Fantastic restaurant with excellent food. They prepare it fresh when you order, so be prepared to wait a little, but so worth it!

This place was awesome. Valencia is great but this place didn’t have an hour wait and they were super friendly… My friends and I stopped in for lunch and I had the pabellon arepa and a guanabana batido !! Delicioso!

First time having arepas, and we’ll be back for sure! Delicious, inexpensive, friendly service. The blackberry and passion fruit smoothies were excellent as well.

My friend and I have driven past this place many times and each time told ourselves we’d try it but never did. Not sure what clicked one day, but I’m glad it did. There’s a huge Venezuelan flag on the store front so this place is hard to miss. When you walk in, you can definitely feel(and smell) the authenticity. We were greeted by the owner and ordered four arepas, two Pabellon(plantains, beans and shredded chicken) a chicken and cheddar and a pernil(roasted pork). They were all absolutely delicious but the pernil stole the show. There was a crisp quality to it but a savory and filling tenderness to each bite which went perfectly with the freshly grilled arepa. They were served hot and super fresh with a mild green sauce and spicier red sauce(which could’ve been spicier for my taste). We are regulars at Valencia but Masas definitely beats them in the Arepa category. The mere fact that we were surrounded by Venezuelans reminiscing about life at home while eating at Masas really says it all.

I went here for lunch with some colleagues and we all really enjoyed it. You do need to be prepared to wait otherwise call ahead(as long as you know what you want) and pick up. They did not have any menus to take away last time but they were planning on printing some soon. Either way, you’re getting delicious, freshly made, flavorful arepas! One of the yummiest arepa I’ve had in this area for a while.

Masas is a Venezuelan restaurant in Norwalk, CT that sells delicious arepas, chachapas, and sandwiches. The arepas at Masas are cooked when you order them, so expect a wait time of 10 – 15 minutes until your meal is served. But nothing beats a fresh arepa — especially theirs — grill marks and all. The outside of the arepa is slightly crispy, and the inside is soft and warm, even until you reach the last bite.
