time and prompt. Not only was the outcome a success, but all of my appointments have been comfortable. They have very comfortable chairs with a tv right above you so you are comfortable and entertained. The office is clean, professional and efficient. There is a computer on each chair so it’s great to know his entire staff are up to date with my files. The staff are genuinely kind-​hearted and happy to be working in the office. Dr. Wilson makes brushing and flossing your teeth a routine with the creative idea of having tooth tokens that you get every time you come in. You can change the tokens for prizes which you can view as you are in the waiting room. I’m so grateful for Dr. Wilson and his amazing and professional staff. This place goes above and beyond my expectations and I couldn’t be happier with my new smile. I highly recommend this for anyone needing orthodontic work. Thank you Dr. Wilson and staff!

The staff is wonderful, Dr. Don himself fantastic. Why 3 stars? Because it can be really, really difficult to get a hold of anyone at times, especially when you work. The office is closed between 1 – 2 for lunch, which so happens to be when I am able to call. You can leave a message, but then someone has to call you back, which of course is when you can’t take the call. Very frustrating. I don’t know why the staff can’t «stagger» lunch so that there is always someone available. Also, their somewhat limited office hours worked fine (4 days a week) when my son was in grammar school, but now that he is in high school and plays a sport, it would be nice if there were weekend or late night appointments available.

These guys are REALLY wonderful. I called all day looking for a reputable ortho close to work that could take an impression and make a replacement retainer for me in office. These guys fit me in — same day — and had my retainer ready in 20 minutes! Other places had no interest in helping me or wanted to help but had a one month turn around for retainers. The ladies at Dr. Wilson’s were extremely warm and friendly, very accommodating (obviously) and treated me just like I was one of their regular ortho patients! Beautiful office, great team and though my time with the doctor was brief he left a great impression. I would recommend any friend or family member to Dr. Wilson’s office for treatment as they are extremely professional, full of energy, and very inviting. They had fairly little to gain from my visit but treated me well all the same and in my book they pretty much saved my smile as I had lost my retainer and couldn’t make it to my Dentist’s office in Fremont. To top if off, the people here actually seem to enjoy their work. All of that passion, comfort, accommodation and respect make a huge difference when folks are messing around with your teeth, especially if you encounter any sort of problem!

I have nothing but good things to say about my experience. Visiting Dr. Don and the girls was always as pleasant an experience as going to the dentist could be. They are a great team. The office environment is casual, friendly, and fun while the care provided is excellent and very professional. I’m very happy with the results.

My son has an incredibly complicated situation. In addition to the normal messed up bite that all our kids have, he is missing seven permanent teeth. He has one tooth that came in late and sideways. He was a patient of another orthodontist. We had done Phase 1, were about to start Phase 2, and it looked like there was also going to be a Phase 3 for just the braces. I decided to get a second opinion.
Dr. Wilson developed a comprehensive plan to address the many different issues. There was only one Phase 2; there won’t be a Phase 3. His plan included pulling a couple of the baby teeth that were going to come out anyway, moving some other teeth, and making use of the lower wisdom teeth in order to avoid putting implants in the lower jaw. This means my son needs only five implants instead of seven, saving him the trauma in the lower jaw and saving us a significant amount of money.
The office is large and comfortable. The environment is relaxed. Everybody there seems genuinely good-​natured. There is a whole wall of sterilization equipment.
They took my son’s braces off yesterday. The rest of the baby teeth will come out and the implants will go in over the next few months. We are very happy that Dr. Wilson and his staff are part of the team. I hate to think of where we would be in this process without them.

Honestly, Dr. Wilson & staff are the best of the best in the biz. It has been about a year (maybe a little more) since I got my braces off and was for all intents and purposes released from Dr. Wilson’s care. However, there have been times since then that I have felt that my bite hasn’t felt quite right. This morning I called Dr. Wilson’s office to request an appointment for an adjustment. On the voice mail that I left in the morning, I explained that I have a new job and that I wouldn’t be available until after 5:30 PM. His receptionist called me back promptly and offered me a same-​day appointment after I got off work. Dr. Wilson’s has always been a place in which all the staff knows you by name (for all their patients) and I received a warm greeting when I arrived. Even though I am not an active patient because my treatment has been completed therefore I am no longer paying, l received my adjustment plus a polish AND they cleaned my retainer for me while I was in the chair! Dr. Wilson is so good to his patients. Also, I’m pretty sure that he is good to his employees too because in the whole 4 or so years that I have been his patient I rarely see personnel changes.
I didn’t really explain in my first post but I got braces put on when I was around 20 years old. Unfortunately I had to get jaw surgery as well but Dr. Wilson has wide reach when it comes to professional networking and he referred me to a female surgeon at Kaiser because I have Kaiser for health insurance. My surgeon did an excellent job and Dr. Wilson has been amazingly integral in solving my orthodontic woes. I get complimented daily on my beautiful smile thanks to this office!

I love this office. Dr. Wilson and his staff are very friendly and they make our visits to the office enjoyable.

False promises.

Dr. Don and his staff are absolutely the best. He put braces on my husband a couple of years ago, and his teeth turned out great.
My husband had a large bridge in the front of his mouth that had to be replaced and Dr. Don was more that willing to help coordinate the creation of the bridge with our regular dentist — no extra charges for the phone calls and no hassles.
I originally had braces put on in my early 20’s, but over the past 30+ years, my teeth have moved around a bit. I went to see Dr. Don for a consultation. After looking at my x-​rays, Dr. Don simply told me that because of the amount of bone loss I already had in my lower jaw, he wasn’t willing to add to that problem by putting me in braces again. In other words, he turned me down. He could have made a pile of money from me, but he chose the ethical route — that says a LOT about the kind of person he truly is.
So that I don’t have to be exposed to more X-​Rays, Dr. Don and his staff have generously sent my consultation x-​rays to several other dentists and periodontists while I try and sort things out. I guess you can tell, I just think the world of him and his staff.
If you decide to get braces, you will NOT be sorry if you decide to go with Dr. Don!

Dr. Don Wilson and his entire staff are beyond AMAZING! Two of my children are his patients and I could not possibly be happier with the overall treatment, level of care and attention to detail they receive when ever we walk into Dr. Don’s office. We are only mid way through my daughter’s treatment and just started my son’s treatment– but I am confident I will be just as happy at the end of their treatment as I am today (I will come back to Unilocal & update as we go).
I personally had the option to have my children treated in another Ortho’s office in Marin and my insurance would have cover almost 90% of the costs. After 3 meetings with the other Ortho’s office — I pulled my son from their care and brought him to Dr. Wilson. I opted to pay out of pocket in exchange for peace of mind.
Dr. Don is a perfectionist. His office is spotless and stress free. His technology is cutting edge. And he and his team are incredibly nice and professional (and a bit silly)!
I recommend anyone who is looking at orthos make an appointment. to see Dr. Don. Even if you have to drive from Mill Valley or beyond. He is well worth the trip to Novato and his initial consultation is incredibly detailed and complimentary. You will not be sorry!
