I just went in there today to have a watch fixed and was not charged and told that it needed to charge in the sun. While I was waiting I found the most beautiful butterfly pin with different colored jewels. I just had to have to for my mother. The owners wife even wrapped and put a bow on it for me. They are so sweet. They even have layaway if you want! Amazing service. ^0^

The owners are extremely nice and helpful. I went in to get my watch battery replaced but my watch was too tough to open; they kindly sent my watch to their warehouse and it was ready to be picked up within a few days. Overall, I had a great experience and the price is more than reasonable for getting my battery replaced. I’ll definitely be returning to get my other watch batteries replaced.

Great place and good customer service. I brought a gold watch(a present from my Dad) for a repair. Was given a free consultation with explanation what was wrong, how they’re going to fix and and how much it will cost me. Decided to hire them and they did a great job! They also resized my gold ring and you can’t even tell that it was resized! I highly recommend them!

Great find! I’ve never noticed them in this strip mall across from Target. I went in with a bunch of watches that needed batteries. Very nice older couple running the place– she says for 30 years! So glad I found them and don’t have to get soaked for batteries($ 12 – 15) at the mall that don’t even last 4 months. $ 6 – 8 for batteries at Casa de Oro; he also adjusted a watch band; let me know a watch was broken and it wasn’t a dead battery; and I was on my way in 15 minutes. I didn’t take a close look at the jewelry, but there were some nice gold hoops I noticed. The lady said she restrings pearls so I’ll definitely be bringing in my broken necklace. It’s hard to find genuinely nice folks running a small business so don’t pass this place up. Plenty of parking since it’s a strip mall with a big lot.

Good place for a quick battery swap and if the owners are in the mood they will make a good conversation with you. I have to admit going in to this place at first was a little awkward because you have to ring the doorbell for them to open the door for you(I felt like if I was going into a drug deal in a way) and as soon as I step inside they ask me what I need and inspect whatever I brought in(as if i was going tot waste their time). When I first started coming here the battery replacements were at $ 6 but recently that I took my Citizen Navitach again they charged me $ 8. I felt they charged more since the son that does the usual battery replacements was not there and they had to have the retired father do the work. Also if you ever have to deal with the older gentleman please take into consideration his old age and also he suffers from cataracts in his eyes so his work isn’t gonna be like it used too. Overall a great place but if their prices will be going up then I might as well buy batteries and equipment to do it myself.

This place was amazing. Long story short, a solitaire diamond ring was given to me by a friend. It was his wife’s. It desperately needed to be cleaned and reset. I originally took it to Fast Fix in Northridge mall. He quoted me $ 350. Yes that’s right, THREEHUNDREDANDFIFTYDOLLARS. I instantly knew the guy had no idea what he was talking about, and most likely, was trying to rip me off. I found Casa de Oro through a simple Google search. Their cost for the same cleaning and a new setting? $ 125. Not only does my ring look BRAND new, but you’d never know it was reset. Love this place. They have a new loyal customer.

I brought a beat up Movado to have it repolished. I am very happy with the refinished product. Looks almost new. Don’t expect deep scratches to come out but be surprised how much will come out! As far as end result, very satisfied.

Found ‘em on Unilocal– good reviews so here’s another! Does not look that approachable from outside but once you’re in, it’s spacious and has a nice atmosphere along with very friendly staff. I went here only for jewerly repair and it was super fast(ten minutes) and really cheap– they even shined it up for me and put it in a cloth bag. I’m glad I found this place– it’s my new go-to for jewelery repairs. From what I saw– they have a nice selection of their own custom made jewelry but I don’t know how the pricing is.

My Family has been using Casa De Oro since we moved to Northridge in 1984. Even after my father moved to Burbank he still came here to have his watch and jewelry repaired and cleaned. I have been going there on my own since high school when i had an amber bracelet sized. Was inexpensive and only took a few days. There quality of work is amazing. Even after not going there for 10 years they still remember me called me by name. I haven taken my great grandmothers diamond in and had them clean and appraise them. I know i will be going here when it comes time for my wedding. I wouldn’t go anywhere else. Kathy has always told me that she would take good care of me until it’s perfect. and unlike most jewelry stores they don’t want to rip you off. They just want to see you happy. If they weren’t as great as they are would they really have lasted in this little strip mall for 40 years… besides Albertsons no one else has.

Look, I know that there are probably a grand total of 5 people my age(under 25) that still wear a watch everyday, and that don’t just buy a new one when the battery craps out. Some of us actually just FIX what we have, you know? Anyway, finding a jewelery repair store these days feels harder than literally finding a needle in a haystack(and props to you if you can find a haystack in LA). So, Casa De Oro, tiny little store in a little strip mall up the street from CSUN. Went to have my watch battery replaced — something like $ 6, less than 5 minutes, super nice people. Then went in a few weeks later to get the clasp on my necklace replaced — it had only been sitting around broken for, oh, 6 months. Less than $ 10, quality work, less than 5 minutes to repair. I’m just about to move out of the Valley(THANKGOD) but I may consider driving back up here to get my jewelery/watches repaired. FYI, I can’t remember exactly now, but I think it’s a $ 10 or $ 20 minimum for debit or credit cards.

I was not particularly impressed by this place despite the rave reviews off Unilocal.Parking close to the store front is hard to find — I always seem to have to work further down in front of the pool supply store. It’s not a big schlep, but annoying when I’m in a hurry. I brought in a silver chain to have repaired. Cost was $ 19, and it took about 5 days before pick up. Silver just had to be melted and mended again. You could see where the guy mended it upon closer investigation, but I was okay with that. After a week of it back in my possession the chain broke exactly where it had been mended. Luckily, I realized my chain had broke and was able to pick up my diamond pendant off the ground, which was much more expensive than the chain. I was irritated because this meant I had to take time to bring it back here again. When I brought it in the old Asian man who had fixed it before examined the necklace for quite a long time under his jeweler’s magnifying glass, most likely to see if I hadn’t broken the necklace in a different place than where he had mended it. There was no other reason why he had to examine it so carefully under the magnifying glass because it was obvious the chain was broken. BADBUSINESSPRACTICE. It wasted my time standing there, waiting for him to try to prove I was a fraud??? Was he going to argue with me about paying a second time to fix the chain if he saw it’d been broken in a place different from where he previously mended? How insulting. They should rename this place to Case De Cheapo. How long does it really take to mend a necklace? Especially in a way where you can SEE where it’d been mended. They don’t really value your time here. There was no apology for faulty mending or wasting my time in having to come back. Only the«I don’t know why it broke again.» Never mind the fact I almost lost my diamond pendant because of HIS poor workmanship on mere chain. Is it that hard to melt silver together? He did it again and I came to pick it up the following week. It’s been about 2 months since then without any problems. I guess this time he decided to pay attention. The only reason why they get 2 stars is for the quick watch battery change.

I went here after the usual local place that replaces my watch battery said that my watch was«dirty and needed servicing for $ 70» and that the battery was ok. So I looked at Unilocal and then went to Casa de Oro where the people were very nice. Said it was the battery and my watch has been working fine for the last 2 weeks. Thanks Unilocal and for the person who took the time to post a review.
