Legacy Barbershop & Salon

I was tired of getting inconsistent hair cuts from the chain shops, so I decided to give this local place a shot. It is located in a multi-​office building, fairly easy to find, decent parking. It is a very small shop, they have two chairs. On the day I went, there was only one barber working.
I didn’t have to wait at all, I was the only customer there at the time. When I walked in, I was a little put off by the blaring rap music. I don’t mind music playing at all, but it was loud to the point where you couldn’t carry on normal conversation. I had to ask the barber to repeat himself several times, and that was AFTER he turned it down.
I explained to the gentleman what type of cut I wanted, he seemed a bit confused, but after reviewing a photo from one of those ‘style books’, he proceeded with the cut. Twice during the cut, he dropped the comb onto the floor. The first time he just picked it up and continued cutting. The second time, it bounced into my field of vision, where he had to walk around the chair to pick it up. This time he dunked it in Barbicide, wiped it off and continued. I would have preferred that he get a different comb.
I was faced away from the mirror for the entire cut, then turned around at the end to ‘OK’ it. It was difficult to see the style, as the chair was kind of far from the mirror, and I’m the kind of guy who always says ‘Looks Great!’ anyway. I paid my $ 15, plus a $ 5 tip, cuz I’m nice like that, and left.
Cue me getting home later that afternoon. My wife takes one look at my head and starts shrieking about my ‘butcher job of a haircut’. I honestly hadn’t looked at it since I left, so I took a good look in the mirror at this time.
Ladies and gentleman… it looks like I went to town on my hair with a pair of Playskool scissors. My hairline was shaved about an inch higher than my natural line, there’s chunks cut out randomly, longer chunks that didn’t get cut. The hair is finger length on top, then about an inch in the bangs. It’s horrific. My wife literally started crying. Granted, that was a bit of an overreaction. But just a bit. By far the worst hair cut I’ve ever received.
I don’t recall the name of the barber, but I know it wasn’t Angel, referenced in the other review. Whoever else he has working there could do with a refresher course in basic hair styling. I won’t be going back. I leave for a business trip tomorrow, and get to spend the next 30 minutes buzzing my head with clippers. Thanks!

I have passed by this shop many times and decided to give it a try today and I am glad I did, Angel the owner did a fine job giving me a gentleman’s cut and he finished it up with a «detailing» with a fresh razor for clean lines. Angel does great cuts at a reasonable price and cares about his customer’s needs. I will definitely come back again!
