Lived in Porter Ranch for 15 years and always saw thIs place but never thought to go there. I finally did this past weekend and got my haircut by Mary. Why did I wait so long??? It was a great cut and I’ll be going here from now on!

Had my haircut by Mary yesterday. She’s the person taking over for Doreen (not sure who she is since it was my first time there. Supposedly she was there for like 30 yrs. if this is news to you — sorry she retired…) Mary did a great job, took her time, told a few funny stories gave me a very clean cut. Overall very pleasant experience. It’s not always easy cutting Asian hair but she did an excellent job and I’ve been getting compliments at work all morning. I’ll definitely be going back to see her.

Been coming here for almost 40 years.

Hands down the best haircut I have had so far.
I was visiting L.A. for the week with family and didn’t have time to get a haircut before I flew in, and was desperately in need of one. Sandy has been cutting men’s hair for 38 years, is professional, extremely friendly and, most of all, communicates with you to figure out what you want.
It’s definitely worth your money, and I wish I had a place like this back home in Illinois. They prefer appointments and are fairly busy, so you should probably call ahead first. Very worth it!

Finally a haircut that I wanted! Sandy is amazing and she does what you exactly ask her to do. She believes cutting hair is all about communicating with her customer and totally agree with that. I have been at many hair saloons around the area by far she is the best.

My husband has been going here for years. He has this swirling vortex of hair on the top of his head, and then below that, another one. This configuration has been the defeat and bane of many a stylist. Enter Sandy. She takes her time, she wields her magic scissors, she tames the whirling beasts. He emerges looking so sharp and his hair — even in the back looks somehow well-​behaved and intentional. And stays that way. I don’t know how she does it.

Word to the wise, if you are 15 mins late, don’t bothering coming, just head to the Supercuts down the street.

I’ve lived in Porter Ranch for over a decade, but it wasn’t until recently that I gave Porter Ranch Hairstyling a go. After twelve years of the same, boring thing, I decided to try something new for the heck of it, so I called Sandy up.
I wasn’t sure what I wanted, really. I threw out come key words and phrases, such as «professional, but still age-​appropriate,» and Sandy took it from there. Without a moment’s pause, she knew what to do and got to it. Obviously, she knew a thing or two about hair, so I deferred to her good judgment. Lo and behold, after about twenty minutes, she had me looking like a respectable human being — quite a change from the unkempt Chia Pet look I was sporting when I walked in the door.
I should note that I was just as happy with the process as I was with the end result. Sandy and I carried on a pleasant conversation while she worked. She took her time and worked in small passes, always making sure that she hadn’t taken too much off for my liking. Her full attention was on me and making me look my best.
Needless to say, she has earned herself a repeat customer. Pay Sandy a visit; it’s well worth your time.

I came in without an appointment and she fit me into her schedule within 30 minutes. The place is very clean and has relaxing background music playing over the speakers.

I have been a customer of Sandy’s for several years. She is a professional that takes the time to understand what you want, and more importantly, what makes you look good. Once she knows what you want, she will style your hair consistently; this comes from her getting to know you. Try getting that at one of those bargain places. If an emergency comes and you need a quick cut, Sandy will work with you.
She takes reservations, which minimizes long waits, but honestly, both Sandy and Darlene are fun to be around.
Sandy is as much of a friend, as she is my stylist; I am glad I found her!

I have had my hair cut here a few times and one of the barbers there is nice but the other is kind of rude. The price of a haircut here is higher than at comparable places, and the wait times sometimes can be longer than usual. The haircuts I’ve gotten haven’t been great, so I don’t plan on going back.
