Anytime something has to be mixed at this place, from broccoli casserole to potato salad to coconut cake to blackberry cobbler, it is more than worth the calories to get. If you just want green beans, or something like that can come straight from a can, you won’t be impressed, and wonder what all the fuss is about. But, as a true Southern Belle, I recommend the sweet tea(but is there any other way to have it?). There has been a change in ownership and the chef over the past few years, so some things have changed for the better, some for the not so better. Here are the points I’m nit picking about. The cornbread is drier than a rock. I like mine moist. Secondly, at a place like this, you expect biscuits to be served all day, since it is home cooking, and that’s what Mama did, right? Lastly, why serve margarine at the table? Real butter would just elevate it to another level. But, it is a great place to forget about calories for a meal or two, and just indulge your taste buds in what real food is, not the stuff the food critics are putting on a spoon and charging you $ 50 for! But, before you sit down, wonder by the huge dessert case right by the door, so you know what your main course will be!
