Air Authority

Don’t waste your time or money. I purchased a Living Social coupon for the «Chimney Sweep, Inspection, and Fireplace Cleaning» from Air Authority back in June. They were supposed to come to my house in early August for the appointment, and nobody showed up or called. When I called the office to ask why nobody came, they told me that the technician that was supposed to have come had left the company (and apparently, they didn’t reschedule his appointments with another technician?). I was told they would send a «senior technician» next time.
The technician was supposed to show up between 12 — 1 today. I got a call at 1:30 from the technician, who had our address wrong. Not only that, but he had no idea what our appointment was for. He finally showed up and did the job and I can’t say I have any idea what he did. Maybe I’m crazy, but I thought that our fireplace would actually look cleaner after the service. Nope, still covered in soot. No visible changes.
I called the office and voiced my concerns to a «senior technician» today (that nobody showed up the first time, they they showed up late the second time, and it wasn’t a senior technician who came) and he said he ««wasn’t really sure» what I was concerned about. Afterall, they offered to do our second fireplace for $ 50 off of the regular price for our troubles. Unfortunately, since my husband had already taken off work to be home for the appointment and the technician was late, my husband couldn’t stay home any longer for the additional fireplace to be serviced. Not sure we would have noticed any difference if we had done the second one anyway.

I had the same experience as everyone else. I waited 2 weeks for the appointment and then no one shows up, not even a phone call. I called them when they were 30 mins late and the guy said the tech was still in the area, but just running late. 3 hours later, still no one showed up. I didn’t even bother to call them. I just called Poudre Valley Air and got immediate service to clean out the ducts!

I wish there was a 0 star rating. I had a horrible experience with Air Authority and would not recommend them in the slightest bit. I purchased the Groupon deal and it took 1 online inquiry and 3 phone calls to get an appointment scheduled. On the day of the appointment they were 4 hours late. I had to call 5 times before someone picked up the phone and then I was told that the technician was 5 minutes away. He showed up 30 minutes later and we were told our system couldn’t be done without an additional fee. The Groupon is false advertising and this business shouldn’t be able to operate under Groupon.

Unable to reach anyone for two weeks now to schedule an appointment. I have left numerous messages and have yet to get a call returned. Maybe it’s an omen.

I had the same experience as most of the other reviewers. They weren’t able to give me an appointment for several weeks. I rearranged my schedule and then the tech never showed up. The person in the office couldn’t even tell me where the tech was.
Rescheduling meant another month to get an appointment. I made sure to call the day before for confirmation and the tech was still late even tho I had the first appointment of the day. The tech was nice enough and considerate about my time because I had to get to work,
But here’s the real scam to watch out for!
When I mentioned that I was sure the voucher I bought included changing my furnace filter the tech called his boss who then said he could do that for an additional $ 99 BUT ONLY IF I HAVE THEM A 5 STAR RATING ON Unilocal!
Seriously unprofessional! NO recommendation here!

It took two visits for the job to get done. After calling to set up the second appointment they worked with me to make sure we could still use the coupon. On the day of the appointment they were running early and called to make sure I would be around for their arrival. I was glad that they could get in and out earlier than intended so I could visit with out of state friends. I had two extra intake and outake vents and it cost me extra, but overall was still a great deal. The two that worked on the house were very nice and fairly professional though some debris was left behind and some walls got dirty. Undecided if I will use them again, but they did a good enough job that I had to update my review. Below is my original review.
No call and no show for the first appointment. Waiting to reschedule since I purchased an Amazon local deal. This company seriously lacks professionalism. I would recommend bipassing this company for your hvac needs.

This business failed to show up for a vent cleaning. They never showed up or called and I couldn’t even leave a message because their voice mail was full. Do not waste your time.

Bought deal on deal chicken. Then they show up and want another $ 100 to do house. Started cleaning and blew dust ALL OVER the place because he had not covered the return flew. 1 week later and crap is still coming out the vents. NEVER NEVER AGAIN.

