The One-​to-​One Learning Center is dedicated to providing the best tutoring, academic screening, psychological and psychoeducational testing, and ACT, SAT, PSAT and SSAT test preparation. Conveniently located off the Edens Expressway, we have been in business for nearly forty years. All of our tutors are experienced classroom teachers.

Is your child struggling with a particular subject? We are here to assist your child in mastering the area in which he or she is struggling. Our tutoring helps your child study more efficiently, learn organizational skills, learn test-​taking strategies, and build self-​esteem.

Our testing services find solutions to academic and motivational problems.

One-​to-​One Learning Center offers preparation for ACT, SAT, SAT Subject Tests, PSAT and SSAT. You can choose between a small class or an individual tutorial.

The Center is a 501©(3) organization.

History

Established in 1974.

One-​to-​One Learning Center began as Learning Development, Inc. in 1972 with Cutler Umbach as its founder. In 1975 it became a not-​for-​profit 501©(3) organization with Jeanne Sollitt as Executive Director. In October 1976 the name was changed to One-​to-​One Learning Center. Phyllis Myers was the Executive Director from 1982 to July 2011. Currently the Executive Director is Gail Sheldon.

The Center has offered tutoring and testing services and test preparation services since its inception. Over the years, we have partnered with othe non-​profits such as LINK Unlimited, the Jesse White Tumbling Team, Boys Hope Girls Hope, Chicago Youth Center and others to provide services for their students. Through our scholarships we continue to offer our services and classes to students of need at a reduced rate.

The Center remains committed to changing lives through the development of learning skills and providing continuing learning opportunities to students of diverse abilities and backgrounds.
