The employees were so great! I also had a nice conversation with the owner. Nice to know there are employees that care about their job and their customers. It was a great feeling to witness employees that love what they do. Cheers to this place.

Absolutely great experience. Mathew was AWESOME. The man knows what he’s talking about. Can you say PASSIONATE? Not pushy at all at trying to make a sale. Very laid back, and inviting environment. They have tons of gear to get you riding just the way you want too, weather it’s busting kickflips, or just cruising. I picked up some ‘bones’ wheels, new grip, as well as some kicks. Customer for life ese! Haha.

I have been coming here for years. I trust this team of people with my skates. (My skates are the equivalant to your 1^st born) They have helped maintain my skates over the years. They also have gone to bat for my plates that were defective and got me a replacement set, courtesy of the manufacture. I don’t know many places that will stand by their customers and do the right thing EVERY TIME. The quality of products they carry are only the best. They will not sell you anything less. All products have been tested and inspected for quality assurance. I promise you will not regret spending your money and time here. My favorite part is coming to have my skates maintained. They always keep me laughing and having a good time, while i hang out. Thanks for everything VSS. i do appreciate you guys. xo

Knowing that they sell roller skates I called the shop, I wanted these specific skates and one of the associates said they had them. When I got over there, I asked to see the skates I specifically asked for. Goes to show that they didn’t even have the skates I specifically asked for and the associate lied to me. He encouraged me to try on some roller skates anyway for sizing. Me being nice about it, I tried on some skates that I didn’t even want. The associate offered to order the skates that I originally asked for at the shop. He then asked the owner if it was possible to order the skates for me and I would pay a deposit to honor my commitment to my order. Very rudely, the owner said that she wouldn’t do it because it’s too much money and she thought they were poor quality. I left the shop without buying anything.
Associates should never lie about the products that they have to try and get customers in and it’s logical to be accommodating to customers since they’re not a corporate business that makes a lot of money. But instead they make customers not want to shop there again. And from reading these reviews on Unilocal,I’m not the only one who thinks the same way.

I LOVE This place!!! I’ve been looking for old skool «skater shoes» all over the place! I found Alex and Aviva, and they were so great and helpful! This place has a great selection, amazing prices, and even better customer service!!! They found a customer for life with me!

This is my new go-​to skate shop for all my rollerblade needs! After calling about 6 other shops around LA looking for a place to clean/​oil my blade bearings I finally got the response I was looking for «sure, bring them on in and we’ll take care of them for you». I finally was in the neighborhood and called ahead to make sure they had someone there to help me. They said sure, come on in and ask for Matt.
I arrived and was immediately greeted by 2 workers. I asked for Matt and he came right over to help me. I wasn’t really sure what I needed as I’ve never cleaned or tuned my blades but Matt explained everything to me and I even got to watch him while he did it. He suggested an upgrade to a set of maintainable bearings and explained all the differences between the options. I went with the lower end oil based bearings and I can already see the difference in how my blades perform. He also cleaned everything up inside the wheel well, rotated my wheels and gave me a new brake… which I was way overdue for! I even picked up a new skate bag while I was there since my old bag was pretty trashed. I couldn’t have asked for better service and a more friendly and knowledgeable employee to help me out. The prices are super affordable and the service is top notch. Thanks again Matt!

Popped in today to pick up roller derby gear for my daughter — had read several reviews here on Unilocal and elsewhere so I figured this was a safe bet. Basically, the reviews were spot on… great customer service from great people who really know their stuff.
I was helped by Aviva, a super sweet gal who knows derby and what each league expects of their skaters, Matt who knows skates just as well and was very thorough in explaining the subtle differences in each skate and pad, and Danny who also has extensive gear knowledge as well as unlimited patience in finding sizes that would fit my kid.
At no point did I feel pressured into any item like I would normally expect but they were realistic in explaining which items were worth the extra investment right away and which items which are best to start smaller and wait until she was more into the sport before spending the money.
In the end, I ended up with all the right gear for a bit less that I had anticipated, which is always a plus, but more so, I ended up with a trusted Pro-​Shop for whatever we need in the way of gear and service.
I would not hesitate to send a friend there to get hooked up with the right gear. Many thanks!!!

Really great customer service and very fair prices pretty comparable to online price. Pretty good selection of boards too. Prebuilts and custom.

I went here looking for inline skate wheels, which they don’t carry at this surf/​skateboard shop. Randy, the owner, was kind enough to stop what he was working on and guide me to another shop — a competitor actually — that handles inline skates. Not many business owners would do that and it speaks highly of a commitment to customer satisfaction, even if it has to be elsewhere. Thanks Randy!

Valley skate and surf is a great place to go for new skateboards and accessories. I always like this place because of the friendly service and fair prices. Granted you can find some stuff cheaper online, but if you buy here they will do the setup for free so that saves hassle and time. I give this place 5 stars because they do an outstanding job of service every time I’m here and I really appreciate them for it.

I come in here all the time. The staff is knowledge and always happy to answer your questions. Their products are reasonably priced as well. I sometimes come into the store just to have a look at the longboards and skateboards for sale. Theses guys cover it all. From skimboarding, to surfing, to longboarding, to inline skating.

My 11-​year old son and 8-​year old daughter took me into a Zumiez store at the mall to show me skateboards they wanted for Christmas. I said to myself, «No self-​respecting father who grew up riding would buy his kids skateboards at the mall.» Having grown up on Powell Peralta’s and Santa Cruz decks, I felt I owed it to my kids to find a shop they can go to over and over again as they seem pretty excited about really getting into skateboarding.
The young man (Sorry for forgetting your name) and the rest of the crew were very easy going and you could tell they all got along. In about ten minutes, he asked good questions, updated me on the current technology that skateboards decks, trucks and wheels offer, and walked me through some great options. I left there buying two boards that I know my kids will enjoy once they open them up on Christmas morning.
I am looking forward to going back with the kids.

Went in today. The owner could not have been more helpful and nice. Everyone that works there was really great and they all were knowledgeable. I bought new wheels for my skates and bearings. They put them on in no time and adjusted them. I went skating tonight and I love my new wheels. They weren’t pushy and didn’t try to sell me the most expensive ones in the store. Go there you’ll love it!

Hands down thee best customer service! Matthew helped me find the perfect rollerblades and made it such an easy and fun learning experience. I’m usually very picky, and I wanted my skates to not only be comfortable but also look stylish. I was able to find a pair that suited my style, comfort, and price range. He really took his time to explain the differences in the quality of skates, maintenance, and even sold me some great socks to go with it. Alex was also very helpful and I highly recommend going to them for help! No one had ever been so informative. Thanks again!

This place is amazing! I recently picked up my rollerblades again and decided to buy some gear. I only skate recreationally-​but nevertheless the staff was so accommodating! They were so helpful! Matthew is very knowledgable and helped me to choose the right equipment. Danny was also very nice and helpful. When I needed some advice about the old padding in my boot for my blades, Phillis was able to find something for me that worked perfectly! I love this place! Even bought a sweet pair of Toms. Glad u guys r around to keep me blading!!!

I skated in here today and asked them to tighten my trucks. They did it in a couple minutes no charge. Literally two min.
I’ve been here before and bought bearings and boards, it’s a quality place with good selection of shoes bearings and complete decks.
When I’m in the area and need board work I come here.
