Specialties
We are a Korean traditional dance studio in the heart of Koreatown (Wilshire&Western). Our students ages range from 3 – 80 years young! Not only do we offer lessons in all forms of Korean traditional music and dance, but we also offer hip hop, tap, ballet, and jazz dance.
Not limited to just teaching in our studio– Both the director and assistant director are part of LAUSD teaching Korean music and dance at several elementary and middle schools in Los Angeles. Also, teaching hip hop at Manchester Academy (afterschools/hagwons) during winter, spring, and summer sessions.
We are also a performing group. In the past we have performed for both private and public events (Including community service).
We perform for community events, weddings, 1st birthdays, anniversaries, company parties, cultural events, etc.
For booking inquiries please call our number & for English please ask for Katherine Ko.
History
Established in 1991.
Established over two decades ago by Sue Hee Ko (Director). Studios located in Garden Grove, Orange County, Northridge, and Los Angeles. Currently have studios in Northridge and Koreatown.
Our goal: Ko’s Korean Tradtional Dance Institute is a studio/program where we can preserve and share the Korean culture through music and dance to those around us. Our heart goes out to the 2nd generation whose language and culture has been lost. We do our best to introduce culture, tradition, and Korean language to all our students and want to give our 1st generation students a feel of home.
In 2010 our studio had the opportunity to tour with popstar, Shakira, for her song «Did It Again». Performing in venues such as Saturday Night Live in New York, Dancing With The Stars, XFactor in London, and many more.
