This place is so cute I love it. My boyfriend and I came here twice and weren’t disappointed. It’s refreshing my for the summer! Check it out!

I was at a wedding this weekend, when out of nowhere, this truck was in service outside the hotel I was at. Turns out the bride and groom requested this truck to come over. Since it was free for the wedding guests, I had no choice but to get some shaved ice, and MYGOD, this truck delivered the goods. Their shaved ice was just dank and the ice cream on the bottom was a perfect companion. They have so many combinations you can choose that I literally forgot(I blame it on the alcohol). They do take their time with the shaved ice, but it’s totally worth it! Whether free or not, I would be happy to catch this truck again for some shaved ice goodness.

This is like seriously epic! This food truck completely caught me off guard like what?!? They serve shaved ice?! I was like it’s about time! This truck is amazing! It’s like shaved ice that I’ve never had before from the creamy ice cream to everything. It’s the best!

We tried Get Shaved at their Northridge store and then found out that they had a truck. When it came to La Crescenta on Thursday we tried it out. The product is the same as in the store — fluffy light real shaved ice(not crunchy snow cone stuff) with delicious toppings. I had the POG(pineapple orange guava) same as I remembered on Maui. The only disappointment was that they were out of condensed milk that night, and it just isn’t the same without it. I’d have given then 5 stars if they hadn’t run out. I’ll try other flavors when they’re back in the neighborhood. The UFO size is plenty big enough for me

I love this food truck! I am a huge fan of Hawaiian shaved ice and Get Shaved hits the spot and fulfills my cravings every time! They have a good selection of flavors to choose from. My favorite combo is their One Love which is melona, mango, and watermelon. Sometimes I like to substitute watermelon with strawberry or fruit punch to give it a different kind of taste. Either way it is still delicious! The texture of the ice is amazing. Smooth and soft just like how Hawaiian ice should be. A great addition to this dessert is vanilla ice cream – I don’t know what brand they use but it is really rich, creamy, and fluffy – it compliments the ice really well. You also have a choice of condensed milk or sour spray as an additional free topping. Get the condensed milk and avoid their white macadamia ice cream(it tasted horrible). Their service is great. If you go often they remember who you are. They usually come to the Diamond Bar area on Wednesday nights; you can follow them on Twitter and find out when they are coming! Definitely a must try and have.

My friends know how to throw an awesome birthday party for their 1 year-old. She won’t remember a thing, but I’ll always remember my first time trying this shave ice! So many great flavors. For this catered event, there was only one size available and no step #2(goodies). I saw TIGERSBLOOD on the list of favors and asked them about it. It’s a combo of watermelon, strawberry and coconut. Perfect because I wanted those and now I still had two more to choose. I decided on LYCHEE and MANGO and topped it off with CONDENSEDMILK. It was high 90s that day so it didn’t take long for my shave ice to melt and meld the flavors. It was great!!! I had a couple of skeptical friends try it and they gave my combo a thumbs up too. I love birthday parties.

If you’re a fan of shaved ice — this is your place. We actually rented the truck for my workplace for a special event. They came and set up in our parking lot and we had them for an hour. With service charge, gratuity, and deposit it was a little more than $ 500(I believe). They had so many fun flavors so you could either build one yourself or choose one of the recommended combos that they create. I made my own with mochi and POG(very Hawaiian — passion fruit, orange and guava) and lychee I believe. I also may have had a second one of their root beer float, which came with vanilla ice cream, root beer syrup and condensed milk. I was definitely feeling very food coma-ed after eating so much. Everyone seemed to enjoy the shaved ice, and the employees of the truck were very sweet and nice. We got a bunch after the hour was up, but it’s a lot harder to save shaved ice then you’d expect. It takes about half an hour for the ice cream to even make a dent with one’s spoon, so if you’re getting shaved ice, definitely eat it right then and there!

I cannot describe the overwhelming sense of wonder and excitement I felt when I found this truck. I had heard of its fabled magnificence, and when I saw it sitting in the parking lot of the Angel City Brewery’s «Food Truck Haven,» I felt as if I had just discovered the Fountain of Youth after being aged after years of pursuit. Or like Harold and Kumar when they finally made it to White Castle. I got the ‘monkey brains’(strawberry-banana) which was flavorful and refreshing without being too sweet. The shaved ice is soft and fluffy – no hard chunks of ice whatsoever– and blended in seamlessly with the creamy vanilla ice cream. I went with the smallest of the four sizes available(the UFO), which was big enough to share with my sister. However, as I lie here, penning a review, I find myself lamenting with sorrow the mistake I made in not getting a bigger size. This shaved ice may not change your life as it did mine, but I can guarantee that you will be left with a smile on your face when you are done. It may not keep you young forever, but as it supposedly takes fewer muscles to smile than to frown, maybe it will stave off aging indirectly for those few minutes you spend savoring this delicious treat!

