Exer – More Than Urgent Care

We came to urgent care and saw Dr Wilbur. He was outstanding, knowledgeable and friendly! Thank you for all your help!

The place is clean. The staff was having a good time, one eating lunch at his desk. I checked in at 2:30 on a Sunday afternoon, and they said the wait would be 1 — 1.5 hours, which turned into 3 hours for a 10 minute consultation.
It seems like they should have a way to call in help if they get busier than anticipated, 3 hours is not acceptable.

I had a good experience here, although looking at other reviews, I haven’t gotten to any billing or payment issues yet. The staff was kind, as was the doctor. I came right when they opened at 9 and waited maybe 20 minutes. It was easy to get my prescriptions afterward as well. So, if there are no issues with billing, then I give Exer a high rating and would come again if necessary.

I went here back in July to get a physical and TB test for my job. It was very quick and efficient and the staff were very friendly and helpful. I will definitely be back here again!

I was at another local urgent care which informed me they didn’t have an actual physician only a physicians assistant and after looking her up to find out her background specialized in nutrition and seeing their horrible Unilocal reviews I informed them I was leaving and seeking treatment elsewhere
This is where I found EXER on Unilocal went there waited about 10 min friendly staff very professional clean neat facilities everything looks new. Saw an actual ER board certified Doctor an American that spoke perfect English everyone was very professional and highly trained. I was in and out quick diagnoses treated and my prescription was sent electronically to my pharmacy before I even got home my pharmacy called me to tell me my Rx was ready for pick up. This place is a well oiled machine things are streamlined procedures are followed
I couldn’t have been happier. I highly recommend this place.

I came here because my doctor cannot see me on an emergency and he came highly recommended yeah right when I checked then I asked how long it would be for me to be seen I was told 25 to 30 minutes hour and a half later I finally went back there then I said in the operatory room another 45 minutes finally a lady came in and I just resolve as the doctor I think she thought it was improv night because she realized I was very upset try to make some jokes which worked out fine he ordered my x-​rays waited another 20 minutes a technician came got my x-​rays done took me back to the room after waiting for half an hour I finally got up and walked out never get these 3 ½ hours of my life

Couldn’t have been better. Was in and out in less than 20 minutes. Scripts were waiting for me at the pharmacy by my house before I got home. Staff was very friendly and talkative.

This place is seriously awesome, and very quick to see you. I’ve gone to emergency rooms and other urgent care locations where I had to wait more than an hour, but I was seen in less than hour when I came here. They are very quick in getting your information and setting up a room for you. Once you are registered, if you go again you just need to give them your name and birthday and they will take you in immediately.
The staff is SO polite and very nice, they made my visit so comfortable. The nurses and doctors were also very nice and answered all my questions. They even provided additional information of when I need to do when I get home. They were very informative and patient with me. The whole location itself is also very clean. Very bright and shiny. The waiting room is also large, many seats. They also have a spot for charging your phone, just bring your usb cord.
I came in because I was having some serious breathing problems and they did all the necessary procedures to make me feel better. Most times after urgent care or emergency room I feel a little better, but still feel like I’m going to crash, but when I left I was feeling so much better and with the prescriptions I have been getting better since.
With prescriptions, you just tell them the pharmacy you like and they will send the medication directly to the pharmacy. No more having to do it yourself and waiting to pick it up.
In the end, this has become my favorite urgent care locations. I don’t have to wait forever like in an emergency room, and it feels a lot cleaner than other urgent care locations and very nice staff. For a comfortable experience, especially when you are sick, this is the place to visit.

The staff was nice, fast and efficient. The office was clean and modern. I was thoroughly and compassionately taken care of. The staff also called and check on how I was, that was extra assuring. I would most definitely recommend this office! I would rather go here than my primary physician!

