B & D Tailors and Cleaners

Very small company. They do a good job with dry cleaning. The return on your items however takes a while. I brought in 4 men’s dress shirts and 2 suits on Wednesday and they were trying to have me pick them up the following Wednesday. Who has time for their clothes to be gone a week? They also charged me 10 dollars for patching up a small hole in the crotch area of men’s dress pants… At the old place I went to it was maybe 3 dollars for that service.

So not to say I wasn’t totally panicked when I brought my Maid of Honor dress in a week before my best friends wedding… but sleeping at night was no longer an option. The dress I brought in was way too big, super long, a million layers, and STRAPLESS. I had nightmares of seams splitting open during the fluffing of her wedding dress train, or of it merely giving up and falling to my ankles as I walked down the aisle. I had no idea how they were going to make this dress fit me. They were both so calm (I was so panicked I didn’t even get their names. The seamstress and her husband) I assumed they had never altered a dress before and didn’t realize the amount of work it was going to take. They assured me it was going to be ok. When I came to pick it up the day before the wedding, I was literally shaking (having waited until the last possible day to pick it up) Bad idea. I don’t suggest doing that. However… the dress fit AMAZINGLY. The seams were flawless, the size was perfect. It was incredible. I totally hugged the poor seamstress in the fitting room, and possibly cried a little. She was a good sport about it. I’m sorry I brought the dress in so late, but I am not sorry that I brought it here. I danced all night in a fabulous strapless gown and never once had to tug it back up… and for that I am eternally grateful.

I was going out of town and needed a dress and pants hemmed immediately while other places said NO B&D got it done!!!, They did it in 24 hours!!! Very lovely couple Can’t thank them enough!!!

I needed a few inches taken in for a dress with lining that I purchased from jCrew which I am wearing as a guest of a wedding in a few weeks. It was baggy around my waist and under my arms. The dress fit me very well afterward. The seams were good quality. The alteration took about 1 week.
