Target Portrait Studio

Maya took my graduate portraits and I had the best experience! She was warm and friendly and made me feel comfortable right away. Her ideas for poses were brilliant and resulted in beautifully composed photographs. I was surprised that, for once, I didn’t look so awkward in a photograph! I would absolutely recommend her to anyone needing portraits done! Also, prices were inexpensive!

Dont go here sucks they take ehh pics the girl totally rushed me because she was running late I complained and called customer service they gave a free sheet which I wouldn’t go back there lol their should of been 2 people there and the pics were of me and my son and husband first family pictures did not like them. I had to feed my son who was only 3 months and she kind of was bothered ugh bad experience she wasn’t even nice.

If it weren’t for the outstanding customer service by Melissa M., not to mention my Groupon deal, I would probably give Target Portrait Studio in Norwalk 3 stars.
She wasn’t our photographer, but Melissa helped us in all other facets. She’s a 5-​star employee.
For our appointment in November (2014), we arrived about 15 minutes before our scheduled appointment… only to find that the family right before us was late, not to mention there was ANOTHER family waiting to take their pictures. Ha! On top of that, there was a single employee (Melissa) present to check people in AND take pictures.
After we waited about a half hour more to take our photos, our children who at the time were only 3-​months and 16-​months-​old were fairly cranky. We still managed to get a few good holiday pictures out of the session.
A few tips…
Be patient.
Make an appointment when your children are typically bright-​eyed and happy. Timing is everything with little ones. It sucks when plans don’t go accordingly, but children feed off of your energy… refer to the first tip & get great smiles!
Know what poses and shots of which family members you want & communicate them to the photographer. Otherwise, they’ll try to take the opportunity from you.
The actual studio room is small. It might get a little stuffy, but you have only about 10 minutes for your entire shoot.
Right after photos, the ordering process is super rushed. Simply ask for more time if you need it. Their your pictures. Your money.
Buy a Groupon deal. The one I chose was $ 29.99 for one photo shoot, including a «gallery-​wrap print, free sitting fees, & 40% off additional portrait purchases, including the full-​album CD.»

The holiday cards were printed on photo paper. Kind of disappointing, but still good quality.
The gallery wrap is somewhat delicate. Melissa suggested that we hang it as soon as we took it out of the box. I really like it in sepia.

I had an amazing experience with the entire staff of the portrait studio. I recently took in my two boys ages 3 and 5 for holiday photos. My 3 year old son is autistic and very sensitive to lights, sounds and new people. I let the staff know of his autism before we began the session and they were all very attentive, sensitive to his needs, gentle and very patient. Even though the holidays are a busy time, I never once felt rushed or any sort of frustation coming from any of the staff members. It’s a tough job trying to get two young boys to sit long enough for photos but the photographer was able to get some beautiful photos of both of my sons individually and together. As a mother with a special needs child I am very grateful for their kindness and patience. I will definately be returning to this studio.

When we arrived, we weren’t greeted. We were standing by the front of the portrait studio… waiting. There was only one lady out in front, and she was showing pictures to a family on the computer and placing their order. When she finished, there still wasn’t a greeting until I walked into the portrait studio further. Then, she asked if I had an appointment. I did. I made one the day prior. We wanted my son to get Halloween pictures done for his first Halloween. She gave us a paper, and she asked us to select two backgrounds. She, also, said that there was a Halloween background, but it was far too creepy for my son and his cute (not scary) costume. It was a dark, shadowy haunted house with a dark purple sky. Anyway, the lady that greeted us was the one who took the pictures. As far as taking pictures, she did a good job posing my son and trying to get him to smile. She allowed for a costume change, and she didn’t get mad when we got in the way (by accident). It’s a very small space! She complimented my child a lot, which of course, we appreciated. When done, we were able to look at the pictures. I was satisfied with the outcome. (My child gets a lot of credit for being amazing and not getting fussy while the pictures were being taken.) We got quite a few good ones, but the ordering process felt a bit rushed. So… that and the non-​greeting, I had to take away one star. Will I return? Yes. Not for family portraits, but this place is good for just random celebratory pictures for my son.

I’ve been here several times. The photographers are professional and accommodate my wants. I continue to go back because of this. BTW, this studio oils Lifetouch, the same as JCP, but you get better customer service here.

Poor management! Appointment was at 11:30. Pictures were taken until 12:30. Now 1:15 and still waiting to place order. Alice was wonderful and very apologetic but seriously when you are working with kids time is very important. This is strike 3 for target portrait studio in Norwalk.

Took my two-​month old to take his Halloween pictures here and his two-​month old pictures. First, the photographer didn’t ask for our input in what type of background we wanted. He chose a dark Halloween background you can barely see in the photos. The Halloween photos looked like they were taken by an amateur! I have taken better pictures on my point and shoot camera. The other photos taken were the typical naked baby pictures and face close-​ups. These came out ok but I was not happy with how he rushed with the photos– no patience at all. The quality of the photo paper used by the company is great but considering the photographer, the prices are not worth your money. I have had better experiences elsewhere. It’s safe to say I will not be going back here.

rude service. she didn’t seem like she enjoyed the job or «dealing» with my two kids. If they didn’t immediately do what she wanted them to do, she had a very sarcastic tone and just generally rubbed me the wrong way. she cut the top of my head off in all the pictures she took.

Went to get some pics taken last friday. I was disappointed with the photographer. No real enthusiasm from her. She seemed more interested in making as easy as possible for herself. She had us siting on some dirty white sheet for most of the shoot even though I requested a chair or something. She did use a stupid bean bag for a couple of shots, but thats it, after that it was the floor. Also, my 1 yr old had a little runny nose and she just kept taking pics even though I would try to clean her nose in between some shots. How stupid is she to think I would want to pay for photos with a baby having a runny nose!!! I asked her to crop out our shoes in one of the shots, she said she couldn’t do it. She had cropped the pic enough. Huh? Are you kidding me! She preselected images and backgrounds on her own, I had no say our input, plus she went thru the proofs too fast! Not the greatest experience. Was there once before and I had a better photographer back then. Bottom line was not happy with the photographers work or energy. Pics are ok. I pick them up this Friday, so we shall see.
