Ulta Salon Cosmetics & Fragrances

Firstly, it seems the store and salon are residing in two different worlds when it comes to reviews and even though I have yet to shop in this particular Ulta store I can tell the reviews are probably not too far off regarding the store/​staff. However I had a pretty awesome experience in the salon which makes up for it. I called to see if I could get a same day appt for a haircut which they were able to accommodate and as a new customer to their salon I would get a 25% off deal which is even better. I had bad luck at my last 2 salons where haircuts were concerned so was a little gun shy naturally on dealing with someone new. I had to wait a few moments to get checked in and got booked with a gal named Dorene. I can’t say enough good things about this lady, she was very personable, felt like I had known her for years, she explained everything she was doing, seemed very knowledgeable and even advised me and gave tips on things I never knew about. She also has a very different approach/​style to cutting hair that I had never experienced before so I was a little surprised after how she was cutting to find my hair was amazing and really just about spot on to what I was wanting/​envisioning. She recommended some good products that she has had personal experience with and all in all I think this visit for me was a relief. As far as the 4 stars goes, it’s mainly due to the fact that you cant just checkout and pay at the salon, you have to go to the main store to checkout, which is a little bit of a pain as it took forever with a line of people and only 1 associate. Other than this not too shabby and I would definitely recommend Dorene at this Ulta Salon.

I have learned to expect certain standards at Ulta stores. This one was a big disappointment. I took my niece in to buy her some makeup for school. She wanted the Ulta brand. The display was a mess: items out of place, poorly stocked shelves, missing prices, etc. We asked sales clerk for assistance. She said, «I don’t know about this stuff. I’ll get somebody else,» and walked away. Twenty minutes later, no one else had appeared. At that point, we gave up and went to a different store.

This for for the store its self (there wasn’t a location for it on the map). No wonder sephora out shines this place. I ask a simple question & they look at me like I’m stupid. So rude. Except for the girl in the high end cosmetics, ask least asked if I needed help. The store is also very in organized and dirty. I used it love it here. It’s went down hill.

I see Angie here to get my color and cut, and she is truly talented!!! The price could not be better ($ 55 for cut & all over color), and she has been spot on both times. Not to mention, she is just plain nice, down to earth, really listens to you, takes her time, & gives great reccomendations on products.