Still one of my favorite trucks. For the most part, I’ve pretty much ordered the same thing ever since my last review from 2010. Well maybe once in a blue I’d go adventurous and order one of their signature combos, but if it ain’t broke, why fix it, you know? They haven’t disappointed me yet.

The first time I tried Get Shaved was a couple of years ago when I was impatiently waiting for the Kogi Truck only to find that the Get Shaved Truck arrived first. So I thought, why not, let’s try it. BEST. IDEA. EVER. Better than getting it at the actual store in my opinion because there are far less lines and it’s less messy when they serve it to you. Even better because I needed something to make me happy as the Kogi Truck was taking hella days to arrive. Get Shaved was the answer. I like the Mango, Melona, and POG combination with sweetened condensed milk and vanilla ice cream, sometimes with Azuki Beans. Sad thing about it is that it never comes to UCLA anymore… nor does the Kogi Truck. Forever sad day.

Saw the truck when driving by Almansor park in Alhambra on a Friday evening so we stopped to try some shave ice. We got a medium with blue hawaii, mango, and watermelon with condensed milk(first topping is free). We also added mochi($ 0.50 each addition). The shave ice was nice and fluffy and they were generous with the syrup. I didn’t like the mochi because they use the packaged mochi that you usually see at Yogurtland so it was too sweet for me. They also have vanilla ice cream and azuki beans. I wish they had macademia nut ice cream like they do in Hawaii! The shave ice still doesn’t compare to Hawaii but pretty good compared to others in this area.

The boyfriend and I have been chasing this truck since 2010! My favorite shaved ice spot of all time. Who would have thought adding vanilla ice cream to the bottom of shaved ice would make it taste so much better than its competitors?! My favorite is the Rockin’ Rainbow because it reminds me of the old school shaved ice I used to get when I was little at the park, where the guy comes around pushing a cart selling snow cones and you pick your syrup. My boyfriend likes the Sour Puss because it’s more sour than sweet. Occasionally, I do get the Root Beer Dream but it is pretty sweet. I’ve never made my own shaved ice because I never felt the need to. They open an actuall store in Reseda, CA. I have yet to visit it being it is a drive. But when the Get Shaved Truck is in the area, catch me when you see the truck!

Sweeeeet Shaved Ice … bah bah baaaah … good times never tasted so good… so good… so good. Sweeeet Shaved Ice. The portable Get Shaved Truck and team had me singing like a drunk BoSox Fan except I was high on sweet syrup and condensed milk. Our company had an outing this past week catered by food trucks and they saved the best for last. The Get Shaved crew delivered some sweet and sugary desserts that kept us wired for the rest of the afternoon. The choices were tempting and the combinations endless. Each Shave Ice starts with Vanilla Ice Cream and crushed ice is packed on top by the Shave-meister. He handed it off to the Syrup Queen who applied the flavors. In front of me, people were getting beautiful combinations like Monkey Brains with Strawberry & Banana or Rockin’ Rainbow with Cherry, Blue Raspberry, and Pineapple. I followed my heart with a Let Them Eat Cake. It’s Blue Vanilla, Coconut, and Pineapple Shave Ice with Sweetened Condensed Milk. This is the way to have your cake and scoop it, too. Where it began I can’t begin to knowin’ But then I know its growin strong Was in the spring And spring became the summer Who’d have believed you’d come along Ice, touchin Ice Cream Reachin out Touchin me Touchin you Sweet Shaved Ice … bah-Bah-bah Good times never seemed so good.

If you’ve been to Oahu and tried either Wiola or Matsumoto shaved ice, you’ll really appreciate the texture and flavor of Get Shaved truck’s shaved ice. If this truck passed by my house everyday, I’d be in BIG trouble because I’d be buying one every single day! The ice is like snow without all that grainy or crunchy texture. This shaved ice is pure heaven with the right amount of sweetness to every bite. I ordered the Banana, Mango and Watermelon with vanilla ice cream on the bottom. Ok, I gotta admit that having ice cream on the bottom seemed like a weird idea at first. But since everyone else that I went with ordered ice cream, I’ve decided to just go along with the crowd. Wowsers! Must get ice cream! I felt like being back in Hawaii again. I’ve never experienced any shaved ice in LA that was any bit similar to Wiola’s or Matsumoto’s. I’m glad that this truck exists and I’m even more happier that I can get this any time if I’m in the Torrance area. Yes folks, they have an actual store in Torrance. Now if they can open up a store in SGV area…=)

3.5 stars! WOW writing this review while i am super thirsty was a bad idea in retrospect! they serve REFRESHING shaved snow & top it with any combo of the many uniquely flavored syrups… pretty much hawaiian style BUT what i LOVE about their ice is that its SUPER FINEly shaved & you have the option of adding ICECREAM underneath to create pretty much a creamsicle in a bowl!!! add some«sweet cream»(which is just condensed milk) on top & you are on your way to a sugar high if you can’t handle too much sugar, they offer so many sizes, even down to a mini UFO disc size for a food truck, I’d consider this truck pretty cheap(i feel like they could be charging way more), so follow on twitter & track down your summer’s THIRSTQUENCH w/this truck!

