WOW– what other studio in the valley does 90 minute yoga workouts, North Valley Aikikai does! With their knowledgeable instructors and their morning and evening class that fit your busy life style. The studio is clean and relaxing to workout in. I’ve been going there for 2 ½ years now and I’m hooked.

A year after my last review and I still love this place. Taking classes 2 – 4 times a week and the instructors and fellow students are outstanding. I feel like a part of a community here. It’s a good feeling. Will review again in a year.

This is an AMAZING yoga studio! My husband and I have been coming here for over a year now. In fact, we started our yoga practice at this studio. I feel stronger both in mind and body. All the teachers have been extremely welcoming and explain the classes very well as we went along.
My favorite class is mixed level Vinyasa Flow yoga with Cecilia. Her class is the perfect blend between stress relief and strenuous workout. What’s great about Cecilia is that she makes sure you are not only doing the poses correctly but you are feeling the pose work out the way it’s supposed to. During savasana she even wave aromatherapy over you while you are resting, enhancing the experience before you get back to the daily routine. You will feel so refreshed and at peace once the class is over. Restorative class with Mel is also a great class. Mel is probably the sweetest person you will ever meet in your life. She is really good about catering to your needs. Her class has a particular ability to leave you well rested dropping into a quiet, very chilled-​out space in your mind as your body drops away layers of tension. Another extraordinary class is Yoga Nidra & Guided Imagery class on Friday night with Kimberly. It is the best way to unwind and «defrag» after a busy week. After the class, I feel relaxed, renewed and recharged. I loved the Yoga Nidra & Guide Imagery. A wonderful experience to find my center again!
Besides a variety of yoga classes, this studio offers community events and workshops. You will definitely grow here. The place is full of good energy and truly relaxing with the practice.
I would recommend North Valley Aikikai Studio to anyone wishing to experience a wonderful yoga session, as well as get a good physical workout under the guidance of its very experienced and approachable yoga teachers.

I cannot say enough about how happy we are with this studio. Our 6– and 7-​year-​olds have been coming here since the beginning of the year. The Mr. and I have our own martial arts backgrounds; we knew we wanted them to learn Aikido; we are so pleased to have found this studio and these instructors.
It’s one thing to be a great martial artist. It’s another to be a great teacher, especially with young children. But to find someone who excels at both is a gift. Sensei engages the kids with a variety of activities so skillfully that they probably don’t realize how much they’re learning.
We just tried our first kids’ yoga class, and I was delighted to find that the yoga instructor is just as talented, so we’ll be back for more yoga too.

North Valley is my first yoga studio. It has a very nourishing environment, friendly yogis and instructors. I felt confident enough to do things I was unsure of. Very communal atmosphere/​vibe. I decided to take a break from North Valley after my favorite instructor retired from teaching and I explored other yoga studios in the Valley such as YogaWorks. Nothing has really compared! I am excited and confident in my decision to return to North Valley in the near future.
Michelle is fantastic. Cecilia is a doll.

Just started after searching for years to find a dojo. I have been thinking of joining for a year, but it was my excruciating back pain that pushed me to walk through the door. Now I strengthen my core while learning a martial art. The Sensei is very welcoming and encouraging. The black belt students are supportive and so patient. I am loving it because I am finding the practice of mindfulness and peace to be joyful. The practices force me to act more than to think, which is a wonderful break in a hectic week.

I have taken two classes so far and loved both. It took me awhile to find a studio in the area and so far I’m very happy with the instructors. I used a groupon and after the first class I got one for my husband. Last night was his first time in a yoga class and he is hooked now.

Very lucky I found this yoga studio! The instructors are very knowledgeable and helpful in proper alignment. I have been practicing here for over a year and recommend it highly to everyone! I really enjoy all the instructors and the owner always greets me with a smile!