Amazing service, knowledgable, and free bandaids. I was taken in the room within 10 minutes of getting there which is unheard of for Urgent Cares. I would definitely tell all my friends to go there

The place is extremely, clean and the staff is nice but incompetant. There was no wait or anyone else there. I should have know then to run!
I was told to take the two medications that were prescribed for 7 days. They also urged for extra lab work so I left feeling like they were extremely thorough.
When I went to pick up my prescription the Pharmacist was beyond confused why I would be taking two kinds of antibiotics for one problem. So she only filled one.
In addition I received a bill in the mail for 175. When I called into question my bill, the lady was beyond rude and not helpful. To the point I got off the phone almost in tears. She urged that I pay the amount right away and what would happen if I didn’t in a threatening tone.
I called my insurance company and they were just as confused. My insurance spoke with Exer, then Exer (billing comp) realized I owed them only 15 dollars compared to the 175 stated on the bill.
I called back to pay my 15 dollars and to get my credit card taken out of their system. The lady said she needs to review my account and call me back in a hour.
She called me back stating that I actually over paid and my check will arrive in three weeks.
I realized after speaking to my personal provider they prescribed me meds I didn’t need and sent out unnecessary lab work. Along with over charging me and making it difficult to correct.
There is something fishy going on or they are absolutely terrible at managing their records. IDK! Either way, ONLY go here for an EXTREME emergency and if you do make sure to double check any and all statements.

I just called to check if it was walk-​in only, and stated I needed a routine pap smear.
I was told I should go elsewhere to a trained OBGYN because they «might not do it right» — direct quote from the receptionsist. The then said the doctors could easily miss something, or not catch something because they’re ER doctors. she also said they don’t have all the equipment on hand and they aren’t trained that way.
what? I had to double check I didn’t dial the Petsmart next door by mistake.
I’m shocked they would say this to an inquiring customer. It’s enough to make a person question their staff: you’ve attended medical school right?

Jiji the receptionist is very rude and unknowledgabe over the phone. This center needs to send their staff to patient satisfaction inservice. Horrible first experience calling this place. Will never come here. Btw Brian W. The medical director personally messaged me with name calling telling me I’m narcissistic and lame and responded in a very condescending manner. I screen snapped the conversation below and am reporting this to the better business bureau. Looks like these rotten attitudes at this center runs in their whole staff.

Came here for the 1^st time. They open up at 9am I called right at 9am and the girl who answered was very friendly and advised me thay there would be approximately a 20 min wait. I rushed over and when I got there right away I was greeted by a friendly face the girls name was Gigi. She asked for my insurance info, id and a credit card. She was very thorough and explained all the paperwork. Since it was my 1^st time they even gave me free band aids with their name on it. I’m a sucker for cute things and hey you never know when band aids will come in handy. She also offered me bottled water. I waited in the waiting room for 5 minutes and right away they called me.
I was than directed to go to a room where I was assited by the Medical Assistant Ryan H. He was very friendly and caring. He asked me questions and took my vitals and advised me that the Dr would be in shortly. Dr. Gold came in about 5−7mins later she checked me and told me she would write me a prescription. I waited a few minutes and than a Nurse came in and gave me my prescription. I was kinda surprised because I expected the Dr to come back and be the one to talk to me. I even had follow up questions regarding the prescription and my care. But she never came back and I didn’t see her around so I just left and felt dismissed and just completely left in the dark wondering…
All in all I got lucky I was in and out within 45 – 50 minutes. This Urgent care is really clean, they have a great look, very stylist sleek and good color scheme. They are very friendly and overall a good experience. Minus 1 star due to the feeling of being dismissed.
I would recommend and would come back if ever needed. But hopefully not!
I did go back and see Dr. Durham and he was fantastic!

Really great experience. Great staff and doctors. Nurse and check in was great too! Had my first uti, got a lot of awwwes you must really be in pain. Total love and compassion!