I had a work event last week and was surprised to see the Get Shaved truck there to cater to our sweet tooth! I was extra pleased because I haven’t tried this truck yet. We were able to make our own shaved ice combination or pick from their specialties. The only downside was we only had the vanilla ice cream, we couldn’t get the azuki bean or mochi. I was able to try the PassioNut, Monkey Brains, and Let Them Eat Cake. I also made my own with mango and lychee. All were very good, I couldn’t pick a favorite but the sweetened condensed milk on the Monkey Brains and Let Them Eat Cake was a great add on. The staff on site was very friendly and we didn’t have to wait long for our treats. I’ll need to stalk this truck and try the different ice cream flavors, azuki beans and mochi the next time!

So fresh and so clean clean. Get Shaved Hit the spot a few hours later after my food truck gluttony on Sawtelle. I first had them at food truck day for Heal the Bay when I snagged a few spoonfuls of Jin’s Rainbow treat. If i wasn’t so full I would have easily been able to eat it all. On this visit I kept it simple and went for the small size and picked my three syrup flavors. I felt kind of tropical so I went for Pineapple, Guava and Passion Fruit. No ice cream under my ice this time as that seriously would have pushed me over the top. But next time for sure I’m topping mine with mochi! Staff on both my visits were cool as ice. The perfect treat on a hot summer day or a warm October night. I’d totally even be down to have them in the rain.

OC Foodie Fest 2010 These people get it RIGHT! I don’t care if the line was freakin’ long during the OC Foodie Fest. It was HOT, HOT enough to wait in line for a $ 4 shaved ice TREAT! Sooooo good, and was worth the wait. I think they have some of the best«mobile» shaved ice around. They do an amazing job and EVERYTHING looks and tastes yummy! Great to cool you off on a summer day.

Simply. Amazing! After hearing so many great things about it, my friend and I decided to hunt the truck down. But I didn’t wanna get my hopes up. «I mean, it’s just shaved ice… how good can it be?» I ordered the PassioNut which had Passion Fruit, Coconut and Melona flavoring with Vanilla Ice Cream. I also got the sweet cream on top which is their way of saying condensed milk. MMM! But what blew me away was the consistency of the ice. It was soooooooooo soft and smooth and just out of this world! My favorite flavoring was the Melona. It tasted just like Korean melon bars! I think it’s worth the wait, especially on a hot summer day if you’re not in a hurry. And for those of you who don’t like hunting down these food trucks, they just opened their store in Northridge! Yay! I can’t wait to try more of their other flavors! :)

I was driving along Eagle Rock coming back from my so-so French dinner + suddenly I see Kogi Truck! Oooohhh… but uh, errr… I just ate… But wait… what’s that behind it?! The GETSHAVEDTRUCK!!! It was nearly 9pm so we busted a U-turn + quickly found street parking to make it as one of the last customers of the night. Sure we already had dessert… but this one was a zillion times better! Especially since it was ½ the price + oh so much more refreshing. I got the #5 Combo: Sour Puss(lime, pineapple, + watermelon over ice cream w/sour spray on top) while my friend got the #6 Combo: Let Them Eat Cake(pineapple, coconut, blue vanilla over ice cream). This was my friend’s first time experiencing the Get Shaved truck + she was really surprised at how delicious it was. The soft ice + perfectly balanced sweetness of the syrupy flavors are far beyond any other snow cone you’ve probably tried at some carnival or circus in the past. This is the real deal! And over creamy vanilla ice cream… mmmm! I haven’t yet tried a flavor or combination I haven’t liked. Lime is always my staple flavor of choice + it has always mixed delightfully with anything. Ultimate favorite mixture is Lime, Passionfruit + Strawberry. Gotta love having the opportunity to choose 3 flavor choices especially since their menu has soooooo many to choose from! =) 3-Flavor Prices: UFO: $ 2 Small: $ 3 Medium: $ 3.50 Large: $ 4 Combo Prices(basically $ 0.50 more bc of the ice cream add-on) UFO: $ 2.50 Small: $ 3.50 Medium: $ 4 Large: $ 4.50
