Mr B the Chimney Sweep

Mr. B does a great job. Very clean and does not try to up sell repairs. Our chimney was extra dirty as it had been almost 3 years since he cleaned it. Mr. B did not complain. He offered easy free ventilation ideas to help reduce build up.

Contacted Mr. B a couple of weeks ago and was able to schedule a sweep and spark arrestor installation. On the day of the appointment he showed up right on time and ready to get to work. He was very nice from initial introduction all the way to completion of the job. It took him about an hour to complete the cleaning and installation of the arrestor. After he finished he explained everything that he did and even painted the inside of my fireplace so it looks brand new. He also answered all my questions and explained the ins and outs of my particular chimney. Doesn’t get any better when it comes to price and service. Don’t look any further for a chimney cleaning and call this guy.

Unfortunately, I did not have a good experience with this man, Mr. B.
I originally called him out back in October for two things. First, to clean a fireplace and metal flue. Second, to repair and seal a leaky chimney. At first, his prices were reasonable. I told him that I could only cover the cleaning for now and I will have to call him at a later date for the chimney repair.
So, he does the cleaning. After he’s done, he comes to me with a chuckle and explains to me how the flue is old and falling apart and that the fireplace is not to code. He then asks for his check. I then inquired why he is telling me this now and not before he cleaned it. Why bother cleaning it when it needs to be replaced?
Even though that was annoying, he gave a good price for the chimney repair. I called his secretary a couple of days ago and she had indicated that he is busy, but he can do it after the new year, no problem. I told her that was fine, no big rush. She scheduled a date.
That evening I get a call from Mr. B. He says «I have to turn down your job, too busy». He was not apologetic at all and very condescending, stating that I had lost my chance. Total jerk. Call someone else who is more professional.

We called to make an appointment for later in the week. We got a call later saying that he was near us and could clean it the same day. Yippee! He was right on time and took about an hour. He was professional and very nice. We are very satisfied with his work and would recommend to all.

Mr. B is honest and professional. I am very piky in hiring someone. His price is very reasonable. He took his time when he cleaned and fixed my chimney. I will use him again without any doubt.

If you are looking for a clean, polite, and through chimney sweep, look no further. Mr B is your man. We highly recommend him!

I can’t really review this guy’s service BECAUSE HE NEVER SHOWED UP! No phone call… no nothing! I had a feeling we’d have to reschedule because it was raining that day, but I never heard from him.

Came on time and got right to work. Spent some good time working on the job and told me the things that were good and bad and told me about places to get replacement inserts, etc. He even painted the inside of the chimney giving it a nice fresh look at no additional charge.
He even gives you a lotto ticket for fun with each service… Did I win? :)
Great work, good person and came the following day after call which worked with my schedule.

I had three chimneys to clean. What a great job. Cleaned everything. Showed us how to use them and no mess.

Mr. B was extremely friendly with us! He was efficient, helpful, and did the job right in the amount of time stated! He cleaned the chimney, installed a spark arrester, and even sealed a repaired a couple cracks that we had in the chimney free of charge!
