Try to work with the father(?) the son is pretty lackadaisical about responding. Son knowledgeable but seemingly can’t be bothered to help at times. I sorry but I’m just a customer; what is so important?

I stopped in to find out more about this shop dedicated to lamp shades. I learned a great deal about lamps and shades. This is an independent shop, Second gen that does shades, customized and off the shelf and has some vintage and unique lamps for sale as well. Easy to find on Westport Ave. in Norwalk. Owner is friendly and knowledgeable. Check it out.

This is a family run business. I found the owners to be friendly, patient and helpful. I have been many times whether to buy lamp shades for new lamps or old lamps that needed freshening and updating. I have also brought in lamps and outside chandeliers for repairs. I find their repair rates very reasonable. The lamps shades come in a wide variety of shapes and sizes and if you need a particular color or fabric it can that can usually be ordered. They also have an array of lamps for sale that also include gorgeous Antique lamps. This is my go to Lamp and shade shop and I live in Greenwich.

This store has me somewhat baffled. I had a similar experience to the other reviewer. I was ignored for the first several minutes of being in the store. Eventually the owner came over and greeted me and he turned out to be very helpful and knowledgeable. And a bit quirky. In a well meaning way. Anyway I was a bit surprised at the prices of the shades at this store and also that he seemed to only carry one brand of lampshade. We discussed the type of room my lamp would be in and what I was looking for and he made a suggestion which ended up being the perfect shade for my lamp. Unfortunately he only had one in stock so he said he would order two for me– and it would be 6WEEKS before they would arrive. Really? For a lamp shade? Ok. I placed the order because I hate shopping around. And I’m still waiting even though I was hoping it would be under 6 weeks. Doesn’t look like its gonna be. This store is very expensive and I think for certain shades you could certainly find a nice selection online for less money or at another store like Home Goods. But there’s something to be said for being able to bring your lamp into a store, try different shades and different bulbs and see how they’re going to look before you commit.
