I shopped around for my first Botox application between my eyebrows. I was looking for a very natural look, and wanted a tiny amount to try out. I visited several surgeons who were pushy about the amount of Botox they wanted to inject (a lot more than I was comfortable with), and one of them even pointed out other «problems» he wanted to «fix». It seems that they were trying to sell Botox without taking my opinion into consideration.
Dr. Kirwan was a breath of fresh air. He listened to me, understood my concerns, and used the amount of Botox I felt comfortable with. As a fellow glass-​wearer, he understood exactly the kind of frowning that was creating creases and giving me headaches. Never mind that other surgeons claimed such a small amount wouldn’t work! My forehead looks relaxed and I am still able to move it, but the headaches and deep creases are gone.

Dr. Kirwan, used fillers on my face with not very pretty effects. I called and asked if he would correct the situation asap. I got put off by the office again and again, and when it came time for my scheduled appointment they cancelled it. I asked for full refund, and they agreed, but still have not seen a penny. Now I have found another Dr. who corrected what Dr. Kirwan, refused to do. There is no proper follow up — -he can be out of the country, and Dr. Kirwan does not care nor is inclined to deal with his patients or the outcome of his own work.

So disappointed in Dr. Kirwan and my entire experience with him and his staff. I went in for a rhinoplasty and Septoplasty (to correct a deviated septum) this past August. After my initial consultation Dr. kirwan asked if I had insurance and if I did the Septoplasty would be covered (I understand that Rhinoplasty is not covered by my insurance however the Septoplasty is). Before I left that day I paid an additional 1700 $ to his office for the procedure… as I was checking out his office manager Yvonne told me specifically that «as soon as your insurance claim is paid we will refund your 1700 $.» Big mistake on my part… they never had any intention of following through and actually filing said insurance claim. Since then I have been going back and forth with Yvonne and amother woman in the office Lia, both are horribly rude, condescending and just downright nasty to deal with. I have spoken repeatedly with Anthem Blue Cross and they have said over and over they haven’t received a properly filed claim from Dr. kirwans office. Unfortunately for me, I should have known better. I hope that people will beware of his dishonesty towards his patients. I am fully aware plastic surgeons do not take insurance for most things, however don’t suggest to me that a certain procedure will be covered and charge me extra under those false pretenses. I have spoken to him about this recently and they pretty much deny ever saying that and chalk it up to a misunderstanding… again in a condescending, patronizing way. Lia and Yvonne are total nightmares to deal with and honestly, if you can’t be a accommodating to a patient who has spent thousands of dollars and is trying to resolve an issue. then perhaps this isn’t the industry for either of them. There are so many other honest and kind plastic surgeons in this area… do yourself a favor and go elsewhere. Also… there are quiet a few reviews online about the offices attitude when issues need to be resolved… not to mention the chaos that surrounds Dr. Kirwan… I only wish I had read them before.
