My husband and I stopped in to the «sleep etc.» in Stamford on High Ridge Road on Saturday. We were looking for pillows and walked out with a new mattress! Brian, the store manager, was great. He spent a lot of time with us and worked within our budget. He was honest and straight forward. If something happens to your mattress within your warranty period, you call them directly… not an 800#! We’ve been married for 35 years and have bought several mattresses. This has been, by far, the best experience we’ve ever had! Thank you, Brian!

having moved from NYC to CT in Feb 2014, I knew I wanted our new bed to be a King size Organic Latex mattress. I did a ton of research on what to get and went to every location in CT that sells what I was looking for. Sleep Etc not only was offering the best price for the higher quality Mattress, but, Andre and Jeff provided genuine high quality customer service. Friendly with just the right amount of sales attention without being pushy. Andre was never inconvenienced by the 1000’s of question I had and was available each and every time I or my husband came in to lay on all the choices.
Jeff and I communicated via email and his accessibility was unparalleled. He responded quickly and with no attitude and most importantly with TONS of detailed information about the products and exactly where they came from down to the molecule.
It’s now over ONE YEAR since we got our heavenly King size organic Latex «Dreamscape Terra Bed»! After a few months of sleeping on it, my friend asked me about it and he and his wife came down from W. Hartford to Sleep Etc. and they got the same bed.
The bed has reduced my body pain and both my husband and I agree our favorite place to be in sleeping in our divine bed!
What tops off its perfection are the stone washed Belgian Linen sheets we got.
I feel a little guilty that other people I know don’t have or know this Sheer perfection!

True definition of customer service is what Sleep Etc. is all about.
I was referred to Sleep Etc. through a friend who highly recommended me and I’m glad I went. I find shopping for a mattress difficult and Anthony and the team were more than helpful.
I did not like the first mattress that I chose, so they helped me select a different one and exchanged it out for me with no additional charges. As a matter of fact, I didn’t like the second one, the third one either.
I didn’t want to go back and tell them I didn’t like the mattresses, but I did b/​c of the poor sleep I was experiencing. Each and every time, Anthony was very helpful and wanted to make sure that I loved whatever mattress I decided to go with.
I highly recommend this store for both their selection and the amazing customer service that you will receive.

Wow, if you are in the market for a bed or sleep accessories and you don’t go to sleep etc. you are doing yourself a huge disservice!
The team at Sleep Etc are as professional and knowledgable as they come. You can tell that they know their stuff just by asking some simple questions. They love what they do and they are great at it too. The experience from start to finish was first class, and they really went above and beyond to make sure that we got a great bed for our needs. You cannot even put the chain mattress stores in the same league as Sleep etc. I highly recommend you check it out to see what you are missing! You’ll regret not investing in a great nights sleep.

This one-​star review has nothing to do with the quality of service or the product they sell. But how would you feel if you walk in a store, OPEN sign lit, and the only person there was a cleaning person who spoke no English and a large dog jumping on you? The door was open, and that Open sign was on. It was a few minutes after 10:00… they open at 10:00. The lights near the front window were on, but no other lights in the store were on except the office in the back. We walked back there, called out into the office… nothing. I love dogs, but is this really appropriate? This was a rather large dog. Some people don’t like dogs and some are even afraid. So a large dog running at you, licking your hands, is not right! I called when I got back home, and the person who answered said the owner had probably stepped out to get something to eat. I would suggest that the owner arrive BEFORE unlocking the front door, with enough time to go and get something to eat. That store was basically unattended and open while this owner left the premises. I won’t go back.

To make a long story short, Jeff Klein and Andre went way more than the extra mile both in terms of the time they spent educating my wife and I and in their cooperation in solving an unforeseen problem. Jeff was truly only interested in making sure that we were happy with our purchase and that it would be the best solution for us. It was a very unique experience: concern, attention, and service.

I don’t usually write reviews on Unilocal. (Actually this is my first time!) But I feel like I had to share this experience this time!
We bought a Carpe Diem Bed from Sleep Etc., and both their service and product are truly exceptional. If you know anything about the Carpe Diem beds, you would know that it is not a easy purchase to make regarding the price. However, Jeff and Andre helped us through the entire journey: from making the decision to the delivery of the bed. Even the delivery guys were very nice! (It was very different from my uncomfortable experience with the Macy’s mattress delivery guys)
It has been 3 weeks since I started sleeping on a Carpe Diem bed, and I think this is one of the best purchase I made in my entire life. Before, I had a serious back pain every morning, but now my mornings are way better. The back pain comes back from time to time during the day depending on my situation. However, it significantly got better, making me want to spread the word about this bed. (that is actually how I found about it in first place)
Even you are considering to purchase something other than the Cape Diem beds, I don’t think you will be disappointed with their great assortment of products and services. Hope this helps!

I CANNOT speak more highly of the customer service you get at Sleep Etc. Jeff Klein, the owner of this family owned business, could not have been more accommodating to me when purchasing a bed. Walking into his showroom is a better experience than the bed chain stores out there. His showroom presents the products in a better, more upscale way. Don’t be deceived by the tiny strip of shops it is located in. He has great stuff! I was looking to buy the same bed that I bought earlier in the Spring. He looked up my order from a bed purchased 3 months ago for my son and gave me the same great price that was offered 3 months ago, even though it was currently $ 200 more. He went the extra mile every step of the way. After the purchase, he received an SOS call late in the afternoon from NYC when we were trying to assemble the frame… 3 blondes, need I say more!!! Only kidding! But, he was so very helpful and talked us through the frame set up and we were able to get the bed put together. He was so patient and kind to us. We LOVE the bed itself as well and are so happy!!!
A MUCH superior bed to the selection at the bigger chain stores and his price point/​quality for the money is superior. SLEEP ETC Rules in the bed business. Many thanks, Jeff, for your outstanding service and product.