Based on many of the reviews here, shown and hidden, their approach seems to be less-​than-​honest.
I purchased a voucher through a deal website. They failed to show up as scheduled. I rescheduled, they failed to show, again — both times, I heard the same poor excuses, and the same lines about rescheduling, making me a priority reschedule, etc.
Note that most of the positive reviews here have only one, and at most, three, reviews.

Bought a voucher through Deal Chicken. They never showed up for the first appointment they scheduled, and provided lame excuses. We rescheduled, I called before the appointment to confirm, they did not show again.
Always with the same excuses, never with any responsibility or follow through.
Their website is now down, many times calls to unanswered, often their voice mail box is full.
Seems to be wise to avoid these folks if possible.

I scheduled an appointment with Air Authority after buying the air duct cleaning deal online. The first time they did not show up within the hour and a half window. I was able to get ahold of a receptionist who cold not get ahold of the technician, apologized, and rescheduled me for a week and a half later. Today was to be the makeup day, and I have been waiting at my house for three hours. Their office is not open, but I did leave 2 voicemails. I am disappointed that both times the company never called to tell me they were running late or could not make it at all. I would highly recommend you not conduct business in the future with them as I would like to save others from the hassle and wasted time. It is well worth it and now I understand why to go with a reputable company and pay what they are asking.

This company isn’t even worthy of 1 star! They are worthless. Today is the second scheduled day I have had for them to clean my chimney and no one showed! Not to mention, the second time I’ve left work early. When I called, the man I spoke to said the «technician» that was supposed to be cleaning my chimney was «probably going to get fired» and that I could reschedule for 4 – 5 weeks later. Which of course I’m not going to do. This is the worst customer service I have ever experienced!

This place is awful! I purchased their deal on DealChicken. They were several hours late to their appointment time. We never received a confirmation call to confirm my appointment. When they arrived they «checked out my furnace» the technician said that my furnace was really dirty… however we just purchased a new furnace the week before. He then told me in order for him to clean my system I would have to pay an additional $ 129. He flat out told me that their coupon isn’t meant to clean the whole system. The technician was very rude and pushy. I told him to leave and have since gotten my money back from Deal Chicken. Don’t waste your money with Air Authority. Find another company!

I purchased an online deal through Living Social and wish i never had. Just like the another person, i had to schedule the Chimney Sweep, Inspection, and Fireplace Cleaning roughly a month ahead of time since they were incredibly busy. Hard to believe. Appointment came and went with no one showing up or calling. I called tried to reach them and got no call back. bad business practices. Working with living social to get reimbursed and not have to deal with them again.

I should have checked Unilocal first. Ouch. Like the previous posts, I got a deal for their service via Amazon Local back in June. Today was the earliest appointment they had so I took off time from work as this was one of the earliest they had & were even scheduling later into the fall.
I never received a pre-​call to confirm my appointment, which was a 9 – 10 AM window for today, so I called this morning to make sure they had me on schedule & they confirmed that they couldn’t reach the tech, but that I was scheduled & he should be there between 9 & 10 AM.
I called @ 10:30 to see if something had happened since no one had shown up, nor had I received any calls about the tech being late; the phone call was not answered & went to a message that just said, «Customer Service group» & for me to leave a message.
I have yet to receive a call from anyone with this company, & no one has shown up. I understand that things come up, but after seeing the previous customer service issues here, I called Amazon & requested a refund. Thankfully Amazon is able to do so. I don’t want to even bother to try to reschedule and have to take off from work again to risk losing another day to the same thing since it seems they clearly don’t hold up their scheduling.

No. Just no. Do NOT waste your money on their
coupon special. Their before and after pictures of a dirty then clean air duct on the website are totally misleading.
All they do is take an air hose and aim it at your vents for a few seconds. When I questioned why they don’t use brushes to clean ducts like monster vac, coit, and everyone else does, the answer was that service costs over $ 500, which they will be more than happy to do, but not for the coupon price.
Talk about a bait and switch. Basically, you are paying good money to have a fear-​tactic salesperson come into your house and try and upsell you things you don’t want or need.