I’ve been coming here for about half a year and I absolutely love it. The atmosphere is very free and friendly. All the instructors make an effort to understand everyone’s level and try to offer plenty of modifications. Every instructor is different and I absolutely recommend going to different classes to experience all the different styles. This place is very clean and has a huge mat that almost covers the entire floor, which helps when you lose your balance and fall (which occasionally happens). In addition, there are blocks, blankets, bolsters, and straps for everyone to use! I will be coming here for a very long time!

Great place to do yoga! I bought a 10 classes for $ 30 on groupon last month and have been going as often as I can! Michelle is great, she takes her times and bases her class on what everyone wants to work on. It is ver clean and peaceful! I would recommend to everyone! They have a variety of different levels and all the instructors are great with new comers! I will continue to attend North Valley!

Have been going here for yoga since I moved to this area several months ago – was the first place I tried, but having gone to many yoga studios, I knew I’d chosen well. Every teacher I’ve had so far has been top-​notch, both in knowledge of yoga as well as teaching ability. The staff is cordial and accommodating, and the facility has a warm atmosphere and good energy.

This review does not reflect the knowledge or skill level of its instructors. Based on those factors, this yoga studio would have gotten a 4 or 5 stars rating.
I purchased a groupon to try this place out. After just two sessions, my older son became ill and was not able to attend school for three months. When I returned to take more classes, my groupon was almost expiring. I explained my situation to one of the instructors. She was very empathetic. She explained that the decision really relies on the owner.
The owner did probably what the majority of other places would have done. She did nothing above and beyond to help with my situation. She refused to extend the expiration date, nor offered me any special promos. She did ironically ask me to leave a Unilocal review.
Did this business have a chance to «lose» a little, in return gain my good will and forever gratitude? Most likely. Would they now have a chance into making me a loyal and lifetime member to the business? I would say ‘no’! To me, the intangible things delivered by businesses count so much more.

I recently chose to practice yoga for mental awareness, relaxation and core strengthening. I started out at yogaworks and now decided to try north valley. I must say I am impressed. The studio is clean and the instructors are experienced and challenge each student to their full potential. all students at every level are welcomed. I am fortunate enough to have taken Ari and Alexa’s classes and they are both fabulous instructors with so much to offer. I will definitely continue taking classes here.

I have had 4 classes at North Valley Aikikai using the Groupon they promoted a few months ago. Each class I have taken has been great, though I have not taken from each teacher as yet. I will say Michelle, Cecilia, and Jessica were wonderful.
Do not expect Yogaworks when you come here. You walk into the room you will be practicing in from the street, and while inside you can still hear almost all street traffic. For me, however, this does not detract from the class. In fact, I find it helpful because I practice yoga to attempt to block out that noise, so it’s good practice!
The room is clean and is well stocked with blocks, belts, and blankets. There is a very calm feeling in the room as well, though I will admit I wish it was a little cooler during class.
The only negative I can think for this place is the limited number of yoga classes, which I think is being changed soon. I’m a teacher and the only classes I can attend are at 8 p.m.
Overall, I recommend North Valley Akikai for students of yoga.

All the 5 star reviews are spot on! I purchased the 15 class groupon and took my first yoga class today.
The studio is wide open with clean and comfortable mats that cover the entire class area. You don’t event need to bring a yoga mat. And just in case you don’t have your own mat or forget, they have really good quality mats for you to borrow. There are yoga blocks and belts for everyone to use as well.
The class tonight had about 13 people and there was more than enough room for everyone to stretch and do their poses without having to worry about hitting someone.
The instructor was outstanding! She took time to understand everyone’s level and injuries so she could include modified poses. Her voice is very calming and instructions were easy to follow. She took time to explain every step in detail including reminding people to flex their feet during certain poses to protect their knee cap. From the music to correcting poses to the lavender scent at the end, the instructor truly cared about the practice of yoga and the success of each student.
Also, the yoga classes are offered at 8pm during the week which is so nice for people who work late and can’t make 7pm classes offered at a lot of other places.
If you’re looking for a new place to practice yoga or want to get into it, this is the place! No reason to look else where.
Oh and plenty of free parking in the shared lot.