New facility. Front ofc. person was nice as well as the nurse that helped my son. It’s the female Doctor or Nurse Practitioner was the one that showed unprofessionalism. I’m a health care provider myself and no matter how tired I’am I don’t show it to my patient and make them feel that I’m just so ready to go home. The Doctor came in the examination room like a cowboy (as far as I know any healthcare provider if there’s a patient in the room waiting and the door is closed you have to knock which the male nurse did every time he went in to the patients exam room) this Dr just zoomed in and went straight asked «so what happened». I even greeted her good afternoon but didn’t even bother looking at me. My son had an eye injury and barely can open his eyes. He was in so much pain that when the Dr. tried forcing his right eye to open my son’s normal reflex was to contract his eyes. and made it even tighter. He tried opening slowly and and he can’t focus right away to her light so the Doctor asked my son to try to look straight and when my son didnt get to control his eyebal she made that deep breath like shes frustrated !!! Geeeezzz Someone is in pain and he’s trying his best. She put some eyedrops and started asking questions to my son how did it happen.
She went ahead and did her light examination and next thing she wanted to use was their equipment that has probably magnification to better see if there’s any debris or damage to his cornea. Started moving this i’d say microscope sized like equipment, she tried turning it on with her gloves on that she used to examine my son started unplugging and plugging it again, tried to move around the equipment then finally called help and the male nurse came and helped trying to figure out why its not turning on. Finally she decided that the equipment was not working and told me, FINALLY looked at me and told me that she needs to send us to the ER so they can further evaluate coz she wants to make sure no corneal damage. She said she’s going to put an eye patch in the meantime then we can go ahead and take him to ER. Dismissed us NO eye patch I guess she forgot in a matter of 1 minute. Refunded my office visit copay. Waste of time !!! I don’t really mind the time but it’s the attitude of that Doctor who I think doesn’t like what shes doing or maybe shes not well compensated or its just probably a lazy Sunday for her and she just probably want to stay home, eat and watch TV! Im just giving 1 star just for the receptionist and the nurse who did their job but still NEVER AGAIN !!!

I have had my share of visits to doctors offices, urgent care, hospitals, and I can say with confidence this place is good. Since moving to the Valley I have had a hard time finding a quality health care provider close by. My son’s primary and specialty care is through UCLA and during the week it can be a challenge getting to West LA in the morning. I was looking for a UCLA affiliate urgent care here in the valley and I found this place on the UCLA urgent care website as an affiliate. I can’t just take my son anywhere given his condition. I took my son in to be seen. We were the first patients in at opening 9:00AM. We were attended and seen promptly. The doctor assessed my son and listened as I gave him a history. He understood my concern to be cautious given his condition. He took the time to contact his cardiologist and ensure they addressed everything with care.
I am impressed, I have been to places where doctors don’t take that extra effort. That wasn’t the case here. I think it’s important to ask a lot of questions and be honest about symptoms and causes. To be aware of what it is you are being diagnosed with and what medication is prescribed if any. It’s your body.
Their registration process is very efficient so when you come for your next visit it’s quick. When you are discharged you are given printed sheets of information about medication and diagnosis. This place is new, clean, modern, and have the adequate equipment to asses their patients. I would definitely recommend Exer.

They opened up just about 6 months ago or so. Was not having it this past weekend, had to call off work, and my primary doctor wasn’t available. He redirected us here which for those living in the valley is extremely convenient if your main doctor is having a busy day.
VENUE: Clean (as it should be!) and organized. Appealing looking urgent care compared to others that can sometimes scare you. It is also a huge resource for CSUN students, in case it’s needed.
SERVICE: Speedy & satisfactory (for the most part). However, I do feel like the nurse was much more attentive than the actual doctor (Dr. Gold). The nurse seemed more interested and attuned when we were trying to figure out what was wrong with me versus the doctor who seemed to be more dismissive when she assumed whatever I was feeling didn’t sound as urgent. After explaining how I wasn’t feeling much pain but had been having a hard time breathing deeply, the doctor at one point asked me, «So then why are you here for urgent care?» It came off rude & made me uneasy believing that my thought of urgency was judged. But thankfully the rest of the appointment did end off on a better note. We figured out what was wrong, I was given a doctor’s note to take one more day off to rest from work, & got something to help me breathe easier.
Overall, they have gotten me feeling better a good 24+ hours later. Getting better is what matters at the end yes?
Heads up:
— Make sure it is something urgent. Even though it’s still new and there’s really no people traffic. But it is an urgent care after all.