These words were copied straight from the Sleep Etc website. They were stated by Sleep Etc President Jeff Klien.
After our experience I can truly say that Jeff, Anthony, Paul and the entire Team at Sleep Etc are amazing.
My Husband and I bought a mattress and bed frame from Sleep etc in April of 2010. After about 6 months the bed started to cave in the center. We placed only one phone call to Paul in the Stamford location and within a week we had a new mattress.
Several months later we had the same problem. My husband has back problems so we knew we had to make the call over to Sleep Etc to see what could be done. They sent out their guys right away to see what the problem was. After a bit of research by Anthony we figured out that our platform bed was not the support system that we needed. In addition, the mattress we had purchased was not right for us either.
Anthony met with my husband to discuss different options for us. He came up with a plan to get a low profile box spring to fit into our platform bed. Which would maintain the sleek look of the bed while providing more support for us. He also suggested a mattress which would better suit our needs.
They new bed and box spring was delivered last week and has made such a difference!
They did all this 100% FREE! No additional cost to us. This is what customer service is all about.
In addition their delivery guys (who have been out our apartment four times) are great! Very knowledgeable and professional!
We couldn’t be happier with the experience we have had with Sleep etc. We would recommend Sleep etc over any other matress store.

Not Dux but in same class, go for the Carpe Diem and you’ll quickly realize there is life without pain in the back, shoulders, etc. This will of course cause you much pain in the bank account!

I really value customer reviews when I’m researching an expensive purchase, so thought I’d write one myself. I had an absolutely wonderful experience buying a bed from Sleep Etc in Stamford.
My husband and I did a substantial amount of research before buying a new mattress, including buying a subscription to Consumer Reports and going to several mattress stores (including Duxiana in Greenwich) to test beds ourselves. We were turned off during most of our visits due to the sleazy sales people we came across. That did not happen at all at Sleep Etc. We worked with Paul, the manager of the store in Stamford, and he was wonderful. Not pushy at all, just very helpful and informative about the various benefits of each type of mattress. A complete 180 from the people you deal with at stores like Sleepy’s.
Now to the mattress itself. We bought 2 twin XL terra brand pillow top mattresses (i don’t recall the exact model name). The beds were extremely comfortable and soft, exactly what I thought that I liked. Unfortunately, when I woke up in the morning, my back would be sore because the mattress wasn’t very supportive. That said, I had not been shopping for a firm mattress — I asked for a soft one. So I was looking for the wrong product for myself. I really wish it didn’t bother my back, because it was the most comfortable mattress I’ve ever owned! Sleep Etc has an awesome return policy — full store credit if returned within 90 days, no questions asked, provided there’s no damage to the mattress. I fully expected there to be some sort of catch when we actually tried to return the mattress, but it wasn’t a problem at all. Paul apologized that the mattress wasn’t to our liking, and helped us find a mattress that was better suited for our needs. We ended up buying a floor model king size Englander (again, can’t remember the exact model name) for slightly more than we had paid for the other beds. Because it was a floor model, we got an AMAZING deal. And we’ve had the bed for over a month, and it’s been great. No back pain, very supportive, no complaints at all. We just had to pay the difference in price as well as shipping (shipping was free the first time, but they say if you return it, you need to pay for it the 2^nd time — fair enough).
My experience was great, I will definitely shop here again in the future!

(I posted this on another forum but also wanted to share it here. It’s also something I pretty much said in a recent phone call to Sleep Etc. owner Jeff Klein, whom I’ve never personally met.)
Seven years ago we bought a natural latex mattress with a phenomenal topper at Ergo in Southern Ca. It was a great bed … until the wool topper started to wear out. I noticed I was (for years!) increasingly not sleeping well.
We then moved to Connecticut and toyed with buying a new topper to replace the old. It would have been nearly $ 1000.
THEN we started shopping. We tried a natural latex bed from another local manufacturer, but couldn’t get it just right. We shopped around at higher end stores and got close to going the Kluft route, but after going the alternative route with the latex — it just didn’t feel right. (at the time we were in the $ 3,000 to $ 6000 category.)
THEN… on a lark we stumbled into the Sleep Etc store in Stamford. Paul the manager showed us what he had. Nothing seemed to interest us.
THEN… he suggested we try the Carpe Diem, which were WAY out of our price range. (Turns out they’re the national distributor.)
We have never looked back. I realize buying a bed is highly personal. Some people like foam, latex and/​or air. We bought the Carpe Diem and at the age of 59 I can tell you that for the past three months (enough time to know!) my wife and I have never slept better. This is, without a doubt, THE BEST bed I have ever slept in. Period. Nothing comes close.
Best part: I’m sleeping through the night again! It sounds totally corny and promotinal, but it’s true. I have not slept this well in years. Very little tossing and turning. Somehow they removed all levels of pressure. I justified the price by reminding myself i spend 6 – 7 hours a night in the bed and it’ll likely be the last bed I ever buy. I’ll have to replace the topper, but … it’s the quality of sleep that counts. The worst part about this bed: I hate to get out of it in the morning.
I’m not in any way associated with Sleep Etc. or Carpe Diem. I’m just a guy who has shopped for beds for years. I consider myself an educated mattress shopper. Like many of you (us) we experienced failures with traditional beds as the qaulity started to deteriorate. (One too many Sterns & Fosters!)
We’re so sold on this bed that we recently replaced an older traditional bed in our guest room with … a Carpe Diem from Sleep Etc. Just couldn’t bring ourselves to buy anything else. Lots of money, but worth it.
My prediction is that Carpe Diem and premium beds, in general, will increasingly capture a larger chunk of the bedding market, mostly by world-​of-​mouth.
